Pretty reasonable list, but I think Parasect is slow because the parasite controlling the crab thing's body probably doesn't know how to make it move properly yet
Parasect really is one of the creepiest Pokémon. It's actually my main reason not to makes Paras evolves into it : you are basically killing the insect by evolving it
@@tinkerer3399 that would make the final evolution a little bit less creepy since it's just like a fair trade type deal, the mushroom gives its life for the baby Paras, then the Paras gives its life to the mushroom.
Hopefully, it won't have a 4x weakness this time, make it grass poison it losses it's bug type because the insect is almost completely absorbed into the mushroom.
I have an idea for Mega Parasect: The Parasect itself would look normal, but instead of standing, it would lie, collapsed under mushroom's weight. The mushroom itself would be bigger and more "open" (looking more like Foongus) and it would be veiled in greenish-yellowish cloud of spores. Its ability would be Spore Control (I'm not good at naming...), and it would basically make an opponent behave like an overlevelled trade Pokemon (lore: the spores control other Pokemon just like they control Paras). Ofc it wouldn't work in any circumstance in which Spore doesn't work. Would be 100% banned from competitive, but really cool imo.
@@emperorcubone It's both meganium and johto's fault.I could see meganium being grass-fairy...Even if fairy didn't exist, one hacker discovered it was going to in gen one...Or maybe grass-dragon or grass-psychic,or grass-normal could all be way better types for meganium.
all johto starters are incredibly underwhelming due to their mono typing, with all 3 of them being completely useless in a competitive sense. I think it is unfair to single out meganium for them though. maybe when they get megas
@@MeriadocMyr I agree tbh all the starters needed to be dual types in their final formers, maybe in gen 8 we'll get a grass/fairy meganium, a water/steel feraligator and a fire poison or dark typholision, cause I love meganium
I used to like meganium quite a bit, but after trying to use one in a nuzlocke challenge, I completely hated it. I easily started to hate it because of its dull and boring design, lack of moves that weren't grass type, and just so many other things. Easily one of my least favorite starters, and pokemon in general.
@@fishnutz5196 honestly think if they kept the blade on its head(or made it bloom somehow idk), added the flower and ditched the antennae I'd look better
I tried using a Parasect in Pokemon Firered recently, it's super bad , especially in gen 3. It learns Giga Drain at level 51 and grass was special and it's special atk is low (base sp of 60) So i had to use 2 Growths to do some dmg .I had to use Slash and pray for crits to kill anything most of the time , Spore was the only good thing to use.
I gave my Parasect Quick Claw and made a moderate success with it. Having a good chance of out speeding despite your slow speed, and guarantee a sleep with spore was actually pretty decent. But yea, without Spore being an OP move, Parasect is pretty bad.
And there are better Mushroom Pokémon to use anyway. Amoongus is more bulky (especially if it has regenerator), and Shiinotic has better special attack, and some good move selection (including Strength Sap). Breloom is somewhat different, but it's also excellent.
@@DrawciaGleam02 Given you have a better Grass Type already (and a better bug type too actually), that it don't have any Physical Grass Type attack in this version (since Seed Bomb, its only doesn't exist already), your only reason would be STAB Leech Life, and Spore. I'm no expert, but that doesn't seems so good. It may actually be better in USUM, despite having more opposition.
Eh, destiny bond only has 5 pp and lasts for a single turn, use a two turn attack to kill it right when destiny bond expires and or a non-attack move 5 times to use up destiny bond. It's annoying to deal with, but has never killed a pokémon in my nuzlockes. Poison, Burn, Sleeping or Freezing it works too. First two to kill it which doesn't affect destiny bond, the other two so you can stop it from using destiny bond and kill it.
I'm am still scarred by Tentacool and Zubat. Stupid child me didn't know what Repels were for. That Gen 1 Zubat screech is burned forever into my mind.
They desperately need to remove the whole "your pokemon's speed determines whether you can flee from wild pokemon" mechanic. It makes using slow pokemon during a playthrough so much more annoying for no reason. Make it based on your pokemon's level compared to the wild pokemon's level or something. Anything that doesn't favor some pokemon (fast ones) and punish others (slow ones). Slow pokemon are already at a disadvantage given the fact that they have to endure attacks from most enemy pokemon before they can hit and KO them, which is tougher in-game when you don't heal between battles. They shouldn't be further penalized by needing to eat 3 attacks from some wild Zubat you're trying to run away from that refuses to let you go.
Dude, I used to think mega charizard x was awesome, but now I hate it. He and mega mewtwo x are just fan service. Their y counterparts are much better. I don't see why they even made the concept of 2 different megas. It is also totally unfair that charizard got 2, but the other 2 got one. If you are going to have 2 megas, do it for all of em.
I used to hate Charizard, but warmed up (I'm not sorry) to it's Y mega. MC Y's Drought plus Solarbeam and STAB Flamethrower will wreck anythinng under a very hot sun
Woah. I just came off of watching some of your old videos, and you sound a lot more interested and energetic in this one than your old ones. Keep it up!
