@@Kenndrik cat ears is the ONE accessory i want really bad, but i simply lack the skill set to get an S+ on NEW GAME Professional.... i did the Pro difficulty on NEW GAME+ with the infinite rocket launcher, and it still took me six hours and 45 minutes... the requirement of 5.5 hours on Pro, AND only allowing me to save 15 times is just too hard for me, infinite ammo or not
Killer7 was my fav in OG and still is. I just love its design and the fact it has laser on it. And considering the one in Remake now has x5 crit chance makes it even better.
Killer7 is the easiest Magnum you can buy in Remake and OG version because you just buy once and it has literally everything you need without need for upgrade. In Remake, they buffed it even crazier by giving Exclusive 5x Critical Shot rate which easily one-shot Tough Enemies without worry to wasting ammo in Professional level (just buy Exclusive tickets and you ready to go).

Probably cause u can easily get it by getting an s rank on all maps on mercenaries, and don’t have to do the s+ on professional anymore making it ten times easier to get it
It's only the *second* best reward even before they added Mercenaries, the best reward you could ever get is the cat ears, and rightfully so I think. And that's not just my opinion, the game also think so, you can see how much CP reward the Handcannon worth compared to Cat Ear. Handcannon only worth 2000 or 2500 CP or something, and the Cat Ear worth 3000 CP.

Killer 7 is my favorite as well in the remake. Just LOVE having the OG laser sight on a 1911; brings back terminator nostalgia. And the 5x crit doesn’t hurt either as shown by 1 tapping Dr. Salvador.
Personally the Broken Butterfly is still my favorite because of one reason, it’s a Schofield. Too bad they didn’t keep the stylish reload, that was what make me fell in love with it.
Tell me about it. So many cool reload animations changed in remake. They always gave off the impression of just how skilled secret-government agent Leon is.
I suppose the reloads becoming more streamlined is the tradeoff for being able to walk/run while reloading, as in the original, you had to stand in place while reloading.
I was glad when they reduced the damage of the Chicago typewriter since it kinda felt weird having a bullet hose that 1 or 2 shot killed most enemies on professional so it felt better to use in re4 remake, but they definitely shouldn't have nerfed the damage of the handcannon that much. The damage probably didn't have to be 99 like in the original but 50 or so would have been enough to make me happy

A few guns were nerfed from the original game, but it is mostly done to make every gun a viable option, while back in 2005, there were a lot of single best choices for what to run with. Although I do miss having a laser sight on some guns (TMP, Black Tail, Broken Butterfly, and Handcanon) I will admit that it doesn’t make sense for a shotgun to have a laser on it.
You touched on the biggest thing about magnums. They depend on your playstyle. The Killer7 is for that person who just goes for headshots reflexively. Which is why for you its the best one. For me, I tend to just dive in and center mass everything. You tend to get more collaterals and even if you pop the head off they can still mutate. But if you cut them in half like the magnums tend to do, they won't. You kind of have to adopted the magnum playstyle which makes accuracy not so much a thing. Just keep charging forward. The Killer7 is for those who still like the pistol playstyle. It will reward you with criticals but in the end they aren't need at those damage levels.
Fun fact: In the actual game killer7, critical hits were a lot different and one of the major gimmicks of the combat. Rather than be random, nearly every enemy had a specific weak point on their bodies which would instantly kill them when hit, and ideally you would hit as many of these as possible. That's why the new exclusive upgrade massively increases critical hit chance - killer7 the game was all about one shotting enemies with its version of critical hits, and now the gun makes it very likely to one shot normal enemies in this game.
The Killer7 is not only a reference to the Terminator, but also the name itself references a video game that Shinji Mikami had worked on with Suda51 by the name, Killer7! It is also one of my favorite games!
I would say a couple things on the Magnums. - The Handcannon's ability to not need to reload ever (so zero downtime) as well as not needing to unlock the Cat Ears is a big bonus for it. - The Handcannon was already easy to unlock (not requiring a specific rank on Professional, just doing it without bonus weapons on a new game). - The Handcannon is now even easier to unlock, as it can be done as quickly as 15 min with Merc mode. - The Broken Butterfly is amazing in its power, but as seen in your example, it's not really necessary. Both the Broken Butterfly and the Handcannon took 2 shots to kill the chainsaw guy (even with getting a headshot with the Broken Butterfly). All the other mobs, die in one hit with either, no matter where you hit them. Meaning the better accuracy isn't really helping much, as you don't need the precise headshots (other than for personal preference). - DID YOU KNOW? Hitting weakpoints (like a headshot) does not increase the damage in RE4 Remake, unlike the original. The only thing it does is increase the critical hit rate (of which is a moot point for the most part) and increases the stagger chance (which again is a moot point, the target is dead...). - You can only trigger critical hits and stagger on weakpoints. This means that if the power is low on a weapon, this is much more important. - With that being said, the lowest power magnum, the Killer7, really wants to hit its headshots and the laser sight helps with that. - Killer7 still needs to reload, despite its nice magazine size. - Killer7 can oneshot bigger enemies with more ease and less RNG because of its high crit rate of course. - Killer7's laser sight also helps with long range shots (like shooting medallions if you have Cat Ears, so ammo isn't an issue). Without Cat Ears, the Handcannon wins hands down. With Cat Ears, the Killer7 is the most versatile, despite needing to stop to reload here and there. It's perk helps with RNG being more often in your favor, but you do need to aim instead of just body shot everything like the other two magnums. Broken Butterfly is still great, nothing wrong with it, but it's slightly higher power over the Handcannon isn't that special as the Handcannon will kill things essentially just as well and doesn't need to reload or the Cat Ears. That's at least my thoughts on them at least....
All good points. Handcannon is also now easily accessible to everyone, especially 1st time players or people new to gaming. BB is really good in the DPS department since it has the highest rate of fire and flat damage while the Killer7 is the most versatile since it has a laser and Crit is usually the Meta for ANY game. They're all great weapons, it all just depends on what YOU want. 🙂
Is the weak point thing only applies to regular mobs or it includes bosses like Garrador and El Gigante (except the very obvious Regenerators and Armaduras) I killed the first Garrador really quickly by shooting only the plaga with Red9 in standard

