Leon's knife 🗡️ melee moves could've been more fluid like a Esrima expert. The way he moved his blade is like someone who has little training in 🗡️ combat unlike Kruser his movements are more formal.

In my first playthrough I was very careful with my combat knife and made sure I always had a couple spares in case I was in a pinch. I often avoided being grabbed, but shit happens fast if you're spotted. I was clever enough to find & destroy all the clockwork castellans and unlocked the primal knife in my 1st playthrough and once I started up my 2nd playthrough - I immediately maxed it out so I never had to use any other knife again. That primal knife is my best pal lol.
The original one has just remained my favorite because of that attack speed buff. Really helps with opening boxes quick which is great for looting in combat.
Leon's original, or Primal Knife is a Mercworx Sniper. Krauser's knife is a Mercworx Tactical Fighter that's been modified by removing a set of spikes near the base of the blade.
Sort of. Leon's knife has a similar blade to the Mercworx line, but an overmolded plastic or rubber handle. Krauser's is the one modeled after the Mercworx Sniper. I don't know if Mercworx ever had a model named "tactical fighter", but back when the original RE4 came out, Mercworx only had a few models of knife, but they all had the same style of blade of a few different sizes. Now they have a bunch more models of almost every size up to the Goliath, which has almost a 10" blade. Also a fun fact, Chris's knife in RE5 is based on the Mercworx Goliath, but its even bigger. I've been a knife nerd for a long time. 😅
I do like the Primal knife. Used a ticket (not one of the paid tickets, mind you) to get the exclusive perk right away, no more issues with broken knives. You dont realize how useful that is until you find yourself having to fight several enemies with a knife that is at half durability and you didnt grab any boot knives because you lacked the space because you didnt priorities larger cases over pumping up the Red9.
@@bardockshiny not easily. Most players are only able to get one per game. This enables you to get multiple. Its single player, play it how you want and mind your business.
I use the fighting knife on bosses and just use the primal knife in regular gameplay since mostly I'm knifing downed/stealth enemies or parrying and the durability is most important there
Yeah even using it to break free of a grab will just kill the enemy most of the time. Also really good for bosses where you get the chance to stab their weak points. Maybe worth using both fighting and primal. Use the fighting one first until it breaks.
Striker Charm and the Illuminados Charm for the run speed and melee critical at all times are the goat. Its a toss up between what you want after that personally for the third slot!

