I use the M1903 without a scope because of the raw power and the fact that it doesn't take up that much space. Personally, you don't need an extra scope with it because the iron sights are good.

Stingray was my go to in the original but playing though on professional with it I found that there were regular enemies that could survive a shot to the head. Switched to the bolt action rifle and am actually very happy with how it performs. In the original having to cycle through while stationary really hurt it but now you can backpedal and strafe to doge arrows while cycling a new round.
I used the 1903 on my first playthrough, it was SOOOO good even when I didn’t use the scope. I got the exclusive upgrade after the knife. The thing carried me on bosses when I didn’t have magnum ammo.
I’ve seen a few of these types of videos from you on this game now and there extremely informative so we don’t have to go out and put in the testing like you have. Thank you!
@@CYB3R2Kyeah, but imagine that you have to fight against pesanta, you want to be fast, and for most enemies the cqbr will be better. Just remember is a rifle, you will not shoot all your bullets fastly, you will just shoot fast is you have a boss in front of you
I loved the CQBR in RE3 remake. I loved it so much I built an actual Colt Short Barreled AR-15 that is almost an exact replica to Carlos'. Seeing this in RE4 remake made me happy. Can't wait to unlock unlimited ammo!
@Kenndrik I loved the remake for this was a great feeling having a case full of weapons with piercing might not be the strongest but I'm all bout crowd control
This was my favourite rifle to use, and I am glad to see it showcased here as I have noticed people defaulting to the stingray who played the original game without giving it a chance saying it uses to much ammo trying to use it like an smg.
I can't remember the chapter but the section where Ashley holds the bridge while you switch the power over; the first time through the Regenerator that appears made me shit myself and in the panic I sprayed, wasting ammo and went back to the Stingray 🤣 After a few more playthroughs and getting everything upgraded I much prefer the CQBR, partly for boss dps but the mag size also saves space; the bolt action holds less than a full box of rifle ammo, the Stingray holds a wee bit more than a box, while the CQBR holds a little over 2 boxes - it seems minor but that's two more flash grenades I could have, two healing items, more ammo for different guns.
@@NotCharAznable - I seen it and assumed it was like the SIG 556 from RE5 which used the same ammo as the SMGs. I get the impression the dislike of it stems from just not paying attention to the ammo the CQBR uses.
@@NotCharAznable That’s literally the intended purpose…it is a fully automatic rifle so how can you blame them? Crafting rifle ammo isn’t cheap and it’s not easy to find like handgun or smg.
For me it's the stingray : very confortable shooting, manageable control and fire rate. It's the weakest but it's the easiest to have. The 1903 pull you out after each shoot making hard to track miss shot and correct and the CQB is an AR, very easy to lose control of the fire rate.
if you spot everything at a distance, the 1903 is the best overall for me, for close quarters the fully auto rifle is for you, ngl the stingray was ehh
@@Dacon on professional the Stingray can still oneshot headshot common enemies. It sucks as a boss killer but you won't be using it to kill bosses, you're using it to make Water Room easier, esp on an S+ run when CQBR isn't even available yet. Most S+ speedruns I've seen sell the 1903 and get the stingray immediately once they hit the castle.
After checking out your sub-machinegun video I decided to try out the LE5 with the bio monitor for the regenerator section in Ch13. I wasn’t able to clear them out as quickly as I was with the Stingray, you just can’t beat that low recoil and quick follow up potential. It may not be the best but for me the Stingray is my go to rifle.
Same, I stuck with the stingray for my first play in hardcore and I’m going into a professional run with it, but I haven’t gone far in it yet so it’s still performing really well
This. You don't really need an *insane* amount of power. With the thermal scope regenerators are easy to kill. There's no point even fighting them before you get it. Just shoot their legs and run. The stingray doesn't shred through ammo and has no away and basically zero recoil. Good luck fighting multiple regenerators with the bolt action rifle, thats annoying enough to play with as Luis in the mercenaries mode
I personally prefer the Stingray, because the forced bolt cycling animation of the 1903 always throws off my aim when im trying to quickly go between enemies.
They seem to have given the Stingray the wrong exclusive upgrade, considering the new rifle. They should change it to maybe 5x crit rate and bump up the normal fire rate a little bit.
the M1903 is the one and ONLY rifle i always use in the original game since i played it the first time. The small space it takes up, plus one hit kill on heads AND plagas from even early game makes up more than enough for the long reload or rate of fire. Shoots heads off through wooden shields and doors just fine. You upgrade this baby up and you've got yourself a wonderful instrument of death.