The handcannon or S&W 500 is my favorite gun in the game its just a beast, I love the 12 inch barrel and my go to gun in RE5. Seems like they made it realistic for gun physics considering how long the barrel is and how it shoots a literal .50 caliber round and weighs close to 5 lbs.
@@OpticHamster69i have a taurus raging 500 (500 bucks less so way more worth it 😉) and can say it's not as bad as you think. The 500 has some bite but the kick is more than manageable. Then again it does come with a muzzle break so that helps. Helluva badass gun tho, exactly why i got it! 🤣 I also have a 1911 so i have the killer 7 AND handcannon irl 😉 (also got a deagle so you can say i have the lightning hawk as well)

The addition of weapon bloom neutered most weapons. I got my handcannon by beating professional and it so felt completely not worth it. With the built in laser sight the Killer 7 is the best magnum in the game now.
Crit is usually Meta in ALL games but Handcannon does have it value as being the most accessible Magnum in the game and also have Infinite Ammo where you don't need Cat Ears. 🙂
These are all great, and I love that you're comparing all of the guns. If I could make a suggestion, I would love to hear your pros and cons for the Bolt Thrower! I decided not to skip it on my first playthrough and was really surprised how much use I got out of it, since in the first game it was practically a joke weapon that nobody used, because you could blow yourself up. Also, a knife comparison video would be great too! If there isn't enough info to go over for both to be separate videos, maybe putting the two together in one video would be good too. what you forgot is that the game has a hidden mechanic where crits can happens often when used with high powered guns and ammos. magnum has the highest, rifle is second, shotgun 3rd, pistol 4th and smg has the least of crits.

Nothing feels more right or puts a bigger smile on my face than when you hit someone with the handcannon and their just torso just completely separates from their legs and becomes a missle hazard, an arm gets instantly liquefied, or you just vaporize one of their legs right out from under them and they face plant. Watched one dude get blown in half on the island and his torso slapped the wall at high speed while his legs just sluped to the floor, laughed my ass off.