primal knife full upgrade is the main one to keep on you until youre enough playthroughs in to where you have money to spare and repairing the fighting knife is not an issue anymore.
Basically NG+. Primal knife is mainly good for regular NG once you unlock it as a bonus weapon... not even all that useful for S+ since you're better off spending your first infinite ticket on the Chicago Typewriter. From my own experience, the Fighting Knife is by far the best one. It's not as fast as the first knife, but it's so powerful that it takes care of the Krauser fights in no time. It doing more damage when defending with it or when you just decide to knife a few enemies for some reason also helps. It does have the lowest durability, but the power makes up for it. It's just that you get it too late in a regular NG to make good use of the knife since it's not only costly to upgrade, but also requires you to be just past the point of where it would have been most useful.
I use the primal knife for it's indestructibility, but since I discarded all my boot and kitchen knives, the game keeps giving me extra knives instead of ammo. Funny that the game thinks I'm running out of knives instead of seeing that I have a unbreakable blade lol
it's the same thing with hand cannon in og re4. because game keep dropping hc ammo instead of seeing you have a magnum with infinite fucking bullet on the other hand we have TMP. im currently doing a TMP only run and although it's LATERALLY the only gun im carrying, game ACTIVELY refuses to drop any tmp ammo what so ever basically pre_set locations are my only hope to get some bullet, i swear the way ammo drop works ( at least in og ) is really ridiculous😑
I'm working on trying to get the Primal Knife and possibly Ashley's knight armor in my current run. I tend to not really use the knife too offensively because of the limited durability, and mainly just save it for parries and break-aways by stabbing something when it grabs you. Just the thought that I might not have it when I need it to get out of a jam makes me tend to use the default one defensively and maybe keep a boot knife or 2. I feel like I haven't really explored all I can really even do with the knife so I'm looking forward to getting all those Castellan dolls
Honestly when I heard about the “Primal knife” I was expecting some sort of Rambo bowie machete. But I’m glad they brought back Leon’s OG knife (more like OP knife)
I used all knives in my ng+ run on pro and they all had their uses, I used combat for exploration or one on one fight with regular enemies, the fighting knife for bosses or 3-5 enemies due to it 3 shotting them and the primal for parrying
As soon as I unlocked the Fighting and Primal Knife I kinda put the RPD one away and honestly after a few play throughs using all of em I come to the conclusion it’s best to have all three Knife after each one is upgraded to the max they all are very useful for instance the Fighting knife is the strongest and is best used on bosses and enemies like the El Giantic and Dr Saldor the chainsaw guy after getting two heads shots on the chainsaw guy stunning him gives you the prompt to melee/knife attack and well the knife attack always kills on hardcore and same thing with El Giantic after getting it on its knees pretty much slash away and one combo kills him (one combo for the amour one as well) the Fighting knife is also op against Verdugo after freezing and stunning him follow with a melee and just aim for its head after 4 to 5 times you can kill it before the elevator comes now the RPD Knife max out attacked speed is very fun and is best used for groups of enemies stunning them and getting melee attacks of and is also really fun against Krauser except for the transformed Krauser as fighting knife will help you more by being able to parry on not being stuck in a animation and deal high damage but overall first play throughs RPD knife is the one to upgrade and the Primal knife the sweet og ♾ infinite knife well this one will pretty much never come out of your case and is the best plus you can switch to this one after your other two mains or broken or too just save durability
Not worth it when you wanna stack up weapons, ammo and healing items, unless I'm doing a gun/knife only run I don't see any reason for having all 3 of them in my inventory.
@@gelothegogang no to be fair you only need two Primal as your main and fighting to finishing of enemies faster with strike or combo but the whole reason to run three are to save ammo and fighting and RPD knife are honestly more effective to use
@@gogetathestrongestfusion I barely see any huge difference between Combat and Fighting Knife, they seem to break easily despite being at max especially on Hardcore mode against a single Garrador.
@@gelothegogang beside on a Garrador (Just use primal and shotgun the parasite) they are really effective against everyone else a good example is against regenerators primal knife and the Combat Knife would not be to effective but the fighting knife absolutely destroys with the 3.6 power it helps you save ammo specially when you destroy the containers with the regenerators and they are on the ground giving you the chance to slash away at them basically a Fighting knife will pretty much help you on shot a chainsaw guy or one combo a El Giantic on hardcore and will cut get throughs shields, limbs and regenerators like cake the combat one is for fun and Primal should be your main give them a shot again and you see the difference mainly when the knife attack prompt pops up or in combat
Honestly it doesn't seem like a big thing to repair knives, but that money REALLY adds up over the course of the game, so I love the Primal Knife as a result, it's great for new game runs since even before the exclusive upgrade it's still the most durable of the knives.
The fighting knife is my favorite purely because it looks so cool and Badass and it's the knife of my favorite villian in the game which is master of knives, plus if you max it out with it's power and combine it with deer antlers a knife only run on professional becomes a cake walk so it can be the most op weapon