The CQBR kinda struggles in a new file since it has to compete against the other two rifles for ammo and comes in a section with mainly bugs and knights. Granted a pro for it that its completely free and only requires a few minutes of back tracking.
Unless you're me and you already knew the clock "puzzle" for Ashley and you didn't use the lantern to get the stairs to come down. In which case the gun and all those treasures and a Merchant request are lost to you forever :((
You actually forget something, you can buy it if you missed that and it can be purchased on Chapter 11 (Luis section) for 40k Peseta and 28k when discount happened. CQBR main issue is bad recoil and you need trigger control to make easy shots.
Pros/Cons of each: SR 1903: Good damage and accuracy, very reliable in general. Awful iron sights, and a technical downside being bolt action, lowering fire rate and drawing you off scope when rechambering. Stingray: Flexible application in different situations, and has really good accuracy and low recoil. Weakest of the rifles, sure, but it's flaw is it's strength. It's semi-auto. CQBR: Functionally an SMG, great DPS and serviceable accuracy, but feeding the damn thing ammo is the biggest pain in the ass. My Personal Choice: Stingray. Works best for me of the three. 1903 is good, very good in fact, I just prefer a semi-auto rifle's rapid followup shots and the magazine reload. I detest the CQBR because no matter how i shoot it, it arbitrarily decides to fire off multiple rounds instead of the single rounds or short bursts I actually want it to do. Also, I have a double/triple tap button on my mouse, separate from my left-click. It will fire off several rounds, no matter what mode that button's set to. Upwards of 10 rounds if it's able. It should fire two or three. Doesn't. Not for me.
Well said!!... Stingray is King because it really feels like the weapon Leon would be using in this scenario. I mostly use it for headshotting normal enemies I don't feel like dealing with up close. Fully upgraded, works wonders on the Zealot leaders, etc with it's quick rate of fire. It also holds a nice amount of ammo & has the cheapest exclusive upgrade cost out of the rifles... I could go on but it really just depends on play style as everyone's arsenal will be a bit different at the end of the day.
Ya know it's crazy to think I never had much of a hard on for the bolt action rifle in the og RE4 because of how slow it was but in the remake it feels like such a major overhaul from its 2005 variant and it actually makes it a rifle I want over the others.
Great stuff bro, have a sub! I'm doing a M1903 only run at the moment, having an absolute blast. The sounds it makes, the bolt animation, that absurd damage, the piercing.. I can't believe I've slept on this thing for so long!
Personally I prefer the Stingray sniper rifle, the assault rifle burns through ammo very quickly, I'd rather take my time and place my shots well if I'm going to use a rifle in this game considering rifle ammo isn't that easy to come by compared to submachine gun ammo when the submachine guns are pretty good in themselves. I don't really like the TMP that much but I do like the LE5. But once you get the Chicago Sweeper with the infinite ammo bonus then you don't even need them anymore really. Sure the stingray rifle isn't as strong as it used to be but it is still very effective in my opinion for a good amount of encounters because you can just place a lot of shots quickly without losing any precision, the assault rifle does have a bit more weakness exploit damage but I do believe this thing right does have a bit more in the numbers department for pure damage. Weakness exploit gives the assault rifle the overall edge though. But I better be a bit more precise while still being able to shoot quite fast and do a decent amount of damage when I need to snipe and honestly I only really use it for the water room and enemies with crossbows at range when I need to or if I come across a regenerator and don't have the Chicago Sweeper or enough ammo for the lE5.
I like the stingray, maybe it’s a compromise but it’s a good compromise. I don’t want to spray through precious sniper rounds, and losing my vision through the M1903 between shots is a dealbreaker. The rate of fire on the stingray is already faster than I realistically need it to be. Also it just looks badass
I've been running the bolty since my first run in the original. In the remake I have used it in place of the shotgun quite a bit it was clutch in the castle maze against the dogs with iron sights.
Something about the m1903 with ironsights is just sooo satisfying. I actually like it more with the default reload speed and 5 round mag, but maxed dmg and exclusive ticket. Coupling that with hero Leon and I feel like some kinda musketeer or fantasy Huntsman and it just feels right with knight ashley
So back in the day, the sting ray was the better of the 2 options because 1) you couldn’t move while shooting and couldn’t dodge people if you missed and 2) you had to wait for the bolt animation to finish on the Springfield before doing anything. Now that you can run around like call of duty, we have the call of duty meta approach: quick scoping with the maximum amount of damage per shot, turning the Springfield into the best rifle.
