This seems quite accurate, at least for my in game playthrough Pokemon. With the exception of Crobat and Gardevoir, I've used all of the Pokemon on the list.
Latest playthrough I did didn't use a Luxray, for the first time ever, on the other hand, first time I've ever used a floatzel and now it's my favorite mon
It's funny, I've only used 2 of these 10 in fully evolved forms, Garyados and Alakazam if we don't include evolution lines as a whole, and in all games I've beaten, I took Garyados to topple the champion, easily the one I've used most
You did nail it with Luxray, Garevoir, Lucario and Gyarados. My special mention would be Mylotic, because despite how hard it is to get, I basically try to get one in every playthrough I do, although I don't always succeed. It's my favourite Pokémon
I wish I had two copies of bw2 because there's so many good pokemon in the unova dex. i wanted to use lucario again, because wow, riolu before the first gym? dream come true!! but i ended up going with a team of my favourites.
Actually, if we exclude Legendaries and Ultra Beasts from the Ultra games, Galar has the largest regional Pokedex. This does not excuse Gamefreak from the National Pokedex AT ALL (stand up for our mons) but I will defend them for Pokemon diversity at least in the region.
I trained a Riolu from about level 5-7 to level 30 something in two days during a regular play through before I got the mega ring (I did this in x and y)
My 2 Kirlia evolved after the last fight with Wally. I was sad about that because I wanted a Gallade AND Gardevoir, and then Wally proceeded to give me the stone that would have given me a Gallade. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Uncle Dane Wannabe Sinnoh had luxray, lucario, staraptor, garchomp, gliscor, infernape, drapion, toxicroak, abamasnow, and added magmortar, electivire, mamoswine, gallade, weaville, and magenzone. Not the best game but did have the coolest Pokémon
Not really. It has a god awful 4x weakness to electric, not to mention being pretty average in the speed department and a tad lacking in the defense stat. A very strong pokemon but not OP imo.
I never used Magneton specifically. When I used it in Sinnoh (Diamond) I evolved it right away so basically ended up with Magnezone. I have NEVER used Alakazam and in fact it is the only trade evolution pokemon in ANY version (including item trades) that I have never used in a playthrough team mostly because I either didn't have someone to trade with or I had a psychic type already lined up, usually someone like Lugia or Gardivoir, and never liked doubling up types on my teams unless I was doing a type specialist playthrough. Every other Pokemon on this list I have used and Luxray, Staraptor and Lucario made up three of the six Pokemon on my very first playthrough of Platinum.
"if you have a sibling or a friend who's willing to trade" Don't forget people like me who have no friends interested in Pokemon and have both versions of Pokemon. Thus you trade with yourself
With Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter. It’s what I do with my digital Gen 6 copy of Pokemon Y with my physical Gen 6 copy of Pokemon X. Same case for Omega Ruby: Physical Copy; Alpha Sapphire: Digital Copy, and both Physical Copies of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
I didn't even realize he said that until I rewatched that part. 😂 "If you have access to a sibling. Any sibling. It doesn't necessarily have to be yours."
I always get an arcanine in any game that has it, it looks dope af and has good stats, kinda surprised it got no megaevolution and it didnt appear on this list, and i've never used a magnezone ever like what? Some playthroughs i dont even catch it
I was safe until he mentioned Gardevoir and I recalled that I had one that was like my main sweeper in my Omega Ruby playthrough. Lucario got me too as it’s literally given to you in X and Y.
"Alakazam" *imagine having friends or another 3/DS to trade lmao* 😥 The only time I'll probably think about using trade mons are in alola and galar since they appear in the wild
EnderTech21 that’s kinda why I liked gen 5 most. There was a chance to catch some of the trade mons in the wild. Granted they were very rare to find (kingdra, milotic, etc) but you could catch one. Of course not all trade moms were available, but some of them were.
When I played in Pokemon Emerald and saw Wally cacht his Ralts I spend hours looking for one and when I caught it, it became the 2nd strongest pokemon on my team
I always go for a female ralts just to get Gardevoir then check stats before evolving it Gardevoir is op and I always have it learn magical leaf as coverage
Out of these, I've used: Crobat Gyarados Mareep (not Ampharos bc I never actually finished Heart Gold 😅) And, though I've never used a Gardevoir, I have actually used a Gallade - twice! Worth the wait :)
For Lucario, literally just throw on the EXP share and clear the Canalave gym. That's and easy 25 or so levels, and you can raise it to around 30 before taping a Soothe Bell to it to evolve it very quickly.