The funny thing is, I've disliked Pelipper for years, but not for the same reasons. What annoys me is that AI-controlled Pelipper in Gen 3 would always, and I mean _always,_ open with Protect. However, I decided to give the Pokemon a shot in my currently-ongoing playthrough of Omega Ruby... and it's actually fairly decent. Granted it has among the lowest BSTs in my team (the lowest barring Megas), but it still gets the job done... for now. As of writing, I still need to go through Victory Road. The Pelipper I am using right now is named Gulliver and has a Calm nature (+Sp. Def, -Attack). Coupled with knowing Supersonic and Roost as two of his current moves, he makes for a surprisingly good wall, and even without the buffs present in Gen 7, he still hits fairly hard with Surf and Air Cutter (kind of on the fence on whether or not I want to go with Hurricane right now, though I will replace Supersonic with Ice Beam in the near future). He unsurprisingly solo'd both Brawly and Flannery, but perhaps my favorite achievement came in the attempt to catch Primal Groudon. For this battle, I specifically swapped out Roost for Soak, as I had the TM for the former to easily switch back. Opening with Gulliver, I had him use Soak to ironically turn Primal Groudon into a Water-type. (Yeah, apparently Desolate Land only blocks _damaging_ Water-type moves. It became that which it hates!) Without STAB, the Primal Groudon wasn't strong enough to be able to one-shot Fleur (my Roserade) with any of its moves, allowing for a much easier time hitting with Sleep Powder and weakening it with Giga Drain. When Fleur would inevitably faint, though, Gulliver was able to take over and stall for recovery due to his resistance or immunity to Primal Groudon's attacks so I could set up the process anew. Also, I like to think that, in-universe, Peeko has a crush on him now due to him being the one to effectively save her, but that's neither here nor there. *;)*
I have 3 reasons I don't like Pelipper… 1: It's really common. 2: Drizzle, why did they give it that, it just made it more annoying! 3: It looks like a flying toilet.
I don’t particularly like Wingull and Pelipper, but I have a good experience of it being my first shiny in a ‘locke. Granted, it was in ORAS, but it was AMAZING
You can't just dislike 112 Pokémon like that. Jokes aside, I thought maybe Spiritomb's 108 souls are actually human in nature. Maybe they created the weapons of mass destruction in Kalos?
Why do you need to seal 108 souls though. If your a soul you are dead. The dead cant do no more harm. Unless they were 108 evil ghost pokemon. That makes me think. A ghost pokemon can never die. Dont take it to church lol. Its will unsummon.
Spiritomb doesn’t make any sense. So it’s made from 108 souls that needed to be locked away. But there are more than one spiritomb in existence. So every Spiritomb that exists is made up of 108 different souls? Was there multiple groups of exactly 108 people that needed to all be locked away? Or is it the same 108 souls? I don’t get it
108 is a supernatural unlucky sort of evil number in Buddhist beliefs I think like 4 is bad in Japan cause it's spelled like death or 13 is unlucky and 666 is the devils number
in the hoopa movie there is a black rayquaza summoned, but we also see a green rayquaza in the anime, implying that there are two rayquazas, one shiny one regular, so the "unique history but not unique pokemon" issue is pretty common
Given by Pokémon go, each one is made up of a separate 108 souls. In A Spooky Message Unmasked, Professor Willow explains something a long the line of “Each spiritomb is 108 souls so it’s bad that more are showing up”
I used a parasect in the blue virtual console and it carried me through the entirety of the game. Even taking out my rivals venasuar. My tip is to not use it against a fire type.
As for Chikorita, the first gym is Flying type... But it doesn't have any flying type moves that can damage her. She also does the best out of any of the starters against Whitney because of Reflect to lower the damage, while also having access to Poison Powder and Synthesis to whittle down Miltank and keep itself healed. The later gyms it also does quite well against, such as being super effective against all of Pryce, against one of Chuck's Pokemon, and being neutral against Morty. By the time you get to Claire and the Elite 4, you should more than have a team that can fill in where Chikorita isn't the best, but the same is true for any of the starters.
I used a Lilligant in my playthrough of Pokemon White, and was BAFFLED at how terrible its learnset was. But instead of hating it, I am fueled with righteous fury towards GameFreak for screwing over one of my favorite Pokemon. Instead of fixing it and giving it more type coverage, they went and "replaced" it with _Hisuian Lilligant._ Which they gave great move options like Drain Punch, Leaf Blade, Poison Jab, Ice Spinner, Triple Axel, Acrobatics, and an overpowered signature move in the form of Victory Dance (a physical version of Quiver Dance). It's appearances loses all the dainty charm of the original as well (and weirdly long legs just don't do it for me, I get what they were going for, making it a dancer, but it looks gross). Meanwhile, regular Lilligant only gets entirely grass moves, Pollen Puff, and Alluring Voice (which gets completely walled by fire types and steel types). Its only purpose is to be a sleep powder support, and not even access to Quiver Dance helps it much (which is baffling, considering how busted that move is on other Pokemon), even though it has pretty good Sp. Atk and Speed stats, and access to the ability Chlorophyll! All this to say... I've grown to dislike Hisuian Lilligant. I am shiny hunting Petilil in Legends Arceus so I can transfer it to a different game and get a non-Hisuian Shiny Lilligant.
Ms. Maggius I think that all three of the gen 2 starters have great final evolution designs, but all in all, Typhlosion is my all time favorite starter, and Pokémon in general
@@realquestforgreatness depending on it's moveset. The EVs being invested in Sp.Atk and split between Def/Sp.Def. but that's my prefrence. I need a tank that can fight.