Stingray for me by far. Power may be the lowest for rifles, but it is still good enough even on Professional. You don't drop out of your scope like with the bolt action and the recoil is essentially non-existent, making it the easiest rifle to handle. The M1903 is still amazing, essentially a magnum with cheaper ammo if you hit headshots consistently, but in more frenzied fights with its lower fire rate and slowest reload speed, the Stingray is just more versatile. As mentioned, the CQBR is essentially an SMG in rifle form with how fast it can chew up through ammo and the insane kick it has. Hardest to keep on point with its large spread, but not like it is bad. Especially once you get used to it, but it is the most unwieldy to use, comes late in the game (not available till chapter 10, over half way through the game), thus also not usable for most of the game if not on a NG+. It is great for Regenerators since you can just pelt them with bullets, but the Stingray also does this insanely way with precise shots and less ammo (normally). 1. Stingray is powerful enough and easiest to use. Good for any scenario and usable by players of any skill level. The perk is an extra, meaning you can ignore it for the most part and upgrade other weapons that may need your pesetas more (it really doesn't need its perk to shine, unlike the other two). 2. M1903 for its sheer power as long as you can handle the bolt action gimmick of it. Not as good in a frenzy, since if you miss your shot, you're going to have to wait. 3. CQBR is powerful, but the kick makes it unwieldy and you don't get it until late in the game. Trigger happy players may accidentally also blow through their rifle ammo to quickly. Still can work fine if you can deal with all the quirks, but then the real question is "do you really need to deal with all that when the other rifles work just fine and are easier to handle?" Looking at all that, the perk thing is one of the biggest things for me on the weapon. The M1903 and CQBR really need their perk to shine. Without those, they're not nearly as good and that costs a LOT of pesetas. On the other hand, you DON'T NEED the perk on the Stingray. It's nice, but the rifle is powerful enough and already has a good rate of fire. This means pesetas (or tickets) to get perks on your other weapons (like your much used pistol).
Fun fact is that the CQBR actually has the worst penetration(2 Pen) out of the rifles. The Pen. is not super noticeable but can be a hinderance and technically means that it has the worst damage for dealing with crowds. The full auto can also cause you to accidentally fire 2 rounds instead of 1. Stingray is still my favorite.
While the 1903 is the most powerful one, especially for getting the most bang for your buck, I prefer the CQBR. As long as ammo isn't an issue (I'm using a mod to allow me to stack ammo better in my inventory, because a max of 15 rounds per stack is asinine), it's worth the loss in power per shot for the sheer amount of DPS. It absolutely wrecks everything and I love it.
I'd say the stingray is great for being new (I'm still new, only done 3 playthroughs) it's pretty accurate, you aren't left open if you miss a shot, and it's semi-auto so you aren't burning through ammo
RIP in Peace my boi, Semi-Auto Rifle. I've been using it despite it being numerically the worst one just because I like how it feels, but the fact that an automatic deals more damage per shot than it feels weird and just plain wrong. I decided to pick up the LE 5 in my current playthrough and I'm going to pivot back to the Bolt-Action after I max out that SMG because it covers Regenerators better than the Bolt-Action I feel. I wasn't planning on running an SMG until I got the Tommy Gun, but playing a lot of Mercenaries as HUNK sold me on the LE 5. It's a shame seeing how well balanced the Handguns, Shotguns, and SMGs are to then see Rifles and Magnums having some clear outliers that feel off. I hope those get addressed in a balance patch at some point, specifically the Stingray and Handcannon
The Classic Loadout Difficulty: Hardcore Pistol: SG-09R (Ghost) + Laser Sight Shotgun: W-870 Rifle: SR M1903 + Scope Magnum: Broken Butterfly RPG: Reserved for Saddler Knife: Combat Knife A satisfying challenge. Normally I end up relying on the Riot Gun & Matilda (with stock). To anyone reading - experiment with your loadout. Set yourself little challenges as you go. Helps keep your play varied & often improves your skill as you're forced to adapt.
To be perfectly honest, I actually like the bolt action rifle in this. As it’s optional for me not use the scope. I actually land better shots without the scope. And as for the assault rifle, when I put the scope on that sucker. Oh my god it looks absolutely perfect! I love that it was brought into this remake, and I will definitely use it in new game plus or as I call it “Vengeance” mode
I remember trying the CQBR right away because I thought it was an smg lmao. Couldn't belive the amount of smg ammo I had crafted when I realized about the Rifle ammo.
