Since discovering this yesterday, the best part for me is the ride quality will be far better on these 15 inch wheels compared to the Yaris which feels every bump in the road. Guessing that sad fashion victims will prefer big wheels and wont bother about the ride comfort so long as it has “the sporty look”. Sad people.
Both the Mazda 2 and the Yaris both have the same comfortable ride quality whether they be on the 15” or 16” alloys (the design spec with 16” wheels is the biggest seller here in the U.K). Granted the excel whilst still a comfortable ride does suffer compared. The Yaris GR-Sport however has completely retuned suspension along with the extra chassis bracing, 18” wheels and retuned steering still rides very well and better than the excel models at dealing with rough roads. 🤷♂️ The choice between the Mazda 2 variant or the Yaris is entirely up to personal choice for brand, interior, colours etc, mechanically the 2 is set up the same as the 16” wheel equipped Yaris specs.
you said the true REALITY!!!!!!! i agree with you 100% i decide to buy this car by MAZDA also for BSM with behind cross-traffic alert (2 angles) which in my country GREECE Toyota do not give us ANY more! i give 5 stars to MAZDA choices on those details. i pay 400 euros more than the yaris hybrid with the similar comfort & safety systems (call CHIC here in Greece)

I own a Yaris GR-Sport Hybrid and it’s just a trim level for the Hybrid model, Toyota also have another model in the lineup called Yaris in all but name and that’s that Yaris GR-FOUR which is the WRC Rally Homologation model. For both the Toyota Yaris Hybrid and Mazda 2 Hybrid they are mechanically identical apart from the different the trim levels/paint, wheels and of course specs will differ between countries too. Anyway enjoy the car both are fantastic and have a lovely Christmas 🎄🎁

Yeah the "older" non-hybrid Mazda 2 is basically a mini Mazda 3 wich is cool, they didn't even bother changing the look there, it's literally a Yaris. They don't even offer the iconic soul red color as an option damn..

However, if you're obedient and you've got enough social reward points, you can get a temporary software key to unlock 3 extra kilowatts and 12 extra kilometers per charge. And then you realize how pointless it is because the car is driven by the autopilot.

That gear box is ruining everything. And the official data are 175 kmh top speed with 9,7 sec to 100 kmh. For sure not 215 kmh top speed and 8,1 sec to 100 kmh. You can't achieve those numbers with 116 HP and CVT. That is why you made over 11 seconds to 100 kmh.

Here in South Africa we have 3 Suzuki models that have all been rebranded as Toyotas in the past 2 years, selling alongside the Suzuki models too. Very strange how they do these collaborations.