Aesthetically, Chikorita/Meganium line is my favorite grass type line, Treecko line close second. But I love it’s design so much I don’t care it’s not the greatest. ❤️
I despise pelipper. First encounter with one was on Moon (first actual pokemon game I had played) and it just wouldn't stop calling for help and using roost. I didn't want to run, but that encounter took so long, and made me so frustrated that I have no hesitation saying that I hate that pokemon more than any other in any of the other games I've played so far.
@@emperorcubone As an ex-Yugioh player who got bored of seeing the same decks over and over, I get the feeling. Don't play much competitive in any game because of that, when playing just for fun the amount of different things you play against is huge.
@@emperorcubone See, this is one reason why I only use theme teams or monotype teams in Showdown. When I bring a theme team to an OU battle, my opponent will see Pokemon that you typically don't see in OU, which they hopefully appreciate. Meanwhile I'm stuck fighting the same Chansey, Ferrothorn, Landorus-T, and Tapu Koko (or some other Tapu) over and over again.
@@LeahLovesNature Oh my from what ive seen people dont seem to know what a theme team is e.g. this video (check the comments) th-cam.com/video/FA5NwYOli88/w-d-xo.html
Emperor Cubone really the best way I can see competitive thriving is for game freak to follow the footsteps of other competitive games and utilities balance patches to add stuff every now and then (and not just lock the changes in a new game that comes out a year after). This is why games splatoon managed to get a thriving competitive scene because it always had an update every few months that added new weapons and balance changes, as a result made the community to adapt or adjust old strategies and with the new weapons come up with new ones. Imagine this with Pokémon, “oh look an update let’s see the changes, a wow this Pokémon got a new move and wow this ones speed was buffed, I wonder how I can utilise this change”. I honestly believe that balance patches (with buffs and nerfs) can make the scene more dynamic (and force players to rethink their strategies) and not stagnate a month after a new game comes out.
I used Wobbuffet on my team for Shield. It was surprisingly good, I managed to take down the dark and fire gym with it. Wobbuffet is good, y'all are just mean.
Serperior is a bad Grass starter evolution it is bad cause it doesn't take one hit from water types which is ridiculous cause there not using ice type or flying moves just water where oshawott and its evolutions can tank electric type moves even Tepig and its line can take Earthquakes and hydro pump well serperior glass that doesn't work
@@JetblackJay I just wanted you to recognize how ridiculous you are when you say Serperior "can't take hits". Glass? Have you ever even looked at it's stats? Meganium has 80/100/100 bulk as a baseline. Serperior has 75/95/95, which is virtually the same. Combined with a slightly better movepool (Really Glare single handedly carried Serperior) and 113 speed compared to Meganium's 80, Serperior was better in gen 5. That isn't even everything, because I'm obviously ommiting gen 6+ Serperior's hidden ability in Contrary, which is a busted af ability. Honestly Serperior would be broken if it wasn't originally a bad Pokemon. And if Serperior was bad, Meganium was leagues worse.
I get Serperior has Glare but it can't take hits or deal enough damage it fails me every time at least with meganium I can set up for my other members on my team also the hidden Ability are hidden for a reason there overpowered imagine Blastoise woth Drizzle almost Unstoppable unless u have a electric type because it gets ice beam so no grass today
El Mejorge I just took the chatot as an honorable mention because why would he put a random Pokémon on the thumbnail if it had nothing to do with the vid
If Wobbuffett creates a challenge for people in a Nuxlocke, that is a good thing. I watch Nuzlockers where none of the Pokemon "die" after a very early point in the game, if that's the case there is little point to the Nuzalocke, you might as well just do a regular run but ban Pokemon you gravitate toward.
Despite never playing Scarlet or Violet, I have an irrational hatred for the Pawmot line... - All three of the evolutions look _almost exactly the same._ I know people joke that evolution is just "the same thing but bigger," but these guys took it literally. - Its like they came up with the one design, but wanted to make it more "unique" so they sized it up a little to justify it, then slapped on a fighting typing. - Its undeserving of its signature Electric/Fighting typing (nothing about it looks like a fighting type, and its dex entries don't mention anything to really justify it being uniquely fighting type). That should have been given to Zeroara. - Its hogging one of the strongest physical Electric attacks all to itself, which has NO RIGHT to be a signature move. Seriously "Double Shock" sounds like the kind of move _any_ electric type should be able to learn (It also _isn't_ a 2-hit move, despite its name, so it makes no sense... Imagine if "Double Kick" only hit once but was 120 power... That's what this move is like). - Its dex entries are probably the most boring entries I've ever seen. - Its the ugliest Pika-Clone so far, particularly _after_ it evolves. - They randomly gave it one of the best moves ever (Revival Blessing) for seemingly no reason. There is no justification for it, its just kinda given to this generic electric gerbil. The amount of privileges this thing has compared to other Pika-Clones (who get _no_ special treatment), is dumb-founding, and I hate it with a burning passion.