The FPS mode is kinda weird for these things. I really wish they made the ADS a 3rd person like all other guns and only give us FPS if we attach a scope
Even with no scope attached you'd still be aiming down the rifles' sights, not 3rd person. Furthermore that's always been the case for all the rifles in the original game as well, they never had 3rd person aiming for them to begin with. Your only chance of getting 3rd person aiming is through mods, provided there are any to begin with.
@@RazorPhoenix7The original RE4 has a VR port on the Oculus, and that game lets you use the rifle like a shotgun. As you can expect, it's a MONSTER OF A GUN
So "rifle" is an all-encompassing category. Sniper rifle, assault rifle, sporter rifle. The whole shebang under one..."umbrella," so to speak. Regarding fire rate or cyclic rate, that term isn't really meant to refer to firearms that don't have full-auto or burst-fire modes. From now on, ALL semi-auto guns in vidya games should function like Borderlands 2-era Jakobs, firing as fast you can pull the trigger. 1:00 That there's a beaut, man! 13 rounds is a huge capacity for that type of rifle. Also, it looks like a Jakobs. 1:21 Workin' that action like a champ! 2:32 SL8. A neutered "sporter" version of the G36.
Surprising how the first weapon unlocked is actually the most powerful, maybe a oversight from the gameplay designers? I was considering between the CQBR and Stinger, but I was wrong all along lol
I was given a "heads up" to buy the stingray as soon as possible, but I also heard Critical say he went bolty+red9 and so i knew both would be viable. Went with my gut and only used the bolt action on my first run and it SAVED my ass in so many spots where there was only a split second to move and i quickscoped that crit shot or even just any shot because it almost always staggers regular enemies. Also finishing a hoard with the last rifle bullet feels so clutch af. My second Playthrough is a themed "large-resource-weapon-only run" so I can really enjoy all the rifles and smgs without having to choose a favorite. And I m having LOADS of fun. The Bolty is effectively my new pistol except when tmp-ing treasure.
On controller the Stingray is just the most forgiving honestly. From everything I've seen many of the weapons are just better on Mouse and Keyboard because it's easier to make small adjustments for precision. On controller ESPECIALLY for the rifles it's difficult to not under or overshoot movements to actually hit critical spots, and even after playing with the sensitivity extensively I couldn't find any comfortable middle ground. The Assault Rifle also just burns through ammo on controller as it's difficult to do one taps without it shooting at least twice, where as you can simply click on mouse. This not only means you waste more ammo all the time on accident, but with it already being difficult to aim the full auto just makes it even worse. The 1903 feel comfortable but having to unscope to chamber a round means you often lose track of the enemy as they move closer to you. So just being able to stay down scope and not worry about accidentally wasting rounds makes the Stingray the best one for me.
Yeah I really struggle with the Snipers using a controller. I think because of the more accurate hitboxes and the different movement of the enemies compared to the original 😶
@@Kuschel_K Yeah that's also kinda the reason, the enemies move more dynamically, which is good for sure. But it does make it harder to use Snipers on controller. In the original all the enemies would kinda just walk towards you and group up without doing much else som
First time I used the CQBR, I figured it would use submachine gun ammo, and I had plenty of that. So I packed this thing and the stingray. That was a rude awakening when I found out that I had just blasted through my entire ammo for the first wave of regular enemies. I never used it again. With charms and everything, I can barely get enough rifle ammo for the stingray despite using it sparingly and hitting most of my shots. The bolt action is just too slow for me. The stingray can disappoint with its damage output, but its the only one that works for me.
The CBQR makes me anxious because rifle ammo is incredibly rare while the rifle eats through it. It honestly put me off enough that even though it probably would have been great for the regenerators I still sell it on my playthroughs. Semi auto loyalty babyyyy
Look man. Imma be honest. Love the vids and the showcase of weapons. But you can demonstrate how good the weapons are by fighting a boss or something? Or checking the accuracy by shooting something that’s not 15 meters away. I’m not hating I’m just trying to help evolve your channel.
Fun Fact: The hunting rifle is actually the Springfield Armory M1903. It was an infantry rifle for the U.S. that was eventually replaced by the M1 Garand after WW1. Even the cartridge in this game is incorrect on two reasons. The ammo type of this rifle is actually chambered in .30-06, not .223 Remington, and second, the .223 Remington cartridge is actually banned from being used as a hunting ammunition in most parts of the United States. The "Stingray" is actually not a sniper rifle. It is a Heckler & Koch SL8 chambered in 5.56×45mm or .223 Remington; it is the civilian version of the HK G36. The CQBR is actually a Colt M4A1 CQBR (MK18) chambered in a 5.56×45mm or .223 Remington. This is also, most definitely not a sniper or even a marksman rifle for that matter, for the caliber isn't suited for long range engagements nor is the barrel length of a mere 10.3 inches accurate past close quarters, as the name implies.