I knew it was gonna be the killer 7. Not only cause the thumbnail but its also just blatantly the best with the laser sight that actually lets you hit shit with it from more the 4 ft away. But i really needed someone to confirm my biases. So thanks.
My thoughts on the magnums: Handcannon: Serves it's niche as an infinite ammo boss killer pre-cat ears. Killer7: The best of the bunch, that laser sight and crit rate are enough to put it over the higher raw damage of the other two. Broken Butterfly: Aesthetically the best imo. I've got a soft spot for the old six shooter design. Preferably without the foot long barrel of the handcannon (I just think it looks silly).
Most of them don't really need them while there are very few others that do. However im sure the devs took the time and consideration to think about how majority of these guns would operate if everything had a laser. At least with the precision playing a factor, there's a lot more variety to showcase the pro's/con's of all the guns now and makes it where every gun is Viable in their own way. 🙂
@@Kenndrik maybe, but it absolutely kills magnums. Why would I bother with the broken butter fly or the handcannon when they killer 7 is the most reliable and accurate one? The precision dictating cross hair center speed when moving and standing still is fine. But you basically can’t even adjust your aim at any point or your accuracy goes to trash. I think they struck the perfect balance of pros and cons of movement in RE2 and 3, here the crosshair is a little overboard.
@@Kenndrik well I'll say this. For console players who have to constantly adjust our aim ever so slightly the focus makes things worse with faster enemies. Like the blind dudes. The broken butterfly is my favorite magnum of the OG, also my favorite revolver irl. But for my professional run I'm going to have to switch to the killer 7. Lasers are just too good. my perfectionist of this game series wants the hand cannon but thanks to this video, the Killer 7(Hard Baller) is now gonna be my go-to when i unlock the cat ears which, apparently, gives the old MGS2 bandana effect. i didnt know that.
Yup! And the Handcannon is easy to get since all you have to do is get S rank on all maps in Mercenaries. Not sure if it has to be with 1 character though. I would recommend Krauser since he's OP. 🙂
@Kenndrik dude i did it with Leon. His mayhem is the best because it boost his power and you can rack kills so fast, plus his attacks cause enemies to stun making melee even easier
I miss the old design but I could understand why they went for a more realistic look for the handcannon. Just wish they had an option for both. That would be cool.

The Killer7 is just stupidly good. Its like he's saying: not "very good", not "really good", its TOO GOOD. A 40% chance to hit for 280 damage is RIDICULOUS. In comparison: The fully upgraded Red9 does 4.05 damage. The fully upgraded Riot Shotgun does 19.2 damage. The fully upgraded Bolt Action Rifle with the 3x damage bonus on weakpoints does 31.8 damage. The fully upgraded Broken Butterfly does 41.5 damage. 2 out of 5 shots of the Killer7 do 280 DAMAGE
It's a ROUGH estimate but yes. Crit has always been the Meta for every game on the planet that has ever existed and I just personally gravitate towards those type of weapons the most. 🙂
Killer 7 got an appropriate buff. It is now a true "Killer." The Handcannon took a backseat. It couldn't hold a candle to the OG Cannon. The infinite ammo is its only redeeming quality. The Broken Butterfly is still kicking ass, and I'm glad for that.

Hand Cannon is the best provided you don't have the nerves to get the cat ears, that is very challenging and personally I despise timed challenges. Getting HC is just a chill run on Pro without any additional requirements, exclusive upgrade it and it will make the game trivial.
The scarcity of magnum ammo and the high resource cost of crafting magnum ammo still makes the handcannon king. What good is a _slightly_ more accurate magnum if you rarely have ammo for it? Fight at close-to-medium range and the reticle bloom is a non-issue.
Definitely go with the Killer 7 gun. Has a nice laser sight to make aiming better/easier and you have a chance to one hit kill tough enemies once you fully upgrade it. Thanks for showing this and interesting to know there is a magnum better then a (fully upgraded) hand cannon.
Still believe what I said in this comment. For the hand cannon, I think it is extremely overrated by too many players, at least in the Remake. The broken butterfly is a great magnum until you get the Killer 7. May seem weak, until you fully upgrade it and put a laser sight on it and its excellent against weaker enemies.
Normally, the Handcannon would be the easy choice, but since you can get infinite ammo for any weapon with the cat ears, I'd say Killer 7 is my favorite one by far.
The handcannon is a great tool to have fun with early on and to relatively safely get you through professional for the cat ears, but once you achieve that it falls behind quite quickly, but since they've lowered the requirements for this gun so dramatically I'm okay with that, on the contray. Before the change it would've probably been a different story, but like this I don't think it should be the strongest in the game and the sway does a pretty good job to counter that. I haven't used any other magnum yet, but from what I've read the Broken Butterfly seems to be similar, but maybe not as bad. The Killer7 seems to win this one.
for not infinite, I'd go with the Killer-7, allows more accuracy, and dont have to wait for the crosshair to focus, especially on a boss fight, you only get a small window to shoot on their exposed weak point