@@lasercraft32 I'll let you have the rest of your points, but I respectfully disagree with you about Pawmot looking ugly. And I did some research and the reason for its "signature move", its Fighting type and Revival Blessing, I'll explain it one in one: Apparently, they were trying to making this Pikaclone some kind of doctor Pokemon. The "Double Shock" move, added to Pawmot's technique to discharge electricity from its paws is based on defibrillation (they put two pads on your chest around the location of your heart which deliver a dose of electricity to the heart), which is why it isn't a double hit move. Also, Double-Edge isn't a 2-hit move so Its Fighting type and Pawmo learning Arm Thrust on evolution is based on CPR (the chest compression part) and Revival Blessing, for the same reason as Double Shock (it's called "Recovery Prayer" in Japan, so it certainly uses its hands). But I don't know, this isn't executed that perfectly and its evos could use some more distinguishing features design wise. At the very least, I appreciate what they were going for when they split it into three evos. It's kinda like they weren't just making a Pikachu clone, they were making a clone of the entire Pikachu line. And that is very cool.
@@MrRuePine If Pawmot was supposed to be a doctor with defribulator hands, why does its Pokedex say NOTHING about it? The whole thing has such a bizarre and nonsensical concept, its like they tried to do multiple ideas at once and did none of them well.
@@lasercraft32 It's Double Shock because Pawmot uses both its forepaws at the same time to strike electricity. That one is told in its Pokedex entries. *The amount of privileges this thing has compared to other Pika-Clones (who get no special treatment)* Morpeko has a Signature ability which makes its signature move AND appearance change every turn. The Pikaclones from at least since Gen 5 have dual types, but mono Electric is not bad for the rest. And didn't Pachirisu once win a Pokemon World Championship? This one's one privilege is an evo line, because they simply want to go original with future Pikaclones. I only agree with you when you say it needed more design. *All three of the evolutions look almost exactly the same. I know people joke that evolution is just "the same thing but bigger," but these guys took it literally. Its like they came up with the one design* While I agree with that, I've seen lot of fan redesigns that not only look pretty "Nah" but made them look completely less like Pokemon, so maybe the simplicity isn't that bad. It could use some more features on the design for a start. *Its the ugliest Pika-Clone so far, particularly after it evolves.* I respectfully disagree with your opinion.
@@lasercraft32 Double Edge isn't a 2 hit move either, what's your point? Also, doesn't Double Shock remove the Electric typing? That's the Electric type version of Gust.
You haven’t seen memorable moments of wobbuffet? Watch tyranitar tube’s Pokémon insurgence nuzlocke, you’ll feel better about wobbuffet. #leavetheburgeralone
I know someone going to cry blasphemy when they read this, but I am completely indifferent to Pikachu. Pikachu used to be on my top 5 most liked list but as time, and overexposure, went on Pikachu continued to climb down my list until it reached the point of me just not caring one way or the other about it. Yes, I think Pikachu is cute, just not as much as it used to be to me; yes, I find its cry quite cute, and still do, but now it has a lot of baggage tied to it. I don't dislike Pikachu, but I don't like it either. I get it, Pikachu is the mascot of the series for a reason but doesn't mean I'm going to go along with the crowd. And yes, I find Zubat, Wingull, and Tentacool to all be rather annoying with their encounter rates. But hey, that's just how I feel about all that
Amusingly, my preference for a pokemon hardly ever boils down to its move pool. There are some Pokemon I personally like that I wish would get a larger move pool and other things to get them a bit more love, like Farfetch'd. Farfetch'd had consistently stayed in my Top 20 list for years, mostly due to the nostalgia of it being my favorite back during the Original Generation, but over the years its move pool has barely grown, it hasn't gotten any abilities or special items that can help it casual or competitive play, and it just seems to be mostly forgotten by the Pokemon Community as a whole. To me, Farfetch'd will always be memorable but for most of the Pokemon community, it seems to be just flat out ignored or forgettable. I was really hoping that with the Regional forms being introduced in Gen 7, something I still think is cool and want to see more of as the series moves forward, and the announcement that the treatment was being limited to Kanto Pokemon at the time that Farfetch'd might finally get something to enter the consciousness of the fanbase again but it seems the Dev team didn't even consider Farfetch'd for the treatment, even with the adjustments introduced in Ultra Sun and Moon. I am still hoping that Farfetch'd gets something to make it more viable in casual or competitive play in Gen 8, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
@Juice The Orange Yoshi I'm with you on that. Farfetch'd needs more loves, maybe it will get an evolution and variant form in an upcoming mainline Pokemon game, I really hope that will be true
You have learn how to use Wobbuffet which is the key thing. Sure that doesn't change much about how much you like it, but it can be very handy. Especially Gen IV Johto games when catching Raikou and Entei.
When it comes to Pokemon I've grown to dislike, Clefable comes to mind. Now tbh, I don't really dislike that many Pokemon, I think there's really only three Pokemon I actually really dislike, and Clefable is certainly one of them. Now tbh, I don't like most Fairy types (Fairy is my least favorite type mind you,) but ever since I started doing more battles in SwSh, Clefable started to rub me the wrong way when doing raids against it. I've had horrendous experiences with it all thanks to it spamming Minimize and Moonlight constantly. It was so hard to hit, and not even my Corviknight could hit it with Steel Wing. It was a pain to battle against because of this.
