    Nice review Joe. I liked the up close and personal look at the bait in different colors. Look forward to hearing more about your wiggle stick.

    Used the Yamatanuki for the first time this weekend. Worked great on LMB. Fished in and around lite to moderate cover cover (lilly pads, weed beds). Most hits were on the fall, similar to Senko. Durability is an issue. But, to be fair, I was using the same Gamakatsu Aaron Martens G-Finesse Heavy Cover Hook I use for t-rig Senkos. Maybe an EWG would not tear the bait as much when rigging. In anycase, I am adding the Yamatanuki to rmy regular arsenal. BIG fan of Yamamoto soft plastics.

    • @live2fishofficial
      @live2fishofficial  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your input Brian!
      I think the durability issue may just be the hook. I’ve been using the EWG hooks and not having any issues. Like I said in the video, the only issue I’ve run into is that after so many strikes it starts to wear cosmetically.
      But I don’t think that’s necessarily a BAD thing…I often rub or agitate my Senkos to get that abrasive look and get that salt to the surface. Although the Yamatanuki colors faded, that salt really came out and it got more strikes.
      I haven’t done much pitching, flipping and punching with it, but I think it’s going to excel!
      Thanks for checking out the video and tight lines!👍🎣

    Tons of nice smallmouth on that. Looks like you could d shot, ned rig or just throw it on a jig head. Crazy looking bait but you couldn't keep them off. ¼ oz for a weightless bait is Crazy!

    • @live2fishofficial
      @live2fishofficial  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Chris! I initially thought the hooksets would be an issue but the EWG hook bend seems to flip that hook point forward on a strike and it sets just fine.👍

  • @cjfishtales2238
    @cjfishtales2238 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Tried it. Does seem to have durability issues. Like another commenter, i was using the gamagatsu g finesse hybrid ewg style hook. Maybe a full on EWG will work better. Fishes similar to a senko. Last time out it seemed to do better than a senko in moderate cover. Plan on trying it around pads at the end of the month.

    Just got some, wondering what's your preferred way to work them for LM.

    • @live2fishofficial
      @live2fishofficial  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve been working them just like I do my neds. Either small pops and pauses or quick drags and letting it settle. Seems to be working well. For the smallmouth it was slow and steady dragging that worked well.
      It’s early so there’s not much vegetation. Later this summer I plan to do some testing with pitching and flipping it, punching through mats. I may even add some weight to it.
      Definitely excited to be trying different techniques with it this year.
      Thanks for watching and checking it out!👍
