Also, the paranormal people who, hired him, must’ve came to put him in the ambulance 🚑 after jumping off of the roof!...

The "no buttstuff" rule is more like a suggestion. They say no at first, but give it a couple months.
RULE #4- No matter how good it feels you must never moan, groan or for that act let out any sound or the next 200 seconds
My IKEA chair came with a strange set of rules that are too hard to follow

I've gotta say that I have grown to adore the "set of rules" stories although you can predict the premise of each. The person in question finds a set of rules that make no sense and then they break a rule, find out what happens and then try to follow them and yet manage to break every single one
Edit: and somehow they keep finding a new way to spin it and I end up falling in love with the trope all over again.
And everytime the company wants to hire them permanently after they survive

I like how he says he should follow his gut and adhere to the rules then as soon as he goes out for his first walk around he's like, "Naaaah, rules are for nerds!"
He was skeptical, most of the rules were vague with no explanation. He and I would've stayed in the room since the 15 minute walk looked optional and 'part of the job'. So really he was pretty reasonable with how he dealt with the rules, good story overall. Only negative is continuation.

I see a pattern, the protagonist is dense as hell.
SO, the endgame should have a clever witty protagonist that takes everything seriously but dies anyway and the dense protagonists get plot armour.

So: what must they guard, in these kind of supernatural cases, beside themselves? I think the security guys are hired to act as toys for the entities for the night, to distract them, in any location they are in. Don't see any other reason for hiring them.

I’m gonna be real honest, I really liked the rules creepy pastas for a while but the novelty is kind of starting to wear off on me. Still better than the run of the mill “spooky monster in the forest/abandoned building” stories.

I really love these rule stories, but also love how the main character always manages to break them. I’d be following rules like these on a mysterious job like my life depended on it, even if my gut told me it was a prank. My ocd already forces me to follow irrational personal rules for no reason, what’s a few more? Lol

Whenever I hear one of these stories with a cryptic list of rules I'd be out of there just on principle. They didn't mention any of this when applying and they definitely ain't paying me enough to deal with that crap, paranormal or not.
