When now there are thousands of Justin Jeffersen autos and 1 of 1's... This industry is insane, Somebody is gonna get caught holding the bag! I'd say your best bet would be low-grade 52 Mantle Rookie and PSA-9 older rookies... or just PSA 9/9.5 mega cards... You'll get collectors paying top dollar trying to repeatedly regrade them trying for PSA 10... this Rickey rookie for example... PSA 10= $180,000 and PSA 9 is $1800?? You don't think the grading system is corrupt at all?

Yeah we paid 25 cents a Pack back then. Thanks to Dr. James Beckett for Ruining our once great Hobby for kids. Once he entered the Hobby it went to Hell. He was an Investor. He did all of what he did to get Rich off of kids. What a piece of Crap. The Fun is long gone.

He finally turned and noticed me and I go “Mr Gwynn I’m from San Diego! Wil you please sign my hall?” I’m 11 or 12, btw… Tony goes “not now kid, I’m busy” and returns to talking to the Ump. I wasn’t mad, but it ruined how my dad viewed Tony forever after lol. That part I feel the worst about.

Then Look at the Jordan 9s, they're value are more in line price. I understand we are talking about Jordan, but the gap and ratio between the Henderson 9 and 10 are way off in my opinion.
There are way to many 9’s in circulation. The population exceeds demand so that’s why it’s really not undervalued. There are definitely some low pop 9’s that are extremely undervalued though. Especially Jordan cards

I vividly remember going to the Newberry's store in February of 1980 and seeing hundreds upon hundreds of 1980 topps rack packs hanging from the shelves. So wish I could go back and buy em all.
I bought a Henderson rookie at the Nashville flea market as a young teenager in 1983. The seller claimed mint condition so I plopped down twenty dollars. When I was married with kids exactly 20 years later I sent it to Beckett. It came back a 8.5 with the sub grades. Still got him in my PC in the sentimental sector.

I have one that was the top card in a cello pack. I bought it from a store that sold old baseball cards in packs in the late 80s. I was a bit older (late teens,) and it went straight into a penny sleeve and top loader. It’s in perfect condition, but I would never get it graded as it’s been POP controlled to a ridiculous extreme so I doubt it would get a 10 even though it’s beautiful.

Yes it does the chances of getting a PSA 10 is 100 times more. But I don't trust trim PSA cards because they have a history of trimming cards and working with auction houses
My mom bought a box in 1980 to bribe my brother to do his housechores but he hated baseball, so the box sat on top of our fridge til 1988 - when I was 10 and just started little league & collecting cards… I would get 1 pack to open every time I did I big chore and on the last pack I pulled Ricky! I remember it being off center a little but I didn’t care - he was my favorite player because he was small and fast (like me)! Anyways. I miss that card and won’t rest til I get one again! In 1975 I was 17 years old and I was hitchhiking from my boarding school to where I was from Los Angeles. I started in Colorado Springs and after a couple of rides, I was on the ramp to freeway in Albuquerque a bronco with a puppy and a small pot plant. It was Pete LaCock! He was on his way to LA to play in his high school alumni game. He was a great guy with lots of baseball stories. He gave me a ride all the way to his Dads house in Los Angeles where I stayed overnight. His Dad was Peter Marshall from Hollywood Square’s He saved my life. ✊

The PSA9 is a super undervalued card. It should be much, much higher in relation to the gap between a 9 and 10. The 9 should be a five figure card.
If you believe that then you should be out cornering that underpriced card.
The price difference is because 10's are almost impossible. Centering and print issues back in the 80's.

The memories open cases of this with my dad searching for the rookie also opening cases 86 fleer and getting Jordan rookies back in the 80s

Geoff, you can get a 1933 Babe Ruth stereoview card for under $300 and they typically sell for $2000 or so at shows. Great arbitrage there.