Starting my last run on Hardcore I was quite grateful to find any and every lesser knife I could find haha, and if you're doing anything with the bolt thrower they're a must; so at least they're not completely worthless. In the long run though they are literally toothpicks in comparison to the others lol
Leon stabbing reminds me of Jill in RE5 Super speed! AS a fan of Krauser (og Krauser) that knife looks sick (even have a self made knife prop of it) but since it's the most 'brittle' i'm probably gonna pivot to the 'normal' knife (no not the knife Leon uses gifted from Marvin). Since it's how things should be
So, in mercenaries, krauser uses the fighting knife to the best ability 3x slash per attack. If Leon was trained by him why doesn’t Leon get the three slash attack like Krauser? It would be so broken. My fav is the fighting knife. The durability is lower but your doing over 2x the damage.
IMO Krauser's knife is the best one because in hardcore/Pro difficulty enemy stagger is damage based. Combat Knife may have the highest DPS but enemy will usually die or hit you before they get staggered. Fighting knife can stun lock enemy much easier. Flashbang knife kill/ stealth kill/ grounded kill deal 48x damage so the base power makes a lot difference.
Does the attack power increase the damage on just swings and pokes, or does it deal more damage when you impale enemies with it, often in their weak points? Mostly interested in this for Krauser's Combat Knife when fully upgraded if that 3.6 damage makes those weak point stabs significantly more powerful.
It does, you can easily test this with the Bella sisters, with the fighting knife if you flashbang them and stab, they go down I one. If you use a regular knife, well.... Not so much in one
@@KittStargazer keep in mind that the damage multipliers is only applied on aggressive stabs, as when they are laying on the ground or back stabs, not on the defensive stabs however
I haven’t unlocked the primal knife yet cuz I haven’t focused on the clockwork castellan hunt. My go to since maxing it out has been the fighting knife. When grappled by the infected, when knifed they die immediately.
Krauser's knife is the beautiful knife i have ever seen, it was the only thing i loved in the original RE4, I will enjoy it here bc RE4 Remake has so many improvements and atmorsphere, its the opposite of original RE4 thankfully.
Blue emblem charm? You mean the Iluminados Emblem? It says meelw 20% critical hit rate but the meele part accounta for knife ? I ask because we have two separate extta content accesories, the Antlers for knife and wold tail for meele so...
I use the fighting knife for poking folks and the primal for parry or grab escapes(for example, if I know there are tons of enemies or dogs skulking about)
I use both krauzers knife and the primal knife. Krauzers for bosses or if I stun a big enemy like the chainsaw or hammer guys and for fighting krauzer himself. Primal for normal gameplay because it cant break so parrys and when they grab me I'm always good
I love the combat knife (Marvins knife) The best is the Primal Knife (Leons original knife) But my favourite is by far the Fighting Knife (Krausers knife) I just wish it was able to made infinite.
Use WeMod You can make all the knives have infinite durability using their cheat and I’m sure someone has mad a mod to make all knives have unlimited durability by now.
If you like to knife regenerators then the krauser knife will let you kill the plaga on their backs while stabbing from the front as the hitbox is larger.
I like to use the fighting knife. You can easily kill an El Gigante during the first time you jump onto his back with that knife (even on professional)
Is it just me or does each of the knives have differing ranges? I mean like, the reach you have with em. Like for instance, in the farm area just after where the chainsaw demo takes place in the village, where you get your first merchant request to bust up blue medallions, I like to go stealthy and takedown all the villagers here and break 4 of the 5 medallions with my knife, but for some reason the Combat Knife just can't reach the one in the shed or even the pearl pendant hanging from the windmill blade, while the Primal Knife can. And it seems like the Fighting Knife has an even easier time hitting them.... is there any chance you can do some testing for this hidden "melee range" stat? Maybe another video or short?
Primal knife is OP Cause of it's infinite durability but once you've bought and upgraded everything there's not much use for your pesetas other than repairing your gear so the other knives become pretty viable.
Lets be real here yall: once you get the exclusive for the primal knife, its literally pointless to use any other knife. Marvin's knife tho is my second favorite, which i affectionately call it "Marvin" whenever i parry a chainsaw with it im screaming "Marvin save me!"
A shield enemy got too close, so I panicked hit with my knife. Krouser one It broke his Shield instantly. I had it fully upgraded. I did not know I could do that. This was on standard difficult new game, plus I'm not sure if it's different on the higher ones?
i just carry all of em in my inventory lmao, fightin knife n combat knife for bosses, primal for general use, freeing ashley, stunnin cultists with leg shots n usin it for finishin blows etc
does the illuminados emblem also apply to the melee attacks when an enemy is stunned? because i know the wolf tail does and it says increases melee attack damage, but we also have the deer antlers which specifically say knife damage, also any idea if the wolf tail also affects the knife since it counts as melee for the emblem?
Krauser knife hasn't let me down. Cuts what I need it to, long reach and while durability isn't great, it'll last you a long time if you take care of it, oil it and sharpen. In real life though, I haven't played REmake 4 yet. Oh you meant knife use in VIDEO GAMES. Must have clicked on the kids channel.
Marvin couldn’t have given Leon that knife because canonically in resident evil 2 remake Claire does almost everything first and is the first to the Lab even. She would have had that knife before Leon.
It could be up to the player to decide the canon? The description entails “during his time in the RPD” that could pertain to Marvin or him just finding it during the Racoon city incident.