I’m an m1903 fanboy, it’s the gun that saves me time and time again. Even with the slow reload, i can slice my way through enemies and situations like a scalpel.
A very obvious thing to point out, but turning on the dot display in the settings makes these bad boys (especially the BAR) at least twice as good. For pad players/those with average aim, it's an absolute game changer. With the BAR, I line up the dot slightly to the right of what I'm about to shoot, scope in for a few frames and POP, we're back on Xbox 360 MW2. Chey-Tac city 👌
I didn’t realize the cqbr is better than the stingray in every way. But that bolt action is discounted early with a free scope and it’s hard to pass up
Well, it only becomes better after the exclusive while the Stingray exclusive isn't really necessary. So, if you're saving money to upgrade other guns, the Stingray might be better.
Based on the stats proved by the game, the bolt action does the least amount of damage coming in at (if crit *3 else *1(5.3*2)(13)(.53)) = 73.034 base damage, 219.102 crit damage. The stingray does (if crit *3 else *1 (4.9)(18)(.92*2)) = 162.288 base damage, 486.864 crit damage. The CQBR is bar the damage king with (if crit *3 else *1(3.4 * 1.5)(32)(2.5)) = 408 base damage, 1224 crit damage. So based on these, I can see why capcom made the AR balanced around rifle ammo vs SMG ammo which rifles could be kitted out to use. What I find the coolest in RE4 is that all weapons are viable, unlike the og, where you could carry the bolt action, it just became increasingly harder to use with the speed of the game ramping up while the speed of the game remains fairly consistant in the remake making most weapons viable.
The bolt-action used to be what I tolerated in RE4 until I could get the semi-auto, in the remake it's completely switched. The bolt-action is an absolute monster and I love it. I don't really know my guns but wouldn't that metal bit on the front of the CQBR be blocking the scope?
It would. That's why most modern AR/M4s have a front sight that can fold down out of the way or can be removed entirely. Not a big deal until you try to use a magnified optic. With a red dot sight some people want the iron sight there in case the battery dies on the red dot.
I’m forever in love with the M1, best rifle ever made. Also, it allows me to go slow with the ammo, I hate to burn through them, and I love the thrill of the reload 😂
I've played my first few playthroughs with the Stingray, because I always had good memories of the semi-auto sniper in RE4, but on my current S+ playthrough I've grown to love the bolt action a bit more, because I use it more sparringly, but when I do I NEED it to rip some heads off and the semi-auto just isn't as good here anymore. The assfault rifle seems good too, but honesly I had no idea that it actually uses sniper ammo. I always thought it was kind of a bigger TMP and I HATE the TMP here because of the ridiculous spread. Out of all the shooting range stages the ones where I had to use the TMP took me the longest to get an s rank AND they were the most annoying to me.
How about making a comparison video of all weapons with the ps vr2 version? That would be interesting. There is some interesting differences, like manual aim, scope, presision, reload time.
I am so-so with rifles in the game. Guess I would stick with the bolt action rifle. Tempting on getting it when you first run into it to get the free scope, but I was usually OK with the valley section without it, even though I play easy mode.
As you said, if you have Cat Ears, CQBR is Chicago but stronger, with high recoil, and with scope, it's a monster, but the best rifle without infinite ammo is clearly the M1903, strongest damage means more ammo eficcient, uses the least space of them all, and is cheaper, also animations are cool
Always refer to the M1903 as the poor man's magnum, It hits weak points as hard as one and you can afford to actually shoot it. Chainsaw Sisters and other things with head covers is what I use it for on new games or just starting from zero. Stingray for parasite removal without wasting ammo, CQBR for when I have cat ears.
I used the Stingray at my first playthrough cause it's more powerful and I'll spend less money than upgrading my 1903 when I reached the castle. Then I bought it again at new game plus, used the exclusive ticket immediately, and bought a high power scope, it feels much better already
I absolutely LOVED the CQB AR for all 20 bullets of its initial clip in my initial hardcore playthrough. Once I realized it took Rifle ammo, though? Sold it 😭 lmao I knew getting the ammo for that thing would be a rare thing lol I can't wait to get infinite ammo and just rip shit with that. Wish a Mercs character had that weapon as well.
