No it won't this genre is of its own. Classic rock is what it is "classic rock". Being a gen x er changed how we consciously repeated things and I am praying the millennials help the next generation to unconsciously not repeat things. Maybe we need a familiarity genre maybe we don't. How 'bout "Stoic" for a genre??
This song helped me work through my PTSD, and the origins of the trauma. Although the memories are still there, the song helped me to not let the thoughts control me, to release them. Specifically the line - "in my head, there's a greyhound station, I send my thoughts to far off destinations, so they may have a chance, of finding a place where they're far more suited than here" So, THANK YOU Death Cab For Cutie!!
Haha look at the age of the audience. I can't believe that's me now. Still feel so young, still feel like "the youthful boy below". This came out in the year I left home. I remember road tripping with my friends yelling the "ba da bas" out the window. What times.
OH MY GOSH I'M HIT RIGHT IN THE FEELS IN THE FIRST SECOND. They're so beautiful and moving I always feel like crying when I see them performing live like this.
I just cried! how old am I!? and when I hear it, I'm brought right back to when they first came out and the postal service. staples of my younger years😢😢😢😢
it’s so hard to pick a favourite song from DCFC but this is definitely one of my many favourites like hope to see you all in Toronto, Ontario Canada soon with your upcoming tour 🤞🏼🙏🏼
Music so good the crowd forgot to dance?…neck bob?…shoulder shake?… hip jiggle?… smile?… nothing. Ok the crowd does nothing but stares in shock at this amazing music style they have never heard before .
I love how there are 1000 phones filming. It's like you know this is being filmed by really professional cameras. You'll probably actually watch the youtube video again vs the stupid video on your phone. To paraphrase Louie CK "you're blocking your view of Death Cab for Cutie with a shitty resolution video of Death Cab for Cutie.....you're never going to watch a video of something you weren't present enough to experience when it was actually happening in front you"
There has been a time when people in the audience enjoyed the music and watched the band through their eyes and not though the screen of their phone. It's a terrible view that the bands gets no response from the crowd because all of them are lost into filming what they see.
Put your goddammit phones down! I saw tge Pretender's last tour and Chrissie Hynde stopped the show every time the phones came out. By song #3 everyone was focused on the band's performance.
I know, right? I grew up in LA listening to KROQ! I'd give anything to be younger and see Death Cab super close. That audience didn't deserve that concert!
I think a lot of people in the DCFC fan base react to their music in a different way than a lot of other bands. I've noticed this trend with their audiences so far. A lot of people seem to like to just be there and immerse themselves in the soundscape.
@@mysticnighthawk7605 More likely, they don't want to move too much or else they'll ruin their videos they're recording. I attended many concerts and (at age 52), I am jumping around so much that my videos are a total mess. I have fun, so that's all that matters. lol
This is going to soon become "Classic Rock" for us older millennials
lol
Sooner than you realize, kid. Enjoy that young blood as it flows through you now!

Why you have to do me dirty like that?!
People who are worried about being too old are already dead imo.
😢😇
This is not an understatement.. this is literally my all time favorite song.
@Adam Van Loom Also jimmy eat world - polaris and any song by Jesus Culture as I am now a born again Christian.
Same here. All time favorite
You madethis comment over four years ago, is it still your favorite song?
Really? Favorite? ALL time? Sad.
@@ismaelsm1Jesus, you’re a prick. Favoritism is subjective and entirely predicated on feelings and personal experience. Grow up.
Shout out to the KROQ engineer(s). You guys always kill it. I think they need a raise.
These dads are pretty good.
I just discovered this song whilst shopping for baked beans in a co op. Had to Shazam it and glad I did!
Never fails to transport me back to the mid 2000's
One of the greatest songwriters ever. So, so, so many amazing songs and lyrics to match.
"Plans" is their masterpiece.
Plans would've been any band's masterpiece.
Transatlanticism would like a word with you
I agree. That, and Codes and Keys

Such a groovy tune...always been one of my favorites and these guys are great.
Wow...just wow. This is incredibly difficult to achieve the proper tonal architecture in a live show. Bravo guys!

Such a brilliantly composed song 🎵 full to the brim of wondrous ethos ...
The first time I heard this song was in San Antonio. I stopped and was amazed. I can’t get enough of it.
This song helped me through my depression... I still love it so so deeply. It truly expresses me in song form. I love it. 💕💞

Good on you for working through it. Many blessings.

@@mikefleming4088 Yes, all is well. Thank so much for asking. All the best to you.
What a great song! Love this band! My daughters were amazed this old coot knew of them! Lol! Rock On!

This is a perfect song !!!!❤
This is THE perfect song. I still remember the first time I heard it, and it never fades.
The music video of this song fits perfectly and makes so much sense. It took a few years for it to make sense to me.
I love that they played this
One of their best beautifully performed
This and I Will Follow is in the upper echelon of most beautiful songs of all time, in my opinion

Ben Gibbard is in weezer now?
I tried playing this song without the capo and I had to sing it like the Chocolate Rain guy.
Me encanta esta canción ♥ ♥

🤘
When did Dr Drew join the band on rhythm guitar?
Depper was such a good pick
Awesome as always and yet; is missing Chris Walla just a little okay with everyone?
Louis CK on bass

Shut up
Let people live asshole
The bass player is 50 Louis CK and 50 Zach Galifianakis.
Dr. Drew is in dcfc now?
Do not care for whatever mic they're using for vocals. Pretty sure they used to use Shure and Neumann. These have some serious proximity effect.
♥♥
While I love the song, I did get a chuckle at 1:25 when they expected a big reaction from the crowd and they were all standing around like "meh"...
They are too busy recording this
Interesting. I feel like this is the only song where Jason uses a traditional grip instead of a matched one.
Where´s the old keyboard player and Ben´s glasses???
"Hey #VSauce, Michael here" ... on the drums 🥁
Didn’t know Tywin Lanaster has such a good voice tbf
Didn't know Edgar Ramirez was part of Death Cab for Cutie
I want to ...
Hey Vsauce, Michael here!
Didn't expect to see this comment here, but I'm glad I did

The crowd was lame. Id be freaking out

Who would’ve thought that Crispin Glover, Aaron Paul and David Cross would form a supergroup!
Is that David Cross playing drums?
Director audibly commands camera man to NOT pan on the crowd again.
Are they playing in a nursing home? That audience...
I know, right? I grew up in LA listening to KROQ! I'd give anything to be younger and see Death Cab super close. That audience didn't deserve that concert!

they are a easy listening band whoms audience are in there 30's and 40;s. what you expect, a moshpit?
