Top Gear has their collective head up their tailpipe. Fake noises, fake 'gear' shifters, fake tailpipes, and TURBO-LAG -- just buy the M3, and run it for the rest of your days in your garage. Or buy two Model 3 Performances...

Yeah the worst part about the Ionic N is the fake sound. It’s worse than Gran Turismo 1. I don’t mind Porsche Taycan sound because it doesn’t try and fake engine sound. It’s just enhanced electric motor sound but it’s not necessarily

the last M3 that was worth buying was the E36. The current one is too big, too heavy, too tarted up. Basically a caricature of what it once was.
I loved both my E36 and E46 (smoother and more luxurious but less connected than the E36), but absolutely agree with you about today's M cars.

You didn't even mention when you were doing the weight comparison that the listed weight of the BMW M3 is without fluids. You need to account for oil and a tank of gas... those alone make the BMW M3 weigh pretty much exactly the same as the Tesla M3P.
Who the hell weighs a car without fluids? Should we weigh EVs without the battery?
Top Gear and many other "main stream" car journalist are going to go the way of ICE.... Hell I was one of them till I got off my butt and test drove an M3P... Sold my S4 and bought one the following week on an amazing 0% deal and have never looked back. I've had every hot hatch out there and some and they are pale in comparison.
When you start driving EV car (let a lone M3P) you start to understand now "normal" people have stupid questions / ideas about EV cars.
It's really fucked up.
You are SO correct, I have electric for its silence, which improves my ability to focus on the road ahead.
Great comparison TM3P wins in all categories, no stinky oil / fuel and $$$$ savings. I ordered TM3P on the first day available for orders and saved additional $1,000

My men in shed group think EV's are 50% heavier than ICE cars lol or my favorite is that the multi-story car parks are going to collapse 😂 😂 the other good one is now much a new EV battery are £23,000 to replace, I tryed to argue with them but they would not change there minds

Yep heard all these too and they laugh when you call out their ignorance. Ive been going on about Tesla’s around the office for 2-3yrs (massive Tesla Fan). I finally bought one a few weeks ago 2022 Red TM3 SR+ …. Colleagues were like ‘ok you can shut up about it now’ Even i got fed up with all the questions so I shut up about it but one by one a number of people have now started looking at them and really intrigued by the car and low running costs. Like i fill up 2-3times a week and it costs me £2-3 on EV tariff. That catches their attention. (Edited cus my spelling is bad man).
I like to ask coworkers how many times they looked at gas price signs and debated stopping at gas station x, y, or z. I'll take an extra 10ish percent time on a long trip any day, not to mention autopilot.

Spot on my friend. I’ve owned my Tesla model 3 for over 2 years and love it. I can’t see myself going back to an ice vehicle again. Really really want a right hand drive cyber truck for NZ, wishful thinking perhaps. Sub to your channel.

Another brilliant video. I did think the Top Gear comments about fake noise and gear changes strange.
I had a 2019 M3P and it was a hoot to drive but definitely missing the engine and exhaust note that 100% adds to the fun. I've since sold the car as I went fully remote work, parents not too long ago picked up an BMW X6 and even though its a boat of an SUV the i6 in that car really sings and always leaves me grinning ear to ear. I've been eyeing an M240i for fun vroom vroom noises, but it is harder to justify when I can get the new M3P for like 15k less.

I don't think I'd miss fake engine noises, but when I order my Model 3, I'm going to opt for the twin tip clip on fake tail pipe. All my ICE cars had some sort of exposed tail pipe, so if I don't see anything protruding from the rear end of my Tesla, I am going to believe I lost my exhaust system on the road somewhere! 😄

Let's be honest - I was and am a huge fan of muscle cars. I have a supercharged Mustang that makes over 700 wheel horse power. I love it - BUT.... When I road in my friends Tesla Model S long range refresh (2023) I was absolutely stunned. It's a high 10 second ride, does 60-130 in the 7.6 second range which is faster than a Hellcat Redeye, and was an absolute beauty to drive. He got his with 10K miles for $53 grand!!!!
The Plaid is a almost 8 second sedan, that can go near 200mph, 60-130 times in upper 4 second range and can be had new for $80,000 bucks??? Like WTF can compete.
This car should be a high 10 second car as well, for mid 40K, and will be all day reliable.
If you actually calculate what I spent on my car, I could have a lightly used Plaid and be happier with it, safer, more creature comforts and luxury, and hold the whole family.
The performance industry will eventually catch up with EV, I'm just imagining an aftermarket controller to boost battery currents or amps, an aftermarket battery, better suspension for racing, better motors, plaid motor swaps etc. It's all very exciting and ICE will eventually be passed over.

and it's range is 295 miles !! and NO POLLUTION!!
No pollution is disingenuous to say, the pollution happened ahead of time to get you the car, it takes about 5 years of driving a 30mpg car to equal the pollution to getting an EV, after which yes the EV becomes less pollutant overall.
@@Malinkadink wrong and beyond dumb a ev is little higher in CO2 to produce but in 1year moves past ICE . And the EV battery is 98% renewable so all EV's in the future will just use the recycled batteries . And EV's will last 100K miles with a 15% reduction in battery.
But what really bothers me is you think you know and you don't its just a sign of being stupid.
I think 5 years is overstating it.
I would say Tesla is Flawless

Ive owned 2 model 3 performance models. A 2019 and now a 2023. My next car is the model S plaid. But man I really love the new 2024 performance model 3. The red with white is balls. So so nice !!

They have already raised the price by $1000 so you better hurry. The price increase hit a few hours before I ordered mine and the delivery month went from May/June to June. I'm still waiting for my feelings to be hurt with their trade offer on my 5 month old M3P. Yeah, its going to hurt.

Just bought the Model 3 Performance today actually. Watching a few videos to see some more thoughts. I can tell you, my car came out to 53k after the 7500 tax credit and I didn't do the 8k full self driving for life. So 53k is the USD number.
I'm a little confused with this. I'm on the US Tesla website now where it says M3P $53,990 NOT including the $7500 credit. Remove that and it's $46,490? What am I missing I wonder? 🤔

Breakdown of car is 35k + (Performance trim) 18,990 + (Pearl White) 1k + (Destination) 1,390 + (Order Fee) 250
Model 3 Performance with tax, title, and reg (4200.10) - $60,830.10
Subtract deposit of $250 and tax credit of $7,500, its dead on $53,080.10
Thats directly from my documents after putting zero down and no trade in. 100% Financed.