Everyone who complains about Meganium says that it isn't viable in battle at all but I've never had any problem with it. Meganium was my MVP and pulled its weight.
Honestly, a Pokémon that I used to absolutely adore was Pikachu. Now, I don't hate Pikachu; I think it's adorable and a decent battler. There are just other Pokémon I've opened up to. For instance, I used to despise Eevee, but now it's one of my favorites.
Meganium wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact Typhlosion and Feraligatr can rip everything to shreds because they are way too overpowered in comparison to... well most any other third evolution starters.
Your vids just keep getting better, bro! Liked the list a lot- really good explanations. I have played a lot of Nuzlockes; and usually use the normal clauses (like dupes/species clause and shiny clause) but always add a Wobbuffet clause to my Nuzlockes, as well. I don't mind running into an arena trap mon because they can at least be KO'd; but if you run into a Wobbuffet early game when you haven't been able to get toxic or set-up moves, yet; it doesn't seem fair to lose multiple Pokemon for good because of what is essentially a no-win situation haha.
Thank you!! I wanted to thoroughly explain so as to hopefully avoid angry comments. (I'll be sure to add a Wobbuffet clause to any Nuzlockes I might do as well).
Oh boy. If you dislike Wingull and Pelipper, I have a shiny hunting story for you! So I was shiny hunting in my copy of Pokémon Y (I had finished the national dex and wanted to hunt with the Shiny Charm) and I really wanted a shiny Mareep. So I horde hunted for it on Route 12. I got the Mareep I was hunting for, but not before encountering (and catching) a shiny Miltank and THREE shiny Wingull! =w= It’s definitely one of my more interesting shiny stories though, as Wingull is the only Pokémon I have multiple shinies of!
The Chikorita/Bayleef/Meganium is adorable. Being guy, I can understand why you'd prefer "aggressive" over "adorable. But even the steep early difficulty curve never bothered me. I always welcomed the chance to grind and level up early on.
I enjoy using Wobbuffet in battles with actual people. The guessing game is fun to me. Maybe try it out sometime. Especially with a Red Card or something.
But at least Chikorita is more useful than Bulbasaur, Chikorita learns Razor Leaf in level 8, while Bulbasaur learns it pathetically at level 20 (27 in the 1st gen), not to mention it'd be evolved into Ivysaur so it makes it level 22 (30 in 1st gen lmao), so 22/30 levels without any useful move, and after that, Bulbasaur doesn't learn anything better. While Chikorita also learns Magical Leaf and Body Slam.
I understand the hated of Parasect. I really do. But personally (and this is a theory) I believe it's so slow because it's based on the Zombie Ant Fungus. And in Western culture, zombies are depicted as slow moving hordes. Hence Paras and Parasect always appearing in large numbers together and being slow moving. But I agree with every other Pokemon on this list. Well, maybe not Wobbuffet but that's bias. My first and only shiny was a full odds accidental run in with a shiny Wobbuffet in Seavault Canyon in FireRed
On my first run of Soul Silver back when it came out, I had a Pidgeot that almost ruined the game for me. Looking in retrospect, it must have 0s across the board on his IVs and a really bad EV spread too. It was probably the worst and weakest pokémon I have ever trained.
I've had a Wobbuffett on my playthrough of ORAS, it helped me through the League. I loved annoying and overpowering trainers with Mirror Coat and Counter. And if they managed to get him down, Destiny Bond would take them with Wobbuffett :D
Meganium I find , just okay. Its not bad nor good. Too many better grass type starters, Jellicent I love the design but I admit its a good but not outstanding in game. Outside its typing I find nothing to like about Spiritomb. Friends do not let friends catch Wingulls. Teh Wobbe is a pain. I neither like nor hate Parasect. also bonus points for the LOTR reference.
actually parasect is based on a real thing, there is a fungus that grows in a ant brain and kills the ant, and when the ant is dead, controls the dead body of the ant to move around and spread spores, search "zombie ant" in google
@@diablo.the.cheater Oh I knew about that already, I think the game The Last of Us features a mutated version of the fungus that infects humans I think. Even so Parasect isn't the creepiest Pokemon in the series but it's way up there
Pelipper is the only one I really dislike, and that's because it's annoying to face without a good Electric type. Fly! Protect! Fly! Protect! Roost! Protect! Fly! Protect! Fly! Protect! Fly! Roost! Fly! Roost! Fly! Roost! Fly! Rest!
I hadn't noticed that Parasect had Dry Skin, I didn't know about the 3 x4 weakness in Gen I, poor guy... Interesting that its spores are toxic and it is weak to poison, seems the mushroom on its back knows about type match ups and that's why it took control xD
In my pokemon Emerald nuzlocke i encounterd a wobbuffet and it use destiny bond, i didnt know what the move did and use my absol to take it out and my absol died.... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know the way you feel about Meganium i feel about snivy... and personally my position is tgat Meganium is way stronger than snivy and venusaur and only a bit weaker than mega venusaur.
With you having said you don’t know competitive pokemon very well, I have to say that your complaints with Jellicent are far from unique. If you’ve ever heard the term “stall” it describes the strategy of building a team that can sit there and be bulky and heal up when necessary. Many many pokemon can fit this role including Jellicent, however things like Chansey, Clefable, Cresselia, Gliscor, Mega Sableye, etc. are much more famous for it. It just sucks because that usually works better than any other strategy so stall teams are super common, boring (and often hopeless) to fight, and they also win a lot of matches.