Man, surprised out the gate and disappointed to hear the Handcannon isn't the best, since I was so happy to have unlocked it from Mercenaries, and was expecting it to be the best.
Well think of it this way. If you're starting the game for the very first time and you learn you can get a Magnum with Infinite Ammo on a very easy game mode, you can start off a fresh save with it and just GG the whole game. 🙂
For me the L Hawk magnum is the best magnum in the resi world its just perfect 👌 great fire rate ,accuracy,clip size, and powerful but not to powerful that you have to worry about recoil 🤩love that gun
Killer7 is still my favorite after trying out all the Magnums on multiple playthroughs. When I got the Handcannon I was thoroughly disappointed cause I put in all that work to get it just for it not to hold a candle to the Killer7 personally. Even though I just got Platinum on the game yesterday with nothing else to do I will still do runs just to use the Killer7. I love it so much.
Yep, I absolutely love the Killer 7 and spare the ammo for bosses until I get Professional on S+ 😅 The Laser pointer is what I really miss compared to the original. It would feel a lot more "immersive" as everything these days shall be, to not have a projection of a crosshair on your screen at all. Broken Butterfly is by far the most beautiful of them btw.
Killer 7 with cat ears is basically your handgun, sniper rifle, one-hit ko weapon all in one. With Killer 7, you can dump your handgun into storage, just have riot shotgun and CBQR assault rifle as secondary weapons and you're good to go. CBQR assault rifle for eliminating regenerators and spider plagas, and riot shotgun for novistadors or crowd control.
The LE5 is better suited for Regeneradors after being fully upgraded including the exclusive. I’ve killed all of the normal regeneradors with relative ease after learning how to aim it with the bio scope. The game also suggests you use it for that purpose as you get the LE5 in the same room as the bio scope. Edit: I’ve also used the CQBR, but it wasn’t yet maxed out. Had a bit of trouble getting rounds into the regeneradors with that thing.
Maybe if they added a 10x critical rate to the handcannon and would make it much more unique and viable. Not as the exclusive but have it naturally from the beginning, from level one

I love killer 7 very much but it seems the laser sometimes invisible for a while at initial target moment is it just me or anyone has the same problem as I did. If it is in fact a problem do any of you mind enlighten me?
Its a shame that they nerft the Handcannon, its always one of my favorite weapon in the original game. It being the weakest doesnt justify the unlockable requirement of beating the game on pro without any bonus weapons. If anything, it should have one more perks alongside the Infinite Ammo that would allow it to still be the King of Magnum. To be honest, as much as the Broken Butterfly is tempting, Killer 7 all the ways for me with it stable handling and precision with laser sight. I don't use Killer 7 much due to how powerful BB was in the original, but now I have chosen Killer 7 over it and the Handcannon. Good showing of weapons though, very informative and details on what you said.
The only downside with the other revolvers is you have to reload them even with the cat ears where as the handcannon you dont ever have to reload it and can just keep firing which honestly makes it my go to

I always loved the killer7 as the terminator gun, it's so fun and with infinite ammo it's basically the only gun you need like the merchant says.

They should've kept the damage as it was but kept the challenge on the base game for it however adding no cat ears to it

A few guns were nerfed from the original game, but it is mostly done to make every gun a viable option, while back in 2005, there were a lot of single best choices for what to run with. Although I do miss having a laser sight on some guns (TMP, Black Tail, Broken Butterfly, and Handcanon) I will admit that it doesn’t make sense for a shotgun to have a laser on it.
You touched on the biggest thing about magnums. They depend on your playstyle. The Killer7 is for that person who just goes for headshots reflexively. Which is why for you its the best one. For me, I tend to just dive in and center mass everything. You tend to get more collaterals and even if you pop the head off they can still mutate. But if you cut them in half like the magnums tend to do, they won't. You kind of have to adopted the magnum playstyle which makes accuracy not so much a thing. Just keep charging forward. The Killer7 is for those who still like the pistol playstyle. It will reward you with criticals but in the end they aren't need at those damage levels.

