Thanks for a good video. Unfortunately my problem was not inner nor outer tie rod. I can now, with the outer rod removed, move the axle inside the steering rack up and down =( Can you please explain how i support the engine on a Corolla E12 -04 to remove subframe? Haynes only describes to support from above when replacing the steering rack. All i got is a hand full of jack stands and a couple of Trolley jacks..

Don't count turns measure withe venier caliper cause tie rod brands are not same counting turns will only work when replacing with same brand name.

that is not a tie rod, thayt is a track rod end. The tie rod is the inner piece.

you are right Peter you replaced the Outer tie rod end and it threads onto the Inner tie rod end

I did mine on my 1998 Toyota Camry and bought my own inner tie rod removal tool. A piece of cake. Didn’t have to watch a video to do the job. And didn’t have ti take my car to any shop for a front wheel alignment.