Just play on pc, use a mod that make all knives indestructible. Making fighting knife with its whooping 3.6 att power paired with deer's antler making normal enemies a joke. Make sure leon at max health and also use body armor. This is for new game plus on hardcore, professional is only fun for new game plus for speed run since this build is for killing all enemies and leave none alive with just a knife.
The real question is WHO IS THE BEST PERSON THAT WIELDS THE KNIFE *AND THATS KRAUSER BABY* You know you're a badass when you reverse grip it and can just destroy Granados in mercenaries, can't wait for the mods that'll let us play as them in the story like in the OG (HUNK with his signature neckbreak will be a big bonus)
Defense : Primal Knife. If you using it. No point of using the combat knife if you have it. Offense : Fighting Knife, better for combat especially against bosses when they knocked out for Leon to stab.

It has too much sentiment to value to me now I I played but did not like the second game, so I have no sentimental value. Attached to it is so when I got a Krouser Knife I Sold it Immediately
Really wish the game would give you the special weapons in order to being able to complete the Professional mode. Not like something you may use to make it easier but as something necessary to progress. Say like the infinite knife being necessary to fight Krauser if the game were to make him incredibly aggressive on professional or maybe having to use the handcannon in order to kill Salvador or any kind of mini boss

True, but repairs are so cheap and the knives don’t break enough for it to be as good as double damage or attack speed up

You Forgot The Kitchen and The Boot Knives
Once you get used to the super fast combat knife the others are hard to adjust to. Fighting knife DPS is definitely superior though.

Not worth it when you wanna stack up weapons, ammo and healing items, unless I'm doing a gun/knife only run I don't see any reason for having all 3 of them in my inventory.
@@gelothegogang no to be fair you only need two Primal as your main and fighting to finishing of enemies faster with strike or combo but the whole reason to run three are to save ammo and fighting and RPD knife are honestly more effective to use
@@gogetathestrongestfusion I barely see any huge difference between Combat and Fighting Knife, they seem to break easily despite being at max especially on Hardcore mode against a single Garrador.
@@gelothegogang beside on a Garrador (Just use primal and shotgun the parasite) they are really effective against everyone else a good example is against regenerators primal knife and the Combat Knife would not be to effective but the fighting knife absolutely destroys with the 3.6 power it helps you save ammo specially when you destroy the containers with the regenerators and they are on the ground giving you the chance to slash away at them basically a Fighting knife will pretty much help you on shot a chainsaw guy or one combo a El Giantic on hardcore and will cut get throughs shields, limbs and regenerators like cake the combat one is for fun and Primal should be your main give them a shot again and you see the difference mainly when the knife attack prompt pops up or in combat

Honestly it doesn't seem like a big thing to repair knives, but that money REALLY adds up over the course of the game, so I love the Primal Knife as a result, it's great for new game runs since even before the exclusive upgrade it's still the most durable of the knives.
The Leon charm to repair the knife can save with the money a bit, even tho it’s not much, it’s still nice to get a discount
The fighting knife is my favorite purely because it looks so cool and Badass and it's the knife of my favorite villian in the game which is master of knives, plus if you max it out with it's power and combine it with deer antlers a knife only run on professional becomes a cake walk so it can be the most op weapon

Starting my last run on Hardcore I was quite grateful to find any and every lesser knife I could find haha, and if you're doing anything with the bolt thrower they're a must; so at least they're not completely worthless. In the long run though they are literally toothpicks in comparison to the others lol

AS a fan of Krauser (og Krauser) that knife looks sick (even have a self made knife prop of it) but since it's the most 'brittle' i'm probably gonna pivot to the 'normal' knife (no not the knife Leon uses gifted from Marvin). Since it's how things should be
So, in mercenaries, krauser uses the fighting knife to the best ability 3x slash per attack.
If Leon was trained by him why doesn’t Leon get the three slash attack like Krauser?
It would be so broken. My fav is the fighting knife. The durability is lower but your doing over 2x the damage.

IMO Krauser's knife is the best one because in hardcore/Pro difficulty enemy stagger is damage based.
Combat Knife may have the highest DPS but enemy will usually die or hit you before they get staggered.
Fighting knife can stun lock enemy much easier.
Flashbang knife kill/ stealth kill/ grounded kill deal 48x damage so the base power makes a lot difference.