After I completed my professional S+ run and got the cat ears, I wanted to do something harder, getting S+ on assisted mode xD Got the CQBR AR after the Ashley section And boy this thing ripped apart the bosses afterwards with the cat ears IMO there are 4 weapons in the game that are flat out broken when equipped with the cat ears : 1. Killer7 Mag 2. Matilda Handgun + the stock 3. The Riot Gun and of course 4. CQBR Assault Rifle
I don't know why, but for some reason I thought the first rifle's exclusive upgrade was reload speed 🤣 I think that is one of my very few nitpicks with this game, some guns in the same family have the same exclusive upgrade - I'd have much preferred if each was unique, but what makes sense on these rifles besides damage?
I have been watching your vids on all the weapons, as well as few others and its almost like Capcom took a look at every powerful gun from the orginal RE4 and nerfed the heck out of them. Red9, Striker, Stingray and even the Broken Butterfly are the "weakest" in their categories.
I agree with everything except Broken Butterfly. It's far better than the handcannon, assuming you have cat ears for infinite ammo. They absolutely massacred the handcannon in this game-- it's trash.
broken butterfly is the highest damage per shot, wdym lol, killer7 is only better in dps since it can shoot faster but magnum ammo being so little, i will take the bb over killer7 any day, would only use killer 7 with cat ears
@@ags8507 All the high damage per shot guns are better. BB is better than killer7, 1903 is better than the M4. Most of the handguns are viable however. New game runs are all about conserving ammo and having a full auto rifle is a terrible idea.
I agree with the CQBR too. It may lost the bullet for damage value, but It has the highest DPS to destroy a boss in the shortest amount of time Edit: And I'm a CS GO player, that counterspray is just our second nature
One thing nice about the Stringray is it doesn't need the final upgrade to be good so you can save money/tickets for something else. The damage isn't that much lower than the bolt action, 5.3 vs 4.9.
@@Richterdgf Since you get 95% of upgrade money back, you can just sell it once you have the money to fully upgrade the bolt or ar15. I do like to ticket the bolt early though.
I honestly don't find the Stingray all that bad. It's basically my go to rifle on my playthroughs because it's a semi auto and because it has a higher rate of fire than the M1903. I also love the CQBR but I don't have the ammo to use it that often.

Nice! 👍
🗿🗿🗿
All of the rifles are pretty good imo, so using any of the 3 it's ok
All the weapons are viable. There's no good or bad, it's all based on personal preference. 🙂
I can't remember the chapter but the section where Ashley holds the bridge while you switch the power over; the first time through the Regenerator that appears made me shit myself and in the panic I sprayed, wasting ammo and went back to the Stingray 🤣
After a few more playthroughs and getting everything upgraded I much prefer the CQBR, partly for boss dps but the mag size also saves space; the bolt action holds less than a full box of rifle ammo, the Stingray holds a wee bit more than a box, while the CQBR holds a little over 2 boxes - it seems minor but that's two more flash grenades I could have, two healing items, more ammo for different guns.
They see an M4 and automatically try to use it like a full auto weapon. Lol
👍
Being honest I’m not even watching these to determine what weapons I’m going to use they’re just really entertaining
Glad you like them enough to watch! 🙂
For me it's the stingray : very confortable shooting, manageable control and fire rate. It's the weakest but it's the easiest to have. The 1903 pull you out after each shoot making hard to track miss shot and correct and the CQB is an AR, very easy to lose control of the fire rate.
Agreed, stats aren't everything. The extra power isn't needed, you only need ao much to 1 shot
if you spot everything at a distance, the 1903 is the best overall for me, for close quarters the fully auto rifle is for you, ngl the stingray was ehh
@@69thbeegee Maybe if you only play on standard
@@Dacon on professional the Stingray can still oneshot headshot common enemies. It sucks as a boss killer but you won't be using it to kill bosses, you're using it to make Water Room easier, esp on an S+ run when CQBR isn't even available yet. Most S+ speedruns I've seen sell the 1903 and get the stingray immediately once they hit the castle.
@@Gilthwixt1 Yes, it CAN but often won't
After checking out your sub-machinegun video I decided to try out the LE5 with the bio monitor for the regenerator section in Ch13. I wasn’t able to clear them out as quickly as I was with the Stingray, you just can’t beat that low recoil and quick follow up potential. It may not be the best but for me the Stingray is my go to rifle.
👍
Same, I stuck with the stingray for my first play in hardcore and I’m going into a professional run with it, but I haven’t gone far in it yet so it’s still performing really well
This. You don't really need an *insane* amount of power. With the thermal scope regenerators are easy to kill. There's no point even fighting them before you get it. Just shoot their legs and run.
