I feel like this makes the story less compelling. Not to mention the rules are worded in such a way to imply that certain things may happen over the period of living there and yet everything on the list happens day 1? I'm bored.

As a night shift workers this seems easy I work 9pm-6am almost every week day and take trips almost every weekend. All I have to do is lock the door and put a tarp over the mirror.
Based on those rules you'd be solid! However I don't think the rules are the same for everyone as the main character got to make up his own rules for future tenants. So you get just get a time shifted set of bullshit.

Based on the ending, it sounds like employee's of the company come up with a set of rules to make the tenant's life hellish, and then Abbadon uses his demonic/angelic/abyssal connections to make the consequences of the rules a reality.

I'd like to imagine that they're stingy with the holy water, and keep them in spray bottles. Then it wouldn't be much and you could easily let it dry by the time you're done getting to wherever you want to go, unless there's one overprotective neighbor that decides they need to yeet the whole bottle at you to see if you're a demon.

So the narrator slept nearly 28 hrs at the guest apartment? Does that mean that he was able to sleep through the next night's rules with no consequences like he had temporary immunity, or was it some eerie supernatural slumber or trick that made time go by really fast for him?
Maybe stupid demon guy refrained from punishing him or even caused it himself. Like seriously how do you sleep for 28 hours straight otherwise? Or, more likely, the author was lazy and just wanted to skip it instead of typing it all out. You get the "Oh no, that's a long time with these horrible rules!" with none of the payoff. Probably related to the "It's 11 now when it was just 9:30 or so a second ago", but that doesn't make it any less lazy.

I thought the sleeping 28 hours straight and deeply was a cheap ploy even though I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the story. Nobody sleeps for 28 hours straight and deeply unless they're medicated or in a coma. And I thought the same thing about how he might have bypassed the rules during the time he was asleep.
Your voice is the perfect mix of tired calm and terrified when you read, it really makes it feel like a person who's been through some shit and has sorta gotten numb to it because of trauma
