The cars selection of this channel has been fantastic. Finally no BMWs! The cars that were in bad nick were quite cool/fun and interesting (like the Zafira), while the bad cars were at least in reasonable condition (like the Crossfire). I had a Clio in the same shade of 'please just end my life silver' as this Scenic, and it also had a 20-year-old tyre on. Turned out it was the original unused spare, and the previous owner left the bald used up tyre in the spare wheel well.
I mean Will did Edwin a Civic type r and a scenic 4x4, both cars he seems to like/love. I think we need the full story of Edwin buying the Rover Looking forward to the next episode.
Thanks for more laughs. Had a look around Pensacola area for a Pound-equivalent $650 car. Was not able to find one for $650. But right around $2600 you find a sweet spot of beat up old trucks that will not die. Still own a 2001 Pathfinder that is a rare 5-speed manual. If you're so worried about the Scenic's exhaust. Why not take it to Ritch and ask him to do a side pipe on it (assuming you lot are still welcome to his shop).
The k series is actually an excellent engine, the HGF problem was never an issue with the engine itself it was the poor quality head gaskets used. Every time they blew they’d go back to a main dealer to be replaced which gave the impression that they used to blow constantly once fitted with a much better quality gasket they’d last way longer, I’ve got a 2002 1.8 MGTF on nearly 90k miles it’s had one head gasket fitted 11 years ago and 55,000 miles ago. I’ve never heard of overheating issues before I remember when mine went for MOT on the hottest day of the year which is a recipe for disaster if your car overheats because of the emissions test, it handled it no problem.
Epiiccc. I had a Rover 25 as my first car. I did 70k in 3 years in it, 3 head gaskets and then I filled it with k-seal and it worked like a dream. It spent most of its life around the rev limiter. Despite not being the coolest car it was a great laugh.
The scenic brings back memories. My father had a rx4 same colour when he worked for Renault South Africa. I remember us getting a puncture in the Kruger national park and having to drive on the flat tyre for 30ish Km to the nearest camp unfortunately he only had it for 7 or 8 month when he hit a cow in the Drakensberg and wrote it of and it was replaced with a laguna ii V6
Another great video - this is easily my favourite automotive Chanel on TH-cam. I look forward to Mondays to watch these after work. Keep the content coming. 🍻🍻🍻
Wow I never thought I'd see my favourite car on this show! That rover I was looking at it on auto trader for ages gradually watching it drop in price😆.Once me, my dad and my brother went a couple of hours to see a streetwise in Blackburn because I was wanting one for my first car, the seller said it had full service history, 2 owners and in good condition when we went it was a complete dog so many different colours the interior was absolutely tarnished, 1 stamp in the book since 2003 and 7 previous owners I was so gutted because the seller and the pictures didn't paint the true story I am so happy to see one on your channel one day I am hoping to have one of my own :) I'd say look after yours but I have a feeling that is not the fate for this car unfortunately😂. Love the channel keep up the great work :)
I hate Mondays... With a passion. But I always look forward to the TDC video on Monday. I especially liked today's video! Especially Ben getting soaked. You will need to reshoot that when you get the gopros
Cheap sh*boxes are the best. You can thrash them, take them off road, go on road trips with your mates and all for a small price. Love your work guys, great content as always 👍
We had a scenic rx4.... it was legit not bad off road. IIRC it came with proper knobbly tries Tyres from the factory. A little agricultural but it was a genuinely fun car. We had a mk3 espace before that with the centre dash, huge glove box and column shift auto. Lush car. I totally forgot about the split tailgate and the lower half hinged on the left hand side. Amazing.
I love that "off roading" to them is just a driveway on our farm to me (Aussie). I use to drive a Mini-Moke and a Morris Minor 1100 on roads like that daily.
I am very jealous of Edwin's Scenic RX4! Well, maybe not just that one, but in general - as you say, that is a cool car. I'd take one of those over any SUV. As it happens, I know that a regular Scenic (second gen, in my case) is a formidable off roader too, even without ground clearence or 4x4. I took mine up a forest-trail in Spain more suited for Land Rovers or forestry machinery with no problems what so ever. Still regard that Scenic as the best car I ever owned - had it for 10 years and would still own it if not all wear and tear of extensive regular use had become a bit too obvious...