1:14 the things on meganium's head are not antennae, those are stamen, the male reproductive organs of plants that produce flowers, this is why on diamong and pearl the male sprite has bigger ones, i think that this is a really nice biology reference but i don't really like meganium too tbh
I am more of the casual player, who wants to play the game at his/her own pace. Becoming the strongest trainer isn't really one of my top priorities when it comes to Pokémon. I just want to have an adventure, explore the region, and even complete the pokédex.
I can’t think of many Pokémon ive grown to dislike. The best thing I can think of is Charmander since I’ve gotten so many of these things from the wonder trade. The other 2 that kind of count are tragically Chandelure and kinda Obstagoon, since they were the “signature Pokémon” of someone I had a traumatic experience with in real life a long time ago.
one Pokémon I have really grown to dislike is Blaziken. I was never too big a fan to begin with (Torchic is okay but Combusken and Blaziken are eh imo), and then in Diamond I went to the Battle Tower or whatever it's called and made the mistake of teaming up with Riley while he had his Blaziken, which is completely useless in battle. ...that, and I just got tired of the HOENN CONFIRMED BLAZIKEN IS BAKKK BIECHES meme.
@@user-lq1tp4yw3e that's true, but I prefer other Pokémon to fill the type coverage. I'm not a competitive player, so I really couldn't care less about competitive stuff, and in a regular playthrough I don't need a Fire-type or Fighting-type because I can get other mons to match up against the types that are weak against Fire or Fighting. especially since a lot of mons I like to use can learn one or two Fighting-type moves despite not being Fighting-type themselves. just a matter of preference, though. if you use Blaziken regularly, that's great, but I simply don't have an use for it.
@@louckykoneko i've only used it once in my playthrough of oras and it was pretty amazing swept through a lot even when i just used the most powerful moves cause i was a noob, but i do see where your coming from
I'm using a parasect in pokemon let's go pikachu and it's really working out well for me personally. It's more than bulky enough to withstand one attack, then you put your foe to sleep and regain your health by leech life (which now has a great 80 base power) or giga drain, which has dealt a surprising amount of damage despite it's low special attack. Meganium has also worked out well for me in pokemon gold, mainly because I used it more as a tank and support than a mindless attacker. Setting up reflects and paralyzing foes with body slam can really make a difference.
YAY! Something to enjoy after work this morning! Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the lets plays. (don't want spoilers) I'm just glad Chatot wasn't on the list. It's so cute and can make a surprising nuance of itself when using it in a playthrough! Kinda sad about Meganium being on the list. I keep mine equipped with Petal dance, synthesis, Poison Powder/Toxic and Reflect. I find my Moss can stay alive for quite some time and make a real mess of things when given half a chance... though I do agree that it does limit Meganium severely seeing as it has no good coverage moves... Feraligatr is honestly my Fave Johto starter because it can learn crunch and ice fang but is not hindered by the ice type like Lapras. :P
Oricorio, I like its design but WTF? Your main move which is your only second type stab is learnt at 40something. I had one in my ultra moon palythrough and it was kind of frustrating.
I loved what you said about parasect... I had just the same experience with it; parasect has always been one of my favorite pokémon, design wise, but could just not use it because of all the reasons you've said. Finally, let's go games made it useable if you want to try ;)
For me, it's definitely Garchomp. Back in Gen 4, I tried out the Battle Tower mode in which you downloaded other players' teams from online to battle against... and every single one of them had a Garchomp. Most of the time, my ice-user would be KOed by another Pokémon, making winning the battle completely impossible. Then, when I finally had one of my own, it was a total letdown. It must have had terrible IVs, because it got steamrolled by EVERYTHING. Oddly, Cynthia's Garchomp wasn't a problem for me, as her Togekiss made for excellent setup fodder for my Dragon Dance Gyarados.
I didn't understand the hate towards Jellicent. I had one in my Black2 team, and was pretty strong and capable of taking great damage without dying. It also had great sp. attack. And it was fun to play with it. I had one with water absorb ability, and water, grass, ghost and ice attacks. It was really fun!
If as a kid with no idea that Spiritomb was so "difficult" to get, can get one without an issue, i don't see the problem. I had no one to connect with and was just playing it as a kid would, for the fun. Still got a Spiritomb. Didn't even know they had special conditions in that game until now.
That thumbnail scared me a little. Chatot is my favorite Pokemon after all, so I'm glad you don't hate it. Also, Pelipper is one of my favorite Pokemon, but I'll respect your opinion.
I used to be neutral to Pelipper, but now it’s my least favorite Pokémon. There is really nothing to like about it. It is a toilet bird that sounds like a trumpet and a tuba had s*x. And it’s EVERYWHERE in Hoenn. I really don’t like this thing, and I don’t know anyone who does.
Breloom was always better for catching legendaries and shinies anyways. Shroomish gets spore at level 40 so if you wait a little bit to evolve it, you've got an absolute late game monster. Poison heal is amazing for long battles, spore is a super reliable status, and breloom gets false swipe, which you can swap with facade when you aren't catching stuff. Can't go wrong there.
