- Thanks to everyone who continues to support my work and help spread positivity and encouragement!
Disclaimer: I'm going to be making some videos like these where I'm kind of just talking to my younger self. I want to get to the stuff I wish someone had told me early on in my path. This video is meant to show others how I approach drawing faces, It is not a claim that it is the best way or the only way. We all learn differently and what works for me, might not work for you.
If just one person finds utility in this video that would be a great success for me.
I also have come to accept that there might be some angry, negative people in the comments section, If that's you, I want you to know I want the best for you and I hope you find peace and happiness within yourself. Besides no one is nastier to me than I am to myself. Your already outmatched in this regard. I will always be creating regardless, that's what brings me purpose and joy. Sharing my work with y'all is just icing on the cake. Take it or leave it. Thank you.
Always nice to see a new video from you. Also i have to say, i LOVE that sketchbook. Has such a medieval journal you would see in movies or in libraries
I'm really picky about my sketchbooks these days, and I have trouble finding anything I like online so I just make them all myself now. they are fun to customize and have that old world feel.
I love you, I feel so happy every video you post and how incredibly positive and wholesome you are. Thank you for giving me the spark back
I hope you never lose the spark, the world would be a dim gloomy place without art.
This is a true artistic talent, you deserve an award for that beauty of art, seriously bro, I love your sketches, they are very cool and they are on another planet, keep up the good work with your art, I love it
This man DON'T miss 🔥🔥🔥
the touch of red colored pencil at the end is so good!!
Amazing video man, I love this style and I hope to see more of it
Thanks! appreciate the support amigo
Hello just want to say you are my big inspiration to draw. I love your style and hope I can draw like.
Awesome! remember as you progress on your art journey you will naturally develop your own unique style.
Thank you for another amazing video. I went to school for art but life has me doing other stuff. I still love drawing and painting but ive gotten soo rusty!😅 Im trying to practice again. Youre videos are very inspiring to keep going back to it, and I love the thought processes explanation behind everything. Thank you!
Great advise on hammering the fundamentals.
I was told many times but I was stubborn and I ignored that advice way too much early on.
This man can sense my art knowledge needs 😭😭😭
Very inspiring! I also wish I could tell my younger self to work on confidence. It's something I still struggle with but I'm trying to overcome it. Thank you for sharing your work.
I'm slowly building up my confidence by making these videos, so thanks for being a part of that, we can all benefit from building each other up. Best of luck!
ty for this content, it is so usefull and the explanation is perfect
Very interesting, thank you for sharing your process and thoughts with us 🙂
Thank you so much for another amazing video! I love listening to you while you make beautiful art🤗
Fantastic video! I’m always happy to see your work.
Love the new sketchbook! The paper looks almost ancient! I personally love leather back sketchbooks and my last few have had leather covers and cotton paper. It gives them so much more personality imo. Yours looks really cool!!
Very much on the same page when it comes to line quality, sketchiness, and working traditional over digital.
I love embracing the mistakes I make and having to live with them, which makes working in pen and ink a lot of fun.
Thank you for uploading more videos.
Impressive✨ I like your style❤️
Love this.
I would also love to see you experiment with heavier shadows, i.e. chiaroscuro. Would add a lot to your style imo
(But as long as you’re working with watercolors and watery inks, thick shadows and hard lighting are way tougher to draw lol)
Extreme lighting does require more mental horsepower, but I do think I could do more exploration in my sketches, the contrast is lacking for sure.
Traditional physical artwork will never be replaced by digital. Gorgeous drawings and very good explanations on process. Inspiring me to get back to my sketch books. You've earned my subscription. Can you tell me what blue pencil you are using at the beginning? I tried finding a good one on Amazon, but I couldn't seem to find a blue one that looked of similar quality to yours.
welcome to the channel, The blue pencil is a col erase blue number 1276, I think they are only sold as a twelve pack now, but I could be mistaken.
@@artyzartifacts9799 Thank You! :)
Thank you. Inspiring stuff indeed.
Great voice over, very relaxing and informative.
Love your drawings ❤
Lately I’ve trying to work on my faces as well, especially the eyes. I definitely get it when you say that even the tiniest changes can change a whole face. That’s been my experience with eyes XD
Also something about the way you draw faces makes it easier for me to understand how things work. I’ll definitely be coming about to your videos just for references!
It gets really strange when you draw faces at a really small scale, every mark becomes that much more crucial.
Lovely study, thanks for sharing the process
Thank you❤
Can you tell me why some artists use blue pencil for sketching? I've seen Hirohiko Araki use blue pencils as well
In the 70's when I was a commercial artist we used process blue pencils for layout and sketching because the cameras used for shooting work to be printed wouldn't pick it up. This was pre digital/computer. These process cameras were in their own darkroom and used actual photographic film that had to be developed. The camera I used was about 3 feet square and tall. Things are much different now. Anyway, I believe the blue pencil stayed for the same reason that it can be filtered out in shooting artwork and in this case because it pretty much disappears when drawn or painted over.
my animator buddy introduced me to col erase pencils back in the day and he used it for similar reasons as @paulhedman7387 mentioned, I personally like that it doesn't smudge as easily as lead pencils and because I erase a lot it makes for a cleaner drawing in the long run.
Slightly off topic, but where do you get what looks like blue Col-Erase pencils these days? I thought they'd been discontinued.
Would you sell a project for a tattoo?
I realy love your art and would crave to get it carve into my skin.
Hello there. Do you have an email I can write to for an art related proposal?
Hey Arty, I've been looking for an artist for a while who I believe might be able to take an idea I've had for a tattoo and actually bring it to life for me. I was wondering if I could possibly commission you to draw it for me and if so, how I could contact you with more details?
Sadly I don't do commission work, I work a full time job and with all the other personal projects I have I simply don't have time to take on any commissions, I wish you the best in realizing your tattoo idea
@@artyzartifacts9799 Unfortunate, thanks in any case. Love your work
