I did not expect this season to start off with such brilliant world building without a single fight, just character interactions, story layers and setting up Diablo as an absolute boss and just through his actions and the threat of terror he can lay upon them and the whole nation on a whim. I understand the true power of Primordial Demons… I get it now
That was the best thing i found in this anime before each arc starts the first 2 ep will always be spent on world building to explain how and why things are, some may say this is boring and slow progression but making a great story means you make no expense in taking time
One thing I really appreciated was how the focus shifted to Rozin as he pledged himself to Diablo, begging to serve him. While keeping in the back of his mind that the truly frightening aspect of recent events is there is someone this all powerful unbeatable badass of a demon calls Master

The world map is a bit confusing, where nations are relative to tempest and their alignment and why, it didn't help 2 OVA's were about demons messing with kingdoms to the west, think you could do a short video explaining the nations in the world where they are and their relationship/opinion of tempest and the other major events relative to all that?

Well im not sure that’s the reason.. there is an Empire in the tensura world as well! It could be true that he’s got Overlord corrupting his thoughts but in tensura there’s the western nations, the eastern empire, the nation of sauron in the southeast, the beast kingdom in the south/southeast(that’s now milim’s territory), dwargon in the north, and now the jura tempest federation in the middle! We haven’t heard much about the empire as of yet in the anime but it becomes more relevant since tempest is bordering every nation (hence why falmouth invaded in the first place to take over as a nation of trade). Also past the western nations (further west) is the holy country of milis and even further west damargania. As well as southest country (a separate island about the size of Australia) the golden city of dorado. And northern country (also its own land mass) is the ice continent. Hope this is informative!

Its actually depends on the demons lineage how they will act when they are out and about the world. Red's lineage tend to be show offs so they let people know with their aura that they are nearby. Noir's lineage tend to be unpredictable, they do what they want within their contract with the summoner, they usually dont get summoned too.. beretta is also noir's lineage, she wanted to serve both ramiris and rimuru and plotted to have ramiris stay in rimuru's country to do so. You can tell a lineages personality depending on their progenitor, aka their primordial demon, aka the color of their aura.
btw Shions skill is even a bit more terrifying than explained in this video: shion doesn't do simple law manipulation....it alters reality....for example Rimuru can control gravity through Uriel-> make things lighter or heavier effectively changing how much g (irl 9,81 m/s²) is effecting what object Shions skill changes what gravity does in the first place like change it from bending space time(according to einstein, if you go by newton its "just" a force) to interact with electrical charges...just something completely different...this explains why magic and "normal" skills can't simply reverse it there are 2 possibilities on how to reverse it: either you can alter reality your self and as long as nobody actively works against it (like Shion using the skill while you try to undo it) you can reverse it rather simple....question is just who has a skill like that....its not something just anyone powerful has 2: you remove Shions willpower that keeps the laws as twisted as they are...this method requires you to have more will power than Shion and it is a slow complicated process even for Diablo, as Diablo even as a Primordial doesn't have the skill to use the first method if you read until here congrats, you have fallen into the rabbit hole that is the Tensura power system, while closer to reality, meaning what you can do is far more relevant than numbers like your max mana

Tensura definitely need such LN explanation video because of the complexity of politics involved in story The world building in LN is really next level and the future side characters are also going to be awesome can't watch for more episodes
I totally agree. I picked up the LN after having exhausted the manga. And while reading the LN, I came to the conclusion that the worldbuilding and politics of it was incredible. At the same time, it made me sad because it would be literally "years before we see those get animated.

Honestly one of my favorite episodes throughout the entire series so far. It moved the story along soo far and soo well in such a short scene but without feeling rushed or lacking. Definitely keep making the videos for this series.

As one who has never picked up the manga..... This is magnificent I knew when I saw the episodes that Diablo was truly a spectacular asset. But this breakdown has me wanting to snatch up the manga.
If you’re planning on picking up reading mats, go with the LN instead. I don’t know how far s3 will cover but the anime is not that far from current chapters of the manga.
The anime is about to catch up with the manga and if my memory serves me right, this is going to be another 24 episode season so it's gonna go beyond where the manga is at now.
Rimuru was trying to get Diablo to be busy and stay away from him. He taught it would take several years to take over the country. Diablo did it in a month.

This show impressed me. I had heard of it a few times but never really gave it much thought. I was looking for something new to watch and heard it had a new season dropping so I figured I'd check it out. The world building goes a lot further then I expected it to. And it has a light hearted sort of feel that almost makes it a slice of life anime till the fighting starts. While things tend to work out, the writer had no problem letting some characters die and stay that way. It's a good show with quite a bit going on.
It's hard to imagine somebody as kind, gentle, caring, and as loving as Shione. Being someone who would fit into Demiurges side of the great tomb of Nazarek, even though it is crossing from that time, I got reincarnated as a slime into overlord. However, after you think about it for a bit, she would fit in perfectly.
If Shion's skill makes anything she cooks delicious, I wonder if the king thought his limbs tasted good, and whether that would be another layer to the torture. Like, imagine being fed parts of your own body, and those parts are the tastiest thing you've ever eaten.
0:54 - I can't help but feel like that line about how Raid is better than its negative stigma was baked into the script they emailed you 🤣 Their writers are getting better

I can imagine once Rimuru has invented TV for the masses, evenly someone would make a histostical reenactment of the battle between the two countries and the revival of Veldora and likely the masses would lap it up without knowing the actual truth, only when someone probes deeper into trying find out where this great battle took place and finds nothing, they'll start to wonder "Did this battle actually take place?"
You forgot the most important part. He expedited all of this stuff and plans because he wanted to bask in the greatness of Rimuru in person. Not spend a decade carefully toppling and capturing another country.
Shion altered his body, so basically Razen being meat slab was considered normal by the laws so there was nothing to heal because that form was considered well normal.
I flippin KNEW it had to be Master Chef ability. I paused the video at 2:40 so idk if you say this later but the way the condition that the kind and others were left in looked so eerily close to she cooking incarnations/fiascos
That look was actually anime censorship, albeit a very creative and in-theme one. Manga and LN are a lot more explicit in showing/describing the malformed boxes of flesh, like bones sticking out of the mass in some places.

And as I said, I think the way they censored it by making it look similar to Shion's food was quite clever. It tells you how Shion did it without explicitly saying it. Instead of accurately reading tempest federation's military strength they arrogantly thought that they were weak and invaded because they were making money off there trade. Now there king got tortured by a literal demon, damn tensura is metal.

I can imagine once Rimuru has invented TV for the masses, evenly someone would make a histostical reenactment of the battle between the two countries and the revival of Veldora and likely the masses would lap it up without knowing the actual truth, only when someone probes deeper into trying find out where this great battle took place and finds nothing, they'll start to wonder "Did this battle actually take place?"

The chuck of flesh IS his normal, *healthy* state
Shion altered his body, so basically Razen being meat slab was considered normal by the laws so there was nothing to heal because that form was considered well normal.

That look was actually anime censorship, albeit a very creative and in-theme one. Manga and LN are a lot more explicit in showing/describing the malformed boxes of flesh, like bones sticking out of the mass in some places.

@@killtyrant I mean, in this case, nothing was lost and in my opinion it actually added someting. You still know they were horrifically disfigured. And as I said, I think the way they censored it by making it look similar to Shion's food was quite clever. It tells you how Shion did it without explicitly saying it. I think it's a great piece of the "show, don't tell" philosophy. In the LN it's just stated by the narrator, but in the anime it would've had to be said by someone.