Does the attack power increase the damage on just swings and pokes, or does it deal more damage when you impale enemies with it, often in their weak points? Mostly interested in this for Krauser's Combat Knife when fully upgraded if that 3.6 damage makes those weak point stabs significantly more powerful.
It does, you can easily test this with the Bella sisters, with the fighting knife if you flashbang them and stab, they go down I one. If you use a regular knife, well.... Not so much in one

I haven’t unlocked the primal knife yet cuz I haven’t focused on the clockwork castellan hunt. My go to since maxing it out has been the fighting knife. When grappled by the infected, when knifed they die immediately.
I use the primal not cuz infinite durability but cuz its what he used in og re4
Krauser's knife is the beautiful knife i have ever seen, it was the only thing i loved in the original RE4, I will enjoy it here bc RE4 Remake has so many improvements and atmorsphere, its the opposite of original RE4 thankfully.

I use both krauzers knife and the primal knife. Krauzers for bosses or if I stun a big enemy like the chainsaw or hammer guys and for fighting krauzer himself. Primal for normal gameplay because it cant break so parrys and when they grab me I'm always good

Use WeMod You can make all the knives have infinite durability using their cheat and I’m sure someone has mad a mod to make all knives have unlimited durability by now.
If you like to knife regenerators then the krauser knife will let you kill the plaga on their backs while stabbing from the front as the hitbox is larger.
I like to use the fighting knife. You can easily kill an El Gigante during the first time you jump onto his back with that knife (even on professional)

Is it just me or does each of the knives have differing ranges? I mean like, the reach you have with em. Like for instance, in the farm area just after where the chainsaw demo takes place in the village, where you get your first merchant request to bust up blue medallions, I like to go stealthy and takedown all the villagers here and break 4 of the 5 medallions with my knife, but for some reason the Combat Knife just can't reach the one in the shed or even the pearl pendant hanging from the windmill blade, while the Primal Knife can. And it seems like the Fighting Knife has an even easier time hitting them.... is there any chance you can do some testing for this hidden "melee range" stat? Maybe another video or short?

Primal knife is OP Cause of it's infinite durability but once you've bought and upgraded everything there's not much use for your pesetas other than repairing your gear so the other knives become pretty viable.

A shield enemy got too close, so I panicked hit with my knife. Krouser one It broke his Shield instantly. I had it fully upgraded. I did not know I could do that.
This was on standard difficult new game, plus I'm not sure if it's different on the higher ones?

does the illuminados emblem also apply to the melee attacks when an enemy is stunned? because i know the wolf tail does and it says increases melee attack damage, but we also have the deer antlers which specifically say knife damage, also any idea if the wolf tail also affects the knife since it counts as melee for the emblem?
Fully upgrades Krauser's knife power + deer antlers = Lv1 power of any shotgun.

Krauser knife hasn't let me down. Cuts what I need it to, long reach and while durability isn't great, it'll last you a long time if you take care of it, oil it and sharpen. In real life though, I haven't played REmake 4 yet. Oh you meant knife use in VIDEO GAMES. Must have clicked on the kids channel.
I use the fighting knife but all ways keep the primal knife on me for when the first knife breaks.
Marvin couldn’t have given Leon that knife because canonically in resident evil 2 remake Claire does almost everything first and is the first to the Lab even. She would have had that knife before Leon.
It could be up to the player to decide the canon? The description entails “during his time in the RPD” that could pertain to Marvin or him just finding it during the Racoon city incident.

Just play on pc, use a mod that make all knives indestructible. Making fighting knife with its whooping 3.6 att power paired with deer's antler making normal enemies a joke. Make sure leon at max health and also use body armor. This is for new game plus on hardcore, professional is only fun for new game plus for speed run since this build is for killing all enemies and leave none alive with just a knife.
The combat knife is also the fastest in attack

Offense : Fighting Knife, better for combat especially against bosses when they knocked out for Leon to stab.
Combat has slightly higher DPS than the Primal and all starting players will be using it for majority of their 1st playthroughs. 🙂

Really wish the game would give you the special weapons in order to being able to complete the Professional mode. Not like something you may use to make it easier but as something necessary to progress. Say like the infinite knife being necessary to fight Krauser if the game were to make him incredibly aggressive on professional or maybe having to use the handcannon in order to kill Salvador or any kind of mini boss
