I still cant get the flagpole glitch. I know the theory behind it, and I even see people pulling it in realtime, but I havent been able to do it, not even with TASing. I suck at this game.
I still don't understand how people do FPG in their tases without the third-step-from-the-top setup. I tried everything, but I have no idea how to do FPG by just jumping to the pole. Can someone explain?
Simply when you reach the block, you must be at a specific speed. Once you're about to touch the block, press left on the same frame (for 1 frame, frame advance helps you), then as soon as you Mario touches the ground (1 frame window), you press jump for one button and the glitch happens. Now for the speed, you have to adjust it when Mario is falling, you need to use frame advance and save states for doing so. I hope I explained the trick a bit
@@McBobX Also, why do you need savestates when making a TAS? Am I missing something? Do people, like, play on their own and the inputs register in the TAS? If so, how do I do that?
@@olegrazbeg Well, you do need save states and frame advance (super slow speed, frame by frame) to make a TAS, because you have to make perfect plays frame by frame and store them in a movie file that is playable by an emulator.. Go to tasvideos.org . Search there for infos about TASing stuff!
Well, there is a hidden coin box right before the pit, which allows Luigi to pass through it without slowing down. There is actually a frame window for that to happen.
Erik Nilsen those worlds are the harder challenge that you get after beating the game, so you beat the game, press start on the congrats screen, then you’re in a-1, understand?
Hit boxes are what the game uses to do some actions. For example, when Mario/Luigi touches an enemy, he dies or goes small again, but in fact, the hitbox of Mario/Luigi collided with the enemie's hitbox, then the game shows the dying or shrinking animation. Everything else in the game (and every game) works with the same way .

You're right about how hard it is even with TASing, cause I hardly learned it for my warpless TAS, check my videos for it.
flagpole glitch is 5 frame perfect inputs in a row, even the top mario speedrunners struggle to get it consistently
Have you done it yet?
I beated world 1 to 9 in this game as well and all without that multiple 1 ups shell kick trick. but man what are thise workds hard man.
You really cant enjoy Mario unless its a speedrun, and you can't enjoy SMB2 as Lost levels in Super mario all stars.
I just realized why is the Japanese console have this 0:10 in English....? What..?
Ugh, the sheer amount of those accursed springs in this game is absolutely disgusting. Those things are so unpredictable.

I never liked the graphics in this one until realising now, right here, right now, that the lifts are made of tiny mushrooms

How much frame window is That clip/zip at 5-1 13-16 on pit buddy ? And is that possible with mario ?

Famicom Disk System.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOW
Is it ironic that the last stage world 9-4 is the easiest level in the game? You just swim to the top of the screen.
Last stage is basically to say "Congrats!" or something like that in Japanese
Where are worlds A through D?
