Under other in the computer, "view monitor" is huge. Basically, you can use the minimap from the monitor and follow people from the terminal. This lets you type in commands to disable mines, doors, and turrets a lot more quickly. In addition, if you are holding a walkie, you can talk while typing, so its perfect for people playing mission control
I’m sure you knew this already but for others reading the comment: you can also type “switch” either by itself or followed by a player name into the terminal while you view the monitor and it will swap between player icons like the grey button does on the other monitor!! If you just type “switch” I believe it cycles through the player list every time you type it and hit enter (including the person on the ship) but if you type another player’s name after it, it will swap to that person’s icon. I believe with that function the word “view ___” also works.
In my two days of playing I've found out you can just type "buy flashlight" from the computer menu screen and then you can just type either 'c' or 'd' rather than the whole words to confirm or deny the purchase.
You can also negate the "buy" and just type the name in, with some items having shortened names like "walkie". The c or d thing is suuuuper nice info though!

A thing I don't see most people do when in groups is designating a group to the main entrance and the other to the fire exit. If the fire exit is further from the main entrance then that means more ground is covered and more items are collected or taken outside to safety. The most optimal team formation for each nr of players in the game 1 player- just take the main entrance and grab stuff as quickly as possible before the monsters come out the vents 2 player- one to the fire exit and one to the main entrance. 3/4 players- one on the ship (so he can monitor/ teleport/ open doors/disable turrets) and the rest through the entraces. 1) buy a teleporter as soon as you can, it saves lives or saves money since you don't need to worry about retrieving bodies 2) buy a pro flashlight as soon as you can since it lasts long enough for you to be done exploring inside (also if you turn the flashlight and unequip the item, don't drop it!! It will attach to your body so you don't need to hold it in your hands) 3) when you enter the building don't just walk around, you are wasting time, keep running and grab as much stuff as you can while dropping them outside the building, this works for the harder planets like Titan where you can get +300 currency worth of items by just grabbing the first stuff you see in the first rooms.

10:00 me and my friends have a theory since it's like an alien octopus, and you can hear it like slurping or something in the background when the little shutter opens, we think it just eats the scrap you give it. essentially you are like enslaved or something in a cycle of just feeding whatever the hell you are feeding until you eventually fail to do so and are "fired"
I only realized I was playing the game on ultra hard mode because of your videos… it asked me to set the brightness until I could barely see the shape, I guess I was too close and so I’ve just been essentially playing with sunglasses this whole time… no wonder the stock flashlight was absolutely useless
One thing I really don't understand about the game is whether you have to dedicate the final day of your quota to selling your scrap or whether you'll be taken there automatically at the end of the final day. No guide I've read has mentioned this and I haven't played the game enough to figure it out myself.
Always go to the company when you have zero days left as a rule of thumb, sometimes the company will buy for more than 100% but its rare, so just as a rule of thumb just sell when there's zero days left, giving you 3 total days to loot stuff :P
@@AquathStuff Oh so is it 3 days to gather stuff then a spare day to report back to the company? When I was playing I was only looting for 2 days then returning to the company on "1 day remaining".
@@nebuelleyes, 3 days for looting, then u have to return to the company. If I recall correctly there's even a penalty for returning too early which kinda devalues the scrap u collected or smth like that? Either way, always worth going for 3 days
a good strat is to not sell immediately when the scanner says you have enough to meet the quota as you truly don't due to the tax, just wait until the final day THEN sell
Watching all your videos I wanna say that I am impressed with how quickly you improved, here (and in your first videos) you sound kinda awkward, very nervous and clearly reading a script, but not even a month later you already do it basically like a pro Great job
Depends on how much loot and where the beam is, but its definitely not always possible lol. Stuff like signs, bolts, cash registers and engines are incredibly heavy
Unless there was an update, I've never missed a skill jump (what we call it) regardless of how much weight you are holding. What I noticed from your attempt was you are jumping way too early, you have the trust the buggy hitbox of the platform and jump later. @@AquathStuff
Kept ordering stuff from the store but legitimately had no idea how to get it after i bought it. I ignored the lil music that plays when a store drop delivers. Im so dumb so this guide was super helpful 😭

I can't figure out how to use mine. Whenever I type view monitor it says that this action was not compatible with this object