Fun fact: In the actual game killer7, critical hits were a lot different and one of the major gimmicks of the combat. Rather than be random, nearly every enemy had a specific weak point on their bodies which would instantly kill them when hit, and ideally you would hit as many of these as possible. That's why the new exclusive upgrade massively increases critical hit chance - killer7 the game was all about one shotting enemies with its version of critical hits, and now the gun makes it very likely to one shot normal enemies in this game.
The Killer7 is not only a reference to the Terminator, but also the name itself references a video game that Shinji Mikami had worked on with Suda51 by the name, Killer7! It is also one of my favorite games!
I would say a couple things on the Magnums.
- The Handcannon's ability to not need to reload ever (so zero downtime) as well as not needing to unlock the Cat Ears is a big bonus for it.
- The Handcannon was already easy to unlock (not requiring a specific rank on Professional, just doing it without bonus weapons on a new game).
- The Handcannon is now even easier to unlock, as it can be done as quickly as 15 min with Merc mode.
- The Broken Butterfly is amazing in its power, but as seen in your example, it's not really necessary. Both the Broken Butterfly and the Handcannon took 2 shots to kill the chainsaw guy (even with getting a headshot with the Broken Butterfly). All the other mobs, die in one hit with either, no matter where you hit them. Meaning the better accuracy isn't really helping much, as you don't need the precise headshots (other than for personal preference).
- DID YOU KNOW? Hitting weakpoints (like a headshot) does not increase the damage in RE4 Remake, unlike the original. The only thing it does is increase the critical hit rate (of which is a moot point for the most part) and increases the stagger chance (which again is a moot point, the target is dead...).
- You can only trigger critical hits and stagger on weakpoints. This means that if the power is low on a weapon, this is much more important.
- With that being said, the lowest power magnum, the Killer7, really wants to hit its headshots and the laser sight helps with that.
- Killer7 still needs to reload, despite its nice magazine size.
- Killer7 can oneshot bigger enemies with more ease and less RNG because of its high crit rate of course.
- Killer7's laser sight also helps with long range shots (like shooting medallions if you have Cat Ears, so ammo isn't an issue).
Without Cat Ears, the Handcannon wins hands down.
With Cat Ears, the Killer7 is the most versatile, despite needing to stop to reload here and there. It's perk helps with RNG being more often in your favor, but you do need to aim instead of just body shot everything like the other two magnums.
Broken Butterfly is still great, nothing wrong with it, but it's slightly higher power over the Handcannon isn't that special as the Handcannon will kill things essentially just as well and doesn't need to reload or the Cat Ears.
That's at least my thoughts on them at least....
All good points. Handcannon is also now easily accessible to everyone, especially 1st time players or people new to gaming. BB is really good in the DPS department since it has the highest rate of fire and flat damage while the Killer7 is the most versatile since it has a laser and Crit is usually the Meta for ANY game. They're all great weapons, it all just depends on what YOU want. 🙂
Is the weak point thing only applies to regular mobs or it includes bosses like Garrador and El Gigante (except the very obvious Regenerators and Armaduras) I killed the first Garrador really quickly by shooting only the plaga with Red9 in standard
Seeing a maxxed killer7 with a full mag is like seeing a unicorn unless if they really focused on making ammo for it, lol.

The handcannon or S&W 500 is my favorite gun in the game its just a beast, I love the 12 inch barrel and my go to gun in RE5. Seems like they made it realistic for gun physics considering how long the barrel is and how it shoots a literal .50 caliber round and weighs close to 5 lbs.

@@OpticHamster69i have a taurus raging 500 (500 bucks less so way more worth it 😉) and can say it's not as bad as you think. The 500 has some bite but the kick is more than manageable. Then again it does come with a muzzle break so that helps. Helluva badass gun tho, exactly why i got it! 🤣 I also have a 1911 so i have the killer 7 AND handcannon irl 😉 (also got a deagle so you can say i have the lightning hawk as well)

The addition of weapon bloom neutered most weapons. I got my handcannon by beating professional and it so felt completely not worth it.
With the built in laser sight the Killer 7 is the best magnum in the game now.
Crit is usually Meta in ALL games but Handcannon does have it value as being the most accessible Magnum in the game and also have Infinite Ammo where you don't need Cat Ears. 🙂
With infinite ammos, killer7 is only second to rocket luncher

