    I left mine on, though it didn't lose any percentage in the 4 hours until I remembered. It seemed as though the unit may have auto timed out. Or just the little lcd screen. Either way best to turn it off as he said. 👍

      What do it means when you hook up the smart connector and it starts beeping whit out it being hooked up to the battery?

    • @RetroCarGuy530
      @RetroCarGuy530  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I cannot find that situation documented in the user manual for the product. I have not experienced that behavior, so I have to assume that it might indicate that the smart connector is somehow defective. You may want to contact TACKlife about a warranty replacement or if you just purchased the unit get it replaced by the seller of the T8.

    The most important Feature of a Jump Pack starter is the Power Cell Make up ,there 3 Types (First Type) 3 Li-ion Cells 3.7 volts each = 11.1 volts Fully Charged 4.2 volts = 12.6 volts but when a load is applied they drop back to 3.7 volts Very Quick now the jump pack is only putting out 11.1 Volts Worst Jump Pack to Buy ! , (Second Type) 4 Li-ion Cells 3.7 volts = 14.8 volts ,Fully Charged 4.2 volts =16.8 volts when loaded 14.8 volts Best Jump Pack to Buy For $$ ! (Third Type) 4 LiFePO4 3.2 volts Cells = 12.8 Volts Fully Charged 14.4 volts Loaded 12.8 volts Very Good Jump Pack But are More Expensive then Li-ion Type , To tell which Type you have Fully Charge the Jump Pack & Measure the Volt at the Power Connector Plug on the Jump Pack itself "NOT at the Clamps" if its around 12.6 volts you have the 3 Li-ion Type , if it around 16.8 Volts you have the 4 Li-ion Type , and if at 14.4 volts you have the LiFePO4 Type . Again Packs Must Be Fully Charged .
    Looks like the Tacklife T8 is the 3 Li-ion Cell Type with only 12.37 Volts fully charged so when tiring to start a car its only going to Supply around 11.1 volts the Engine may Crank but slowly , The Jump Packs with 4 Li-ion Cells will crank the Car engine MUCH FASTER !

      Apparently, you can't go by "electronics stats" alone, because in the real world application of it some of the "better performing" units specs-wise didn't do well actually STARTING engines. Surprising I'd say. So unless you know which ones DO work the best on cold, dead and larger-engine vehicles, it seems we still have to choose one and hope for the best (or watch more detailed videos testing them -- as mentioned below). In my case I have the Tacklife T8 Pro (12000/18000) and I'm not at all worried about its performance on MOST engines, even diesels (but not the huge ones). Even the cheapest of these jumper-packs do well enough for the vehicles MOST people own, but you'd likely need a larger unit (and more costly) for the big diesels.
      Look for this :followup" YT video (by Project Farm) to see how specs/real-world performance are sometimes misleading (and again, surprising):
      "Best Car Jump Starter? NOCO GB70 vs Antigravity, Schumacher, Gooloo, Tacklife. Let's find out!"
      Is Tacklife the best? To me that doesn't even matter -- it WORKS, and that's all I needed...not only to jump MY vehicle (not needed so far) but OTHER "vehicles-in-distress" I may come across on the road. So IMO, my Tacklife T8 Pro is more than enough -- and at $60 it's a value/cost-ratio winner.

    What's the difference between this and the red T8 Pro?

      The T8 and T8 Pro currently sold on Amazon are not sold by TACKlife from what I can tell (different seller). Those units are directly sold by TACKlife directly on their website tacklifetools.com/collections/auto/Jump-Starters
      The T8 Pro looks to have different connectors on the side of the unit and it reports to have a 1200A peak amp capability vs the 800A from the unit I reviewed.
      On the TACKlife website it states for the T8 Pro:
      As an upgraded model of T8, T8 Pro's startup performance is stronger and more stable. With 1200A peak current, it can safely start the dead batteries within a few seconds, it can start up to 30 times on a single charge (Only 4.5 hours of charging). Suitable for 12V cars, SUVs, trucks, or vans (Up to 7.5L Gas, 6L Diesel Engine).
      [Advanced Design】A rugged and water-resistant enclosure rated at IP65, it can operate safely in any weather. The rubber covering layer prevents scratches and damage to the surface, which keeps the charging port clean. T8 Pro is Tacklife's most versatile car battery starter ever.
      TACKlife has contacted me about reviewing a new brand of jump starters from FANTTIK. I have not received anything yet to review from them.

    What is the difference. I have the green one.

      I tried to locate information on the T8-Newer "Green", but it appears the TackLIFE website is gone. I friend of mine had a "green" version, but I don't recall any technical differences. Unfortunately, that friend passed away two years ago and I no longer have any way of accessing the "green" unit.