The stingray doesn't shred through ammo and has no away and basically zero recoil.
Good luck fighting multiple regenerators with the bolt action rifle, thats annoying enough to play with as Luis in the mercenaries mode
The Assault Rifle CQBR is by far the best but man your right if you're not set or with infinite ammo it chews up your reserves with full auto
I personally prefer the Stingray, because the forced bolt cycling animation of the 1903 always throws off my aim when im trying to quickly go between enemies.
👍
Yeah that’s why I sold mine. I got really sick of that
The CQBR is insane.. its like a carbine chambered for a 308 or 30o6
The only downside is the feather light trigger pull
The m1903 destroys absolutely everything. It’s easily the best rifle, and conserves serious amounts of ammo.
👍
Who would’ve thought this rifle was insane. From the OG re4 once I got the stingray I fell in love instantly it’s semi auto is good
They seem to have given the Stingray the wrong exclusive upgrade, considering the new rifle. They should change it to maybe 5x crit rate and bump up the normal fire rate a little bit.
True
the M1903 is the one and ONLY rifle i always use in the original game since i played it the first time.
In which case the gun and all those treasures and a Merchant request are lost to you forever :((
@@whatm8516 I'm amazed that can happen considering the door to the 2nd floor is pre-opened
@@rpgnerd7610 Yeah it's just deactivated. I looked around that whole Library trying to find something that could possibly fix it. But to no avail lol
You actually forget something, you can buy it if you missed that and it can be purchased on Chapter 11 (Luis section) for 40k Peseta and 28k when discount happened. CQBR main issue is bad recoil and you need trigger control to make easy shots.
👍
Pros/Cons of each:
SR 1903: Good damage and accuracy, very reliable in general.
Doesn't. Not for me.
bra I fucking no scope opps with the normal Rifle cus that's how good it is
Well said!!...
👍
IM LIVING FOR THESE
Ty ty! Big fan!
Woah I didn’t know the CQBR takes sniper rifle ammo ! 😮
The CQBR is based on the H&K 416 and the Stingray is based on the H&K SL8.Both of them use 5.56x45mm NATO so that's why the CQBR use rifle ammo
Yea, it's a little sneaky with it. 😂
Awesome to see your last couple vids blow up
Damn this a great way to review guns and a great video! Thanks bro, funny how you found a spot to review all guns like a shooting range
Ty! I later realized I should've used some live targets to better showcase the weapons in action but i might do something about that later on. 🙂
Close your eyes. Congratulations, you are now listening to Jocko Willink talk
I always put the dot on my HUD just for the rifles, makes it even easier when aiming
👍
How do you put the dot on for HUD on the rifles?
I have the ps4 version and the aim sway on console for the first rifle compared to the stingray makes the stingray feel like a straight upgrade
👍
Great video. Thanks, will check these out
Stingray for me by far.
Still can work fine if you can deal with all the quirks, but then the real question is "do you really need to deal with all that when the other rifles work just fine and are easier to handle?"
Looking at all that, the perk thing is one of the biggest things for me on the weapon.
👍
CQBR is a beast and the Stingray is another great tool as well. But the old school bolt action as its charmed paired with the W870 great combo 👌
Can't really afford to play re3 but I do enjoy watching peoples runs and tech via TH-cam

Nice! 👍
I remember trying the CQBR right away because I thought it was an smg lmao.
Couldn't belive the amount of smg ammo I had crafted when I realized about the Rifle ammo.
TY for your RE4 remake vids! i hope u make more
Bro the M4 with the car ears and thermal is OP, game breaker!
Tbf almost any weapon maxed with cat ears is a game breaker.
👍
The FPS mode is kinda weird for these things. I really wish they made the ADS a 3rd person like all other guns and only give us FPS if we attach a scope
It's for balancing.
You give the M1903 the ability to be used like a shotgun (from player perspective) & everything will become dust.
@Hellboy would be fun though. It's already possible with no scope attached
2:32 SL8. A neutered "sporter" version of the G36.
i love these vids ❤
I'm glad someone else said it, I thought I was going crazy. The stinger is way worse than the og semi auto rifle.
