He not only cleanly jumped over a person, but a person with a costume mask on which made it harder, and he literally folded himself in half, 8 feet in the air to make that dunk. He had the best one for sure. The athletic ability that took, couldn’t be matched by anybody on this list except maybe Lavigne.

Vince in 2000 was the last time you were hype and up out your seat for a dunk contest. There’s been a couple good ones between then and now but most of the LEGENDARY DUNKS came from 04 and before. There’s only one dunk that was memorable and cemented as a Legendary dunk after that time and that’s the Aaron Gordon/Zack Levine contest from 2016 where he did the under the butt seated dunk. Everything else was flash in the pan stuff.

I truly believe that Erving, MJ, Wilkins, and Carter would have all been performing similar dunks to Levine and Gordon if they all would have been in their primes at the same time. That would have been an unreal dunk contest. But I still think Levine would have taken the crown in the end.

I think people tend to under-appreciate the elbow dunk. Like, there's a reason ppl in the crowd (as well as the players) had that reaction. Like, it's not flashy, nor is the difficulty obvious at first glance, but when you step back and think about what he just did, it's fucking impressive. You gotta have legit hops to be able to get your elbow IN in the hoop.