If I could make a suggestion, I would love to hear your pros and cons for the Bolt Thrower! I decided not to skip it on my first playthrough and was really surprised how much use I got out of it, since in the first game it was practically a joke weapon that nobody used, because you could blow yourself up.
Also, a knife comparison video would be great too! If there isn't enough info to go over for both to be separate videos, maybe putting the two together in one video would be good too.

what you forgot is that the game has a hidden mechanic where crits can happens often when used with high powered guns and ammos. magnum has the highest, rifle is second, shotgun 3rd, pistol 4th and smg has the least of crits.
Everyone is so hurt over the handcannon, but they're just in denial that the Killer7 is the real GOAT

Nothing feels more right or puts a bigger smile on my face than when you hit someone with the handcannon and their just torso just completely separates from their legs and becomes a missle hazard, an arm gets instantly liquefied, or you just vaporize one of their legs right out from under them and they face plant. Watched one dude get blown in half on the island and his torso slapped the wall at high speed while his legs just sluped to the floor, laughed my ass off.
Devs did a good job with the dismemberment and attention to detail. I thought I was playing Dead Space Remake on my first playthrough. 😂

My thoughts on the magnums:
Handcannon: Serves it's niche as an infinite ammo boss killer pre-cat ears.
Killer7: The best of the bunch, that laser sight and crit rate are enough to put it over the higher raw damage of the other two.
Broken Butterfly: Aesthetically the best imo. I've got a soft spot for the old six shooter design. Preferably without the foot long barrel of the handcannon (I just think it looks silly).

I think this new “precision” stat has done alot of weapons dirty thanks to the removal of laser sights
Most of them don't really need them while there are very few others that do. However im sure the devs took the time and consideration to think about how majority of these guns would operate if everything had a laser. At least with the precision playing a factor, there's a lot more variety to showcase the pro's/con's of all the guns now and makes it where every gun is Viable in their own way. 🙂
@@Kenndrik maybe, but it absolutely kills magnums. Why would I bother with the broken butter fly or the handcannon when they killer 7 is the most reliable and accurate one? The precision dictating cross hair center speed when moving and standing still is fine. But you basically can’t even adjust your aim at any point or your accuracy goes to trash.
I think they struck the perfect balance of pros and cons of movement in RE2 and 3, here the crosshair is a little overboard.
Honestly most of the Magnums are meh cuz that focus time for all of them save the killer 7 is too brutal
Everything has it's pro's and cons. Devs did a good job on balancing the game.

I love the fact there is no "best weapon" It brings so much variety to this game besides "Always use Red9, Striker, and handcannon" of OG Remake.
my perfectionist of this game series wants the hand cannon but thanks to this video, the Killer 7(Hard Baller) is now gonna be my go-to when i unlock the cat ears which, apparently, gives the old MGS2 bandana effect. i didnt know that.
Yup! And the Handcannon is easy to get since all you have to do is get S rank on all maps in Mercenaries. Not sure if it has to be with 1 character though. I would recommend Krauser since he's OP. 🙂
@Kenndrik dude i did it with Leon. His mayhem is the best because it boost his power and you can rack kills so fast, plus his attacks cause enemies to stun making melee even easier

The Killer7 is just stupidly good. Its like he's saying: not "very good", not "really good", its TOO GOOD.
A 40% chance to hit for 280 damage is RIDICULOUS. In comparison:
The fully upgraded Red9 does 4.05 damage.
The fully upgraded Riot Shotgun does 19.2 damage.
The fully upgraded Bolt Action Rifle with the 3x damage bonus on weakpoints does 31.8 damage.
The fully upgraded Broken Butterfly does 41.5 damage.
2 out of 5 shots of the Killer7 do 280 DAMAGE
It's a ROUGH estimate but yes. Crit has always been the Meta for every game on the planet that has ever existed and I just personally gravitate towards those type of weapons the most. 🙂
Killer 7 got an appropriate buff. It is now a true "Killer." The Handcannon took a backseat. It couldn't hold a candle to the OG Cannon. The infinite ammo is its only redeeming quality. The Broken Butterfly is still kicking ass, and I'm glad for that.