Surprising how the first weapon unlocked is actually the most powerful, maybe a oversight from the gameplay designers? I was considering between the CQBR and Stinger, but I was wrong all along lol
Great video
Sr m1903 for high power per shot
Cqbr for high dps
Stingray is balance between those 2 , it not good but not bad either
👍
👍
Yeah I really struggle with the Snipers using a controller. I think because of the more accurate hitboxes and the different movement of the enemies compared to the original 😶
@@Kuschel_K Yeah that's also kinda the reason, the enemies move more dynamically, which is good for sure. But it does make it harder to use Snipers on controller. In the original all the enemies would kinda just walk towards you and group up without doing much else som
Stingray with X-ray scope was mint for me tbh
Solid choice! 👍
Rocking the same charms I roll with! Excellent!
Heck yea! 👍
OMG SAL VULCANO HIIIIII
The cqbr is an absolute beast when powered up
Bro I thought Sal from Impractical Jokers made a gaming channel for a second lmfaooo
👍
I wish there was an option to "hipfire" ( no ads ) the CQBR
Always refer to the M1903 as the poor man's magnum, It hits weak points as hard as one and you can afford to actually shoot it. Chainsaw Sisters and other things with head covers is what I use it for on new games or just starting from zero. Stingray for parasite removal without wasting ammo, CQBR for when I have cat ears.
I used the Stingray at my first playthrough cause it's more powerful and I'll spend less money than upgrading my 1903 when I reached the castle. Then I bought it again at new game plus, used the exclusive ticket immediately, and bought a high power scope, it feels much better already
straight to the point
thats what i like
I absolutely LOVED the CQB AR for all 20 bullets of its initial clip in my initial hardcore playthrough. Once I realized it took Rifle ammo, though? Sold it 😭 lmao I knew getting the ammo for that thing would be a rare thing lol I can't wait to get infinite ammo and just rip shit with that.
Wish a Mercs character had that weapon as well.
👍
Hunk has infinite machine gun ammo with his mayhem mode. Not as powerful, but it's a lot of fun.
Gotta say your inventory looks clean
After I completed my professional S+ run and got the cat ears, I wanted to do something harder, getting S+ on assisted mode xD
Got the CQBR AR after the Ashley section
And boy this thing ripped apart the bosses afterwards with the cat ears
IMO there are 4 weapons in the game that are flat out broken when equipped with the cat ears :
1. Killer7 Mag
2. Matilda Handgun + the stock
3. The Riot Gun
and of course 4. CQBR Assault Rifle
I don't know why, but for some reason I thought the first rifle's exclusive upgrade was reload speed 🤣
I think that is one of my very few nitpicks with this game, some guns in the same family have the same exclusive upgrade - I'd have much preferred if each was unique, but what makes sense on these rifles besides damage?
That's about it. Either damage or fire rate.
@@Kenndrik - and even fire rate I'm not really wanting on a weapon used for its weak point multiplier.
Yeah critical rate would've been nice or further weak point modifier.
@@CrnaStrela - oooh I like that idea, weak point modifier would have been perfect on the Stingray in my opinion and crit rate fits the CQBR nicely.
You're correct on all those guns except the Broken Butterfly. I will go over it on the next vid. :)
broken butterfly is the highest damage per shot, wdym lol, killer7 is only better in dps since it can shoot faster but magnum ammo being so little, i will take the bb over killer7 any day, would only use killer 7 with cat ears
@@ags8507 All the high damage per shot guns are better. BB is better than killer7, 1903 is better than the M4. Most of the handguns are viable however. New game runs are all about conserving ammo and having a full auto rifle is a terrible idea.
I agree with the CQBR too. It may lost the bullet for damage value, but It has the highest DPS to destroy a boss in the shortest amount of time
Edit: And I'm a CS GO player, that counterspray is just our second nature
You kinda remind me to the German streamer MontanaBlack for some reason :D
One thing nice about the Stringray is it doesn't need the final upgrade to be good so you can save money/tickets for something else. The damage isn't that much lower than the bolt action, 5.3 vs 4.9.
Until you get that Exclusive.....
@@Richterdgf Since you get 95% of upgrade money back, you can just sell it once you have the money to fully upgrade the bolt or ar15. I do like to ticket the bolt early though.
judging by the Stats
BOW Really just Depends on Scare and Psychological Factor
.30-06 Power and 5.56 Burst are just Enough to Dispatch Them
I honestly don't find the Stingray all that bad. It's basically my go to rifle on my playthroughs because it's a semi auto and because it has a higher rate of fire than the M1903. I also love the CQBR but I don't have the ammo to use it that often.
I use the cbqr personally and it rjos though enemies fully upgraded
👍
This thing with cat ears is the most op weapon you can ask for
Next video will be best Leon one liner.
Then after that will be best way to continue the Redfield Bloodline xD