Also wanted to check gen 2 when I saw he missed that, but it seems it was only HGSS and it makes sense they'd go the extra mile, as it's a special anniversary Pokemon game.
He said early game. In HGSS you don't have access to them until after you beat Red, whereas in all the games he's listed you get them at least prior to the second gym. In Ultra sun Ultra moon they are available on route 3, Seaward Cave and route 2 through island scanning
Gyrados is one of my favorite Pokémon Bc of my bdsp play through, that thing clutched against cynthias garchomp as it was the only one who could do consistent damage to the garchomp with the addition of it being only level 36 or maybe 37 or 38 but that’s still under leveled when everyone else on my team was on/over leveled
holy frick magikarp evolves into gyarados at level 20 gyarados has a bst higher than fully evolved starters, and it can defeat cynthias garchomp underleveled if you know what you are doing
@IcyDéylanoVDV I don't see anything wrong with luxary but with charizard.... I agree with you there it is WAY TOO overrated it's just unfair to the other starters bulbasur and squirtle And they gave it TWO mega evolution like seriously what the hell game freak. Charizard is basically game freak's pet they keep feeding it mechanics they introduce mega evolution, gigantamax but hey at least that stupid thing didn't get its own z-move and for greninja.... I don't love or hate it, I am neutral towards it
@IcyDéylanoVDV and also why the hell would anyone choose mega charizard x? Cause it's now a dragon type and it looks cooler? No that's a terrible reason! And why would you make it a physical attacker? It's supposed to be a special attacker sure it might be useful like 5% of the time but it's so situational mega charizard y is way better
I use gardevior in every hoenn playthrough, love lucario, have used gyarydos many times, and had an abra, but nobody to trade with once I evolved it into Kadabra : (
I have used: All 3 kanto starters at least twice each Magneton (for a very short time in alola) Ampharos once Gardevoir once Lucario four times Gyarados once Lapras twice Im a relatively new fan, getting my start in gen 5 so ive never played through sinnoh, meaning ive never used staraptor or luxray Also in my opinion arcanine should be on this list (which i have used twice)
@@chuuyas89bottleofpetrus7 well, it was the worst gen to start with because it had the worst pokemon designs of alle games to this day. not a single cool looking pokemon and it doesn't surprise me the slightest that we don't have a single gen 5 mon on this list. i mean, who in their right mind would use an ugly zoroark or any other gen 5 mon if u can use literally anything else. and before u tell me about how great the story was: who in their right mind cares about the story in a pokemon game.
@@wruzzer first of all, I have much more than a pathetic story argument because I agree, even if I enjoyed the story myself I know other people might not care. Second of all, are you telling me that Gen five really has the worst Pokemon designs in all of the games? I'm guessing you're probably a gen one fan, or even maybe a gen two. There are much worse designs in other generations. Here are some examples from gen two alone because it was the first one to come to mind: Ledyba, including its evolution, every single baby Pokemon (ex. Pichu, Cleffa , Igglybuff, Elekid, Magby etc.), Natu, Bellosom (Vileplume is fine, but Bellossom was unnecessary), Sudowoodo, Politoed (again, completely unessasary), Hoppip and its entire evolutionary line, Flowey- I mean Sunflora, Girafarig, Pineco, Dunsparce, Granbull and Snubbul and I will stand by that even with the fairy typing, Qwilfish, Remoraid and Octillary, Delibird, Stantler, Smeargle, just to name some. If I wanted to, I could give you a list of every bad Pokemon from every generation whether it be by design, stat, or battle standards, even gen five, but of course that would make no sense given how that is the generation i am defending. Of course, this is all my personal opinion, you could go on with your day and completely disregard this and I wouldn't be able to find it in my to care, but don't try to put down other people who enjoy something because you don't like it.
@@chuuyas89bottleofpetrus7 my favorite gens are gen 3, gen 6, gen 4 (excluding gen 2 remakes), gen 1 in that order. gen 2 and gen 5 are pretty even being the worst gens ever made, but gen 2 has the benefit of being very old and there are at least some cool designs while gen 5 has nothing at all.

Staraptor and Luxray are incredibly cool indeed, and I always have a flying type and an electric type in every playthrough! I used Raichu in Gen 1 and it was nice having fast coverage against all of those water and flying types. It's far from bulky but still was quite useful. (Edit: Now that I checked the base stats of Gen 1 Pokemon, I can see that Jolteon is superior to Raichu in all stats except attack, but you can't get Jolteon until much further into the game.)
I only used a Raichu in Gen 7. It was pretty nice to have it but its defense was pretty low and every time I used it, it would normally get knocked out.
