I love how people complain about not getting a manual in a sports car, and if there’s only a manual, they complain that they want faster shifting with an automatic. Then they complain when sports cars stop being produced. We are extremely fortunate Toyota is going all-in and giving us three different sports cars, with possibly two more on the way. Go buy one!! I just wish manufacturers abandon the DEALERSHIP part of sales... and just sell directly to consumers... tired of all the haggling and going back and forth and trying to get the best price for a mainstream non limited production car. That's why I love Lexus and having done business with more luxury brands and sales people to me make more sense, either A you can afford the car or B you can't and no reason to haggle with majority of the mainstream brands bullsh*t markups.

Why would Toyota do that? It’s a stupid argument. This car is a passion project led by Akio Toyoda, not some basic commuter shitbox like the regular Corolla.
If the visual changes to the front aren't functional, then it looks worse. If they are functional, then it looks better IMO. (think back to the fake exhaust ports stamped into the bumper of the regular Corolla Hatch)
I don't care about the fog lights, but I do think the old bumper looked better. The new version might look better with a darker colored car like the grey. However, gloss black plastic on the front of your car is going to to get scratches and rock chips instantly....
I was thinking of getting one but after driving my friend's 2024 GR Corolla last night, I am definitely want one now in a 6 speed. But I agree with Kirk, I prefer a set of fog lights since it is a nod to the rally roots and it will be best where I live with tons of fog.

Manuals are definitely FUN. But only when you upshift. If your not a professional you run the risk of messing up the engine downshifting even if it has the “intelligent manual tech”

You gotta be really pushing the car and not paying attention to your shifts And plus, if you’re a new driver, you shouldn’t be trying to shift fast anyways Unpopular opinion, driving in traffic isn’t that bad, driving stick keeps me occupied lol
I’d be interested to see the 2 compared both in the same colour. Heavy metal grey looks quite good, and I think it’ll compliment the new grill better than the red does.

I think all the changes that they made to the GR Corolla is good. It’s the front bumper. I’ll be very honest with you for a circuit edition $43,000 compared to the new type R that is $45,000. The fact that you can get fog lightsOEM from the factory it was a big plus I am a big fog light guy and I think it really does help the driving experience for any car but the fact that they took it away and gave it some ugly looking transformer front bumper really kinda makes me not want to get the car anymore. Just sucks a lot of manufacturers. I just take away all the lights from cars that track cars but they could be street cars at the same time. Sad.
Agree with you, same with the Yaris version, I preferred the original front design as it had more body colour so more aesthetically appealing. Understand these changes are for cooling etc. The Corolla really could do with a bigger rear spoiler as standard, doesn’t look right without one

Circuit edition has the big spoiler, special plaque on the interior, and GR-four stenciled on the intercooler. HUD amd dual climate control is new to 2025, previous USDM GR Corollas never had HUD nor dual zone climate controls, but JDM and Aussie versions always had them.
The new front bumper looks much better now. The GRC's front looked ugly before. Damn, this is really tempting if I want to replace my Veloster N DCT with another hot hatch. It doesn't sound like this new transmission is a dual-clutch. This has a lot of comfort features I like in Premium trim, but also lacks a handful of things compared to the VN. Ultimately, I'm probably not willing to pay over 50k for a Corolla though and a minor upgrade in performance. The N badge is more special to me than GR.
good luck finding a manual in the future. same thing happened to the veloster N once the DCT was released, manual all but became extinct. dealers will just stock the auto they know anyone can purchase/drive.
That's not true. DCT Veloster Ns are a lot more rare because there were less produced. The used ones you now see are dealers are usually always manual.
Excellent update for GR COROLLA and its better than ever. Its very much king of high performance compact cars 👑🤴and now there is even a automatic option as well. People who complain about the auto should understand. Manual is still available.
Puzzling. When I asked at my local dealer, they essentially told me to go away because they didn’t have any. And they’re going to add an automatic to increase sales? Why? Were they sitting on a ton of unsold GR Corolla? Were sales down? Were sales numbers disappointing?

the only dealerships with unsold GR Corollas are the ones with outrageous markups. Otherwise, GRCs offered at MSRP are quickly purchased. It was a 3 month wait-list for me to buy my GRC at MSRP.
Having a tiny 3-cylinder engine making that much power with boost is the main reason I'm hesitant to get a GRC. It doesn't sound reliable and when I drove one, it was so noisy.

Ok… so is this a torque converted transmission? I wonder if it shifts faster than my ISF does hoping so I’m sure it does? You know a lot of people bash the I SF transmission but I’ve been happy with it when I put around town it shifts like a Toyota Avalon and when I want to be a dumb ass it will shift pretty darn close to like a ZF would.
Personal opinion since im gonna talk about design, n design is always subjective: The “squareness” of that GR corolla/yaris front grille clash horribly with the rest of the car. It doesnt work, in my eyes. The squareness of the grill just doesnt compliment the gentle curves, lines n bulges that u find throughout the yaris/corolla hatch. I mean, people complain that lexus has a large-ass grill, but they work, again, in my eyes - for the sedans n swoopy coupes anyways - coz theyre in line with the design language. Ofcourse, function over form i guess.
I think all cars should do what Koenigsegg did, be a manual H shifter but in the end a "D" to switch into automatic mode. This would save the etire industry instead of making two gearboxes for every car, they just have one. + the driver now have the choice.
I genuinely do not know how the circuit wing came into production. It genuinely makes the car's performance worse. 3rd party testing confirms that wing makes a ton of lift not downforce.

100% agree. That's what turned me off before. It looks slightly better now that it's a wider to match the rest of the car.

I think all cars should do what Koenigsegg did, be a manual H shifter but in the end a "D" to switch into automatic mode. This would save the etire industry instead of making two gearboxes for every car, they just have one. + the driver now have the choice.

It make sense to put a AT in the GRC. Coz people buying GRC wants more practical.
The GRC is a performance car, people who want practicality will save money and get the regular Corolla hatch in an automatic

I genuinely do not know how the circuit wing came into production. It genuinely makes the car's performance worse. 3rd party testing confirms that wing makes a ton of lift not downforce.
