To answer your question, the way mountains can grow, is when underground movement (plate tectonics crashing, magma pressure, etc.) pushes rocks up they push anything above them higher and higher over time. But the mountain growth isn’t always annually consistent because of erosion.

So, Mount Everest growing is not due to the snow but rather because when the Indian plate separated from Africa and collided with the Asian subcontinent it pushed the land there upwards which made it so big and is still pushing to this day which causes the mountain to grow