The back seats might have legroom, but the seats are so close to the floor I know from experience that they are not comfortable for long trips! But, under the rear mats, there are compartments that you can take the lid off and extend legroom into the floor ;)
Ok, I am old (43) and I have got an R25 which was given to me which I could not turn down. It’s been a great car, just chuck some liquid weld in the engine to keep the head gasket happy and you’ll have a bullet proof engine 😁👍🏻. They are an embarrassment to drive, but the more you drive it, the more you grow to like it. It’s a very strange relationship
Funny I remember the advert for the scenic when it was new. Being driven on the moon. The rover streetwise is actually quite cool too. Manufactures are making jacked up superminis recently
Just got back from an 8 hour (each way) trip to go off-roading on a badge of honor trail 3 states over in my jeep and get to come back to a video about off-roading. Couldn’t of been planned more perfectly
When edwin was saying the rover was the first crossover i was thinking na the scenic definitely beat the rover to the post. What then appears 😂 the damn Renault turns up.
Fantastic guys, great job on this one. Featuring what the manufacturer called the original urban on-roader 😂 Ben needs to get his own back at some point, like properly get Will not just driving his car away
I like Rovers but i am slightly old so it is mainly due to the older varieties with the V8's and so I guess I fit your stereotype. Even so that Streetwise did well. I do not like Renaults as a rule but I have to say I will make an exception for the Scenic 4X4. What a good fun video. !

I remember us getting a puncture in the Kruger national park and having to drive on the flat tyre for 30ish Km to the nearest camp unfortunately he only had it for 7 or 8 month when he hit a cow in the Drakensberg and wrote it of and it was replaced with a laguna ii V6
Panda 4x4 would have been epic
If they bought cars for themselves that would've happened. But they're buying shit cars for one another on purpose lol.
@@SatanDotExe the Scenic is a solid choice tho!
Good luck finding one for under 500 pounds mate
@@iaintdonknow yeah it's interesting, it's got to be shit but not too shit lol
Gone crazy money tho apparently
Will looking like a dog getting in trouble when Edwin spots those dodgy welds 😅
I hate Mondays... With a passion. But I always look forward to the TDC video on Monday. I especially liked today's video! Especially Ben getting soaked. You will need to reshoot that when you get the gopros
someone make the face edwin made at 12:51 a meme pls and thank you, actually make some merch of it.
HighBoi again proving his incredible taste in TH-cam channels
I had a scenic rx4 and i bloody loved it. It's got the most storage compartments in any car ever
Top dead center I love your content I have ADHD and struggle alot but your videos make my day and make me happy
220 turbo, ZS180, 218vvt all cool cars.......fight me
The back seats might have legroom, but the seats are so close to the floor I know from experience that they are not comfortable for long trips!
But, under the rear mats, there are compartments that you can take the lid off and extend legroom into the floor ;)
2:34 no no, fair play lads, 34°C is a nice warm day, good beach weather and Air-con is a desirable luxury 😉
Always a great evening when you lads upload. Absolute favourite channel to date!
You two could film literally anything and it would be funny/entertaining 😂❤
Old school top gear vibes from this one boys, I feel like we need 1 more member of TDC
These videos definitely give me old skool too gear vibes, love the channel
Ok, I am old (43) and I have got an R25 which was given to me which I could not turn down. It’s been a great car, just chuck some liquid weld in the engine to keep the head gasket happy and you’ll have a bullet proof engine 😁👍🏻. They are an embarrassment to drive, but the more you drive it, the more you grow to like it. It’s a very strange relationship
Love this channel!! By far the best thing in the Auto Alex universe!!
Well done Ben for taking the soaking humorously….. from what we saw anyway. What a guy
Love this channel and the epic adventures!
Keep the videos coming boys! Loving the content recently❤️
Loving the Scenic!!! Back in the day I used to want one to use for skiing
This channel is the highlight of my week
Keep the cheapo cars coming, these are most of the time better than unobtainable supercars!
When edwin was saying the rover was the first crossover i was thinking na the scenic definitely beat the rover to the post. What then appears 😂 the damn Renault turns up.
Best of the Auto Alex cinematic universe closely followed by All the gear
Fantastic guys, great job on this one.
Featuring what the manufacturer called the original urban on-roader 😂
Ben needs to get his own back at some point, like properly get Will not just driving his car away
i love these series its so entertaining
Really loving these challenges where you buy each other cars!
This is actually becoming my favourite channel cant lie
I like Rovers but i am slightly old so it is mainly due to the older varieties with the V8's and so I guess I fit your stereotype. Even so that Streetwise did well. I do not like Renaults as a rule but I have to say I will make an exception for the Scenic 4X4. What a good fun video. !
We need more of Ben! Get a new cameraman and stick him next to you guys. He can be like Caleb to Clarckson, a legend.
This channel and 'All the Gear'.. killin' it!!
This is quickly becoming my favorite car channel.
