When you are in Kakadu NP, book yourself on the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise. It’s near Cahills crossing and if you pick tour team just on or just before high tide you will definitely get close up photos of crocs in their natural habitat and if extra lucky you’ll see one or two gulping down fish! I’ll put a short video in my channel what we saw a couple of weeks ago.

A few years ago I was camping in an area close to Bigfoot territory in Ohio near Salt Fork State Park. It was late at night and I had a fire going and was sitting by it reading a book and drinking a beer. Around 11:00 p.m. I heard a strange rustling in the trees behind my tent. Then I heard low guttural growls. I stood up, turned around and as I did a huge hairy creature emerged from the woods not more that 25 feet from me. It stood 8 feet tall and had to weigh in excess of 450 pounds. I stood motionless not knowing what to do when the creature began dictating the narrative. It slowly lifted its right hand and pointed to the beer I was holding in my hand. I immediately realized the beast wanted a COLD beer. And why not? It was at least 85 degrees and so humid you could cut the air with a knife. I popped a brewsky and gave it to him and motioned for him to come sit by my fire.
He capitulated and as we sat by the fire I lit a cigarette. He instantaneously became agitated and started motioning to my mouth and then to his mouth. Damn, the Dude wanted a smoke. So I lit one for Bfoot and we continued socializing, drinking our beer and having a few smokes. Eventually Bfoot's eyelids began to droop. The beer was making him sleepy. He arose, waved goodbye and walked away, whistling as he disappeared into the woods.
I haven't encountered the creature again, but since then I never venture into the woods without my Bud Light and a carton of Marlboros. Hopefully I'll meet the Big Guy again with his wife and children. If so, I hope the kids are at least 21. No way I'm doing time for serving minors. I got a rep to protect.

    Hi, Molly Dixon.
Thanks for the memories. I put a track in almost to Mitchell Falls one Sunday morning in 1971, while I was working on bauxite exploration with Amax Bauxite. I can't see the track now on Google Earth but I am pretty sure that it came in North of Big Merton Falls and got a lot closer to Mitchell Falls than the current track.
I cut the track with a road grader and there were 4 Land Rovers full of people following me for the last 200 metres or so. I cleared a parking space for them and then flattened the scrub nearby for a landing pad for a helicopter. I had just parked the grader and a helicopter flew in and landed on the new pad - by prior arrangement, of course.
The chopper took us up, two at a time, and flew us over the falls - GREAT stuff.
I also remodelled the original track to the Surveyor's Pool North of the falls and cut another track out to the Mitchell River several miles South of the falls for the water resources people to take flow test on the river.
Among other jobs while I was there, I also remodelled the road down to Port Warrender and cut several tracks in to sites for test bores for water supply. All good fun.
    Thanks again.
    Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Hi, the wife & I did the Gibb 3 years ago in a 2014 Hilux towing an 18 foot van & the only problem was the water pump fell off the van but we stopped straight away & fixed it. We also did the Carlson river track Tagalog tour with out the van with out a mechanical problem & 2 km after the trip on the honeymoon bay road we had a puncher . If you get the chance do the Tagalog trip, we loved it😊

Stunningly beautiful beaches, but you can't go in the water because of crocs, box jelly fish, sharks and sea snakes many times more venomous than their land brothers and sisters.
In these remote areas you have to be so careful to avoid being bitten by a snake as their venom can prove fatal in minutes eg King Brown. They like to wrap themselves around warm vehicle exhaust systems and slither up into the engine bay. You always open a car hood very slowly. There are some pretty sketchy spiders as well.
Breaking down in the middle of nowhere can be a major problem. If you can't summon help and have little or no water you can be fubarred. But you look like you are well prepared ;@)
Taking a helicopter ride over the Bungle Bungles to see Redback Gorge was the highlight for me when I worked in Kununurra many many years ago.
90 mile beach between Port Hedland and Broome and the Kalbarri NP on the Murchison River are also pretty spec as well.
    Safe travels.

Molly, loved part 2 of the Gibb River Road excursion! I’m telling you, get some poster board and make a sign for Molly’s Critters on video checklist! You can add salamander and owl (at least I think it was an owl). I bet you have lovely handwriting so draw something up in your spare time. Let’s get those drone shots of crocs and sharks next (even though I think you had a long distance shot of a croc on the river bank a few weeks ago). Also, was that a voice over I detected in this vid? Just tried to sneak that in did ya? 😊. Loved it! Nice job! Keep up the great work. Until the next vid, stay safe!

Hiya, i've struggled to find an answer online but your rooftop tent and tubrack over the back and rollover cover on tray is similar set up to mine. I've seen your set up of dual battery on lhs in a previous video and wondered how it deals with rain/ dust. I would like to integrate a similiar and then have a pull out kitchen and fridge (low height) where it is all tucked up under the tub.