Gallade is best for catching Pokémon anyway. Through careful breeding, you can have Mean Look, Hypnosis and False Swipe on one Pokémon. And it can learn taunt to prevent wild Pokémon from healing themselves or using Roar to run
To be fair to Chikorita, in Gold/Silver at least, it’s pretty clear they want you to pick up Mareep before Falkner; those things are EVERYWHERE in early routes
I read somewhere that Parasect got its background from ants which had completely been overtaken by Ophiocordyceps fungus. Ophiocordyceps fungus makes ants exremely sluggish and slow, ultimately leading the host high up the tree branches, where birds and other animals consume the ant. This is how the fungus spreads, kind of sad if you ask me.
I've grown to hate Groudon, because I don't really do online battles in Sun and Moon for competitive, but just for fun. Every time I go to the Festival Plaza to participate in an online battle, I see a Groudon, and no matter who I put on my team, It always kills me.
While not a game experience, I grew to dislike Greninja from my Google+ feed always being flooded with Greninja pics. I don't see the appeal, and I really disliked the absurd popularity it got.
I always assumed Parasect was slow due to the classic zombie being a slow walking entity and Parasect basically being a mushroom zombie
Parasect is Slow. Base Speed of 30.
@@gracegiver4920 he was giving parasects slowness some lore.
@@gracegiver4920 Totally lame. 😒
Pretty reasonable list, but I think Parasect is slow because the parasite controlling the crab thing's body probably doesn't know how to make it move properly yet
That's so unsettling! But I guess I could see that...
Emperor Cubone I think it’s a reference to it being a “zombie” and zombies are generally slow
Parasect really is one of the creepiest Pokémon. It's actually my main reason not to makes Paras evolves into it : you are basically killing the insect by evolving it
Is it not 4x weak to ice as well?
@@sirela7915 No. But it's 4x weak to Fire and Flying.
Mega Parasect needs to happen. It's criminal that one of the creepiest, coolest Pokemon designs/ideas ever made is so horribly bad to use.
What if it had a bigger mushroom that grew under Parasect and also sprouted its own limbs?
In the G/S beta Paras was going to get a baby form that was an insect parasite in a mushroom. Kinda showing the circle of infection.
Would be 100% banned from competitive, but really cool imo.
i don't think meganium was meant to be intimidating.
Yeah, you could say that. I could overlook that if it were only useful...
@@emperorcubone It's both meganium and johto's fault.I could see meganium being grass-fairy...Even if fairy didn't exist, one hacker discovered it was going to in gen one...Or maybe grass-dragon or grass-psychic,or grass-normal could all be way better types for meganium.

Too many Grass moves, so not enough coverage
Which sucks because Meganium feels pretty fun and bulky otherwise...
Plus a dull design
I used to like meganium quite a bit, but after trying to use one in a nuzlocke challenge, I completely hated it. I easily started to hate it because of its dull and boring design, lack of moves that weren't grass type, and just so many other things. Easily one of my least favorite starters, and pokemon in general.
@@fishnutz5196 honestly think if they kept the blade on its head(or made it bloom somehow idk), added the flower and ditched the antennae I'd look better
Exactly
Chikoritas line is based on elegance, and it should not have edge to it. It should be menacing, but not emo or edgy.
Yea i was saying the same thing
Yet it still looks underwhelming for me.
I personally don’t see “elegance” in Meganium’s design. It’s cute, sure, but kind of dopey. It’s really underwhelming.
For something to have edge to it or for it to be edgy are 2 completely different things, though.
You said should not shouldn't
I tried using a Parasect in Pokemon Firered recently, it's super bad , especially in gen 3. It learns Giga Drain at level 51 and grass was special and it's special atk is low (base sp of 60) So i had to use 2 Growths to do some dmg .I had to use Slash and pray for crits to kill anything most of the time , Spore was the only good thing to use.
Right!? You get it... It's needlessly poor at battle.
@@shytendeakatamanoir9740
What about using Parasect in Let's Go?
@@DrawciaGleam02 Given you have a better Grass Type already (and a better bug type too actually), that it don't have any Physical Grass Type attack in this version (since Seed Bomb, its only doesn't exist already), your only reason would be STAB Leech Life, and Spore.

I agree with this. Like, I shouldn't have to sit there and be annoyed just because I can't run from a wild battle.

I'm using a Pellipper in Emerald and she's one of my highest level Pokemon
I have 3 reasons I don't like Pelipper…
1: It's really common.

I don’t get it
What if it was just one Spiritomb in existence and it broke into pieces?
108 is a supernatural unlucky sort of evil number in Buddhist beliefs I think like 4 is bad in Japan cause it's spelled like death or 13 is unlucky and 666 is the devils number
in the hoopa movie there is a black rayquaza summoned, but we also see a green rayquaza in the anime, implying that there are two rayquazas, one shiny one regular, so the "unique history but not unique pokemon" issue is pretty common
Trying to apply logic to Pokémon and especially the Dex entries is a recipe for disaster.