Hand Cannon is the best provided you don't have the nerves to get the cat ears, that is very challenging and personally I despise timed challenges. Getting HC is just a chill run on Pro without any additional requirements, exclusive upgrade it and it will make the game trivial.
It's actually even easier to acquire it now that we can all play Mercenaries, making it the most accessible weapon in the game. 🙂
The scarcity of magnum ammo and the high resource cost of crafting magnum ammo still makes the handcannon king. What good is a _slightly_ more accurate magnum if you rarely have ammo for it? Fight at close-to-medium range and the reticle bloom is a non-issue.
Definitely go with the Killer 7 gun. Has a nice laser sight to make aiming better/easier and you have a chance to one hit kill tough enemies once you fully upgrade it. Thanks for showing this and interesting to know there is a magnum better then a (fully upgraded) hand cannon.
Still believe what I said in this comment. For the hand cannon, I think it is extremely overrated by too many players, at least in the Remake. The broken butterfly is a great magnum until you get the Killer 7. May seem weak, until you fully upgrade it and put a laser sight on it and its excellent against weaker enemies.

Normally, the Handcannon would be the easy choice, but since you can get infinite ammo for any weapon with the cat ears, I'd say Killer 7 is my favorite one by far.
The K7 in RE4 remake is basically RE5 LH.
Once you have infinite ammo both these magnums they become your handgun.

The handcannon is a great tool to have fun with early on and to relatively safely get you through professional for the cat ears, but once you achieve that it falls behind quite quickly, but since they've lowered the requirements for this gun so dramatically I'm okay with that, on the contray. Before the change it would've probably been a different story, but like this I don't think it should be the strongest in the game and the sway does a pretty good job to counter that.
I haven't used any other magnum yet, but from what I've read the Broken Butterfly seems to be similar, but maybe not as bad. The Killer7 seems to win this one.

for not infinite, I'd go with the Killer-7, allows more accuracy, and dont have to wait for the crosshair to focus, especially on a boss fight, you only get a small window to shoot on their exposed weak point

Man, surprised out the gate and disappointed to hear the Handcannon isn't the best, since I was so happy to have unlocked it from Mercenaries, and was expecting it to be the best.
Well think of it this way. If you're starting the game for the very first time and you learn you can get a Magnum with Infinite Ammo on a very easy game mode, you can start off a fresh save with it and just GG the whole game. 🙂

For me the L Hawk magnum is the best magnum in the resi world its just perfect 👌 great fire rate ,accuracy,clip size, and powerful but not to powerful that you have to worry about recoil 🤩love that gun
Killer7 is still my favorite after trying out all the Magnums on multiple playthroughs. When I got the Handcannon I was thoroughly disappointed cause I put in all that work to get it just for it not to hold a candle to the Killer7 personally. Even though I just got Platinum on the game yesterday with nothing else to do I will still do runs just to use the Killer7. I love it so much.

The Laser pointer is what I really miss compared to the original. It would feel a lot more "immersive" as everything these days shall be, to not have a projection of a crosshair on your screen at all.
Broken Butterfly is by far the most beautiful of them btw.
Killer 7 with cat ears is basically your handgun, sniper rifle, one-hit ko weapon all in one. With Killer 7, you can dump your handgun into storage, just have riot shotgun and CBQR assault rifle as secondary weapons and you're good to go. CBQR assault rifle for eliminating regenerators and spider plagas, and riot shotgun for novistadors or crowd control.
The LE5 is better suited for Regeneradors after being fully upgraded including the exclusive. I’ve killed all of the normal regeneradors with relative ease after learning how to aim it with the bio scope. The game also suggests you use it for that purpose as you get the LE5 in the same room as the bio scope.
Edit: I’ve also used the CQBR, but it wasn’t yet maxed out. Had a bit of trouble getting rounds into the regeneradors with that thing.

I love killer 7 very much but it seems the laser sometimes invisible for a while at initial target moment is it just me or anyone has the same problem as I did. If it is in fact a problem do any of you mind enlighten me?
Its a shame that they nerft the Handcannon, its always one of my favorite weapon in the original game. It being the weakest doesnt justify the unlockable requirement of beating the game on pro without any bonus weapons. If anything, it should have one more perks alongside the Infinite Ammo that would allow it to still be the King of Magnum. To be honest, as much as the Broken Butterfly is tempting, Killer 7 all the ways for me with it stable handling and precision with laser sight. I don't use Killer 7 much due to how powerful BB was in the original, but now I have chosen Killer 7 over it and the Handcannon.

The only downside with the other revolvers is you have to reload them even with the cat ears where as the handcannon you dont ever have to reload it and can just keep firing which honestly makes it my go to
