Unforgiven 2006 come on simon!! The only ppv that i can remember with a TLC and HIAC match on the same card

I remember being happy seeing The Undertaker win the rumble. After being a main eventer in the WWE for so many years, he was long overdue for a royal rumble victory.
Agreed and to be the first to win the Rumble as the number 30 entrant.

And then you get to the Royal Rumble 2008, the storytelling of having Taker and HBK start the match was top notch

That show was my first ever wrestling PPV. I only started watching WWE the month prior and I thought the show was so awesome
Hearing Simon pronounce Umaga the way William Regal does (You-Manga) will always make me chuckle. Little touches like that are why Simon is the best!
I want Simon to feel all warm and fuzzy on his tum tum so I'm suggesting he do a retro ups and downs for the 2005 survivor series including the beautiful build ups on raw and smackdown. Back when WWE knew how to do proper brand warfare.
The final 4 of this Rumble was absolutely STACKED.
Best royal rumble for me. The final two, shawn and taker that was the 👌.

The most underrated Royal Rumble, in my humble opinion. The Hardy’s vs MNM was a solid opener, Cena/Umaga was great, and the final ten minutes of the Rumble with Taker and HBK was the icing on the cake on what was a very satisfying match.

Pretty much all of the best parts of ROH history happened before 2007. I think Punk, Danielson, and Joe were all gone or nearly gone by 2007, Glory By Honor VI with Misawa was in 2006, I think Joe vs Kobashi was in 2005, along with the original Summer of Punk.
If you think ROH's first show was in 2007, you've missed a lot.
@@knightshousegames not first show but first PPV event. I thought it was before then as well but when I checked into it the list said PPV started with this one in 2007.
@@barndiesel6651 Well, by then they weren't making much worth watching anyway. They sadly got their PPV and TV deals WAY after all the best parts of their history had already happened.
I mean, I'm not sure I would want to see a Retro Ups and Downs for Era of Honor Begins because theres some stuff on that show that should probably never see the light of day ever again, but at the same time, the round Robin between Baby Brian Danielson, Baby Chrisopher Daniels, and Low Ki was some pretty amazing stuff, even just to see those guys so young.
@@knightshousegames that's a fair point. I mostly just wanted it to show where they've come from PPV wise from first to the soon to be last(maybe). And the main event is Kenta/mcguiness vs danielson/morishima which I found to be a good match.

Part of me wishes their last show would be "The Era of Honor Ends" and they'd bring back Danielson, Daniels, and Low Ki, and do that main event again. And just basically bring back all the ROH legends for one last show, Punk, Danielson, Daniels, Samoa Joe, James Gibson, Steve Corino, Homicide, The Briscoes and so on.
I mean, some guys obviously won't be able to come back like Kevin Steen, El Generico, Tyler Black, Claudio Castagnoli, and so on, but it's just fun to imagine just a celebration of that era of the indie scene.
2007 was one of the greatest years in wrestling and that cena vs umaga match is one of the greatest matches of all time. umaga is one of the best samoans in wrestling and i cant believe that we got that last man standing match AND such and amazing royal rumble on the same night

This was my first PPV while watching wrestling, truly bringing back so many memories. Had to buy a new DVD cause I watched John Cena vs Umaga so many times. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Watching this at age 8 and seeing Taker walk out at #30 and destroy Khali made me feel sooooo warm and fuzzy in my tum tum. ❤️❤️
This was a very underrated ppv. The tag match was awesome as always; the ECW Championship match was decent, but had a stupid ending as Simon stated; the World Heavyweight Championship was a lot of fun and made Mr. Kennedy look legit; the Cena vs Umaga Last Man Standing match was really good; and the Royal Rumble itself was up there with the best rumbles of all time.
The royal rumble match is my favorite gimmick match of all time. You can argue with me all you want to, but the royal rumble will always be number one

I think doing a Retro Ups and Downs for Taboo Tuesday 2004, a PPV that was ahead of it’s time, would be cool
2006-2009 really was a strange era in WWE history, because so much great, underrated stuff happened in that time....and I can't remember any of it.

I think it was around this time that i started watching wrestling as a whole. I remember it was sometime between this Rumble and before Wrestlemania 23. Such good times.

Loved how fun that Rumble was. ECW was still a big thing at the time so it was nice when things got extreme. It's rare to see weapons get heavily involved in rumbles like that

Nitro august 17 1998 the warrior wcw debut!! Paul white vs Goldberg, Eddie Guerrero shoots and quits plus tons of of nwo Hollywood and wolf pack themes playing ever opportunity they get!
Used to go to every WWE event when they came in Dallas/Fort Worth all the way back to the Reunion Arena days before it was torn down. I was there with my buddies at this show. It was hard to understand the backstage segments as some of the audio didn’t start playing in the stadium right away. I remember we couldn’t understand much until we all heard “damn!” And that’s all it took to get a pop 😂. Also, as soon as Sabu set up the table, we all were 99% sure he was going through it. Vince had already made it clear that most of the the old ECW guys were just glorified “enhancement talent”. We were just hoping Sabu wouldn’t break any bones… again.
I watched Taker vs Shawn here as Simon suggested, and now I'm rapidly bleeding out in a room full of blood soaked cats. Thanks Simon.

TNA Destination X 2008. I was at this show and it features a fish market street fight as well as a Elevation X match.

Cena vs Umaga is still the best last man standing match of all time. The only one close to it for me is HHH/HBK at Bad Blood 04.

It's kind of crazy that Tensai didn't work for albert but Umaga worked for Jamal from 3 minute warning, i guess 3 minute warning isn't nearly as well remembered as albert, and that he was actually samoan, instead of albert who felt like a cultural insult.