Given by Pokémon go, each one is made up of a separate 108 souls. In A Spooky Message Unmasked, Professor Willow explains something a long the line of “Each spiritomb is 108 souls so it’s bad that more are showing up”

And I did some research and the reason for its "signature move", its Fighting type and Revival Blessing, I'll explain it one in one:
Apparently, they were trying to making this Pikaclone some kind of doctor Pokemon. The "Double Shock" move, added to Pawmot's technique to discharge electricity from its paws is based on defibrillation (they put two pads on your chest around the location of your heart which deliver a dose of electricity to the heart), which is why it isn't a double hit move. Also, Double-Edge isn't a 2-hit move so
Its Fighting type and Pawmo learning Arm Thrust on evolution
is based on CPR (the chest compression part) and Revival Blessing, for the same reason as Double Shock (it's called "Recovery Prayer" in Japan, so it certainly uses its hands).
But I don't know, this isn't executed that perfectly and its evos could use some more distinguishing features
design wise.
@@lasercraft32 Literally what I said.
@@lasercraft32 It's Double Shock because Pawmot uses both its forepaws at the same time to strike electricity. That one is told in its Pokedex entries.
*The amount of privileges this thing has compared to other Pika-Clones (who get no special treatment)*
Morpeko has a Signature ability which makes its signature move AND appearance change every turn.
Its like they came up with the one design*
While I agree with that, I've seen lot of fan redesigns that not only look pretty "Nah" but made them look completely less like Pokemon, so maybe the simplicity isn't that bad. It could use some more features on the design for a start.
*Its the ugliest Pika-Clone so far, particularly after it evolves.*
I respectfully disagree with your opinion.

But hey, that's just how I feel about all that
I wish Pikachu got it's stats buffed. Well, they did that in Let's Go but I want it for future main series games as well.
I think a snail can outrun a mushroom any day of the week.
*Looks at the thumbnail*
*Kenzie used Rage*
*Sees Meganium, Spiritomb, and Wobbuffet in the list*
*Kenzie used Rage again*
Parasect got even worse in legends arceus
It’s definitely one of my more interesting shiny stories though, as Wingull is the only Pokémon I have multiple shinies of!
Wow, that is neat. But by the sheer numbers of Wingull I can't say I'm surprised...
r/thathappened
Venusaur learns petal Dance and gunk shot they are good
I mean they are both good tho
It’s so cool that this already has 1k views! I think this’ll be a very popular video
5:15 jelly is nothing compared to clef
Make sense that parasect has a potential 8x weakness to fire. Since spores are incredibly flammable in real life
Also, what tier are you playing in where you see Jellicent everywhere? Because it certainly isnt OU.
Jesus I've questioned the thought process that went into some pokemon but Parasect takes the bloody cake...
actually parasect is based on a real thing, there is a fungus that grows in a ant brain and kills the ant, and when the ant is dead, controls the dead body of the ant to move around and spread spores, search "zombie ant" in google
@@diablo.the.cheater Oh I knew about that already, I think the game The Last of Us features a mutated version of the fungus that infects humans I think. Even so Parasect isn't the creepiest Pokemon in the series but it's way up there
2:23 Gen 4 remake? That hasn’t even come out yet, still waiting on it unfortunately.
Rekxyen XIII I think he meant the heart gold and soul silver games that game out during gen4
The only Bug/Grass Type that is viable is Leavanny because of its speed and physical attack and great movepool
I guess they really wanted to really show Parasect being a zombie more with Dry Skin
Dry Skin isn't even 8* weakness to Fire, it's 5*.
God, I despise Pelipper.
Wait what, I just realised I am finally early for your videos! Yay
Indeed! Welcome!! You can feel better than all the others you beat. :)
@@emperorcubone Thanks
I like wobbuffet's gimmick as a punching bag i've never played one but i would like to try
I didn't like Meganium at first either. Then I watched TFS' play through of SoulSilver and Mr. Stake. It's my second favorite after Typhlosion.
I was never too big a fan to begin with (Torchic is okay but Combusken and Blaziken are eh imo), and then in Diamond I went to the Battle Tower or whatever it's called and made the mistake of teaming up with Riley while he had his Blaziken, which is completely useless in battle.
...that, and I just got tired of the HOENN CONFIRMED BLAZIKEN IS BAKKK BIECHES meme.
design wise yea it isnt the best but in battles with the right moves PLUS mega you can get some op sweeps
Poor megainium... he/she didn't want to end up like bulbasaur
And the Mystery Dungeon Chatot was a nice character too.
I’ve actually used a Wobuffett for the majority of my SW/SH walkthrough. Counter is amazing in raids
When I do a Nuzlock I don't count Knock Out by wild Wobofet as a death as I can't choose to switch or run away
2:24 Wait, gen 4 remakes? Which timeline are you from??? I'm jelly!
Gen 4 remake, as in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, which was originally Gen 2, but were remade in Gen 4.
Parasect needs a branch evolution without the mushroom.
chikorita is just gen 2 charmander change my mind
I used to be neutral to Pelipper, but now it’s my least favorite Pokémon. There is really nothing to like about it. It is a toilet bird that sounds like a trumpet and a tuba had s*x. And it’s EVERYWHERE in Hoenn. I really don’t like this thing, and I don’t know anyone who does.
can i make video's battling with these pokemon
Oh please do. I'd like to see if you could make use of them where I couldn't.
Why tf is everyone saying second or third?
Shame, I love quite a few of these to pieces. Especially Meganium, Parasect, and Wobbuffet.
