This movie is canon to the main timeline, and the main reason why cell max never reached 100% is becauss akira toriyama wanted Cell final form to be semi perfect cell but his editors wanted another one so that's why there is perfect cell. This was his way or going back to what he wanted
100%. I think perfect Cell was really cool, but it sucks Toriyama had to create him against his will basically.
@@burnbearscomedy The Android Saga is basically his editor's doing, Toriyama didn't even concept 17 and 18, he only did Gero and that was meant to be the main villain for the arc but his editor hated Gero and 19's designs and thought they weren't appealing enough and so he suggested the Androids 17 and 18 instead, then they bait and switched the androids for the duo and 16, but then later on complained that they were all just "punk kids" and not threatening enough for big bads. So Toriyama introduced Cell and had him eat the Androids. If you want to see unfettered Toriyama work just look at the Buu Saga which he did without any oversight (and as far as we know he was not pushed to do so by anyone after the neat wrap-up of the Android Saga, he just wanted to) and it's not considered the best.
I'm not doubting a Gero-focused arc could ahve been heat, he would have found a way to make Gero and 19 threatening, but what we got is considered the greatest arc in Z and the whole thing was just Toriyama and his editor making sweeping changes on the go. It's just the creative process, Toriyama is amazing but he had his faults, basically liked doing whatever he wanted and didn't like worrying about pre-existing canon and was prone to forget things. It's good he had people to help balance out his work. RIP the GOAT.

@@F4Jd Buu saga was definitely all over the place. They started with Gohan as protagonist. He goes to High School, slice of life stuff (which I love), Has to hide his powers, fights small time crooks as a super hero, got 2 hero identities as the Great Saiyaman and the Golden Fighter. Videl was sus of him. Ended with her finding his secret, then they ended up getting together. Goku comes back cause of martial arts tournament. Videl gets the SHIT beat out of her for no reason, so graphic. Gohan shows his power then gets his ki stolen. Vegita fights Goku cause why not. Gohan looses to Buu, Gohan was saved by supreme kai, trained him in their planet to fight buu again, BUT DIES then Goku has to be protagonist again after building up Gohan so much. Vegita explodes somewhere along the way, Goten and Trunks fused for the first time. Buu literally eats everyone. LIKE LMAO!
@MrMeddyman I think Frieza saga was definitely better. You can tell Toriyama had a well thought out outline all the way from saiyan saga till the end of frieza. No interference on that one.

This movie's great. Love how they're making them canon now. And also love how Gohan and piccolo are now back on track to be relevant to goku, vegeta, and now broly
People always call Piccolo Gohan's real dad but in fact there's only a 4-year difference in age so it's more like their brothers.
No, Namekians and especially Piccolo didn't age the same as Saiyans or humans.
It's also overblown how much time Piccolo spent with Gohan vs how much Goku spent with Gohan. Goku actually has 2-3x more time with Gohan, yet people tend to overlook that.

Most of the DB games were canon stories from the actual anime . Its only now with DB Xenoverse and Ultimate Tenkaichi and stuff . DBZ Kakarot is a canon game showing parts that werent in the anime but are canon to the story . Akira confirmed that about DBZ Kakarot .
This movie and new broly are canon none of the z movies are though as far as i know
6:04 The Capsule corp actually had their ships inspired by King Piccolo and Gokus Capsule. Without them they wouldnt have gotten to Namek in the first place
this movie was canon, the one before it dbs broly was canon, and the games are canon to an extent like yea all the arcs like the androids, frieza, cell, and buu are real but there are some off to the side characters that don’t actually exist and are only meant to be game exclusives but for the most part if you’re playing from the first time vegeta comes to the end of buu you know a decent amount of dragon ball
Ok, so this is gonna sound weird, but like, I KNOW you guys, from sometime in my life, I can't place it lol. I just did a search for DB Super Hero reactions and your channel came up and as soon as I opened this video I was like, ay yo wtf lol

Idc what anyone says piccolo is his damn daddy. Made me cry man tears when he yelled special beam canon
also a couple things to note:
1. the red line transformation scene is the same exact thing that happened when he first fought cell after he killed android 16, also you can hear teen gohan’s scream from that transformation behind his own if you listen closely
2. cell max was meant to beat goku & vegeta so people speculate that since gohan beat cell max that he’s stronger than the both of them now
3. this is the FIRST time vegeta officially beat goku confirming that he’s officially stronger if even only by a little (but some people think that since goku smirked he was saying he wasn’t trying 100% but i like to think vegeta’s stronger)
Vegeta isn't stronger. They're equal. Vegeta was literally in a predicament where he was lucky enough to land that final hit before goku did. Just like roshi did, it was a matter of luck

Eh, Vegeta beat Goku pretty damn clean in their first fight. Goku straight up admitted he was done after the beam clash, which failed to even significantly hurt Vegeta. He spent the second half of that fight a paraplegic after Vegeta then straight up broke his spine.
His "ultimate" form is mainly known as Potential Unleashed and just lets him access all of his Super Saiyan strength in what's essentially just his base form, without any of the drawbacks of Super Saiyan, and it's also his precursor to Beast
People mostly hate on Beast not because of the form itself, but because of how much of a fan-servicey ass-pull of a power-up it was, because its appearance basically mirrors when he first went SSJ2 against Perfect Cell, and Gohan basically went from weaker than he was in the Tournament of Power to basically being on par with Goku with extremely little training; he doesn't put as much work in but gets crazy results.

recently in the manga its confirmed to be ultimate form and thats the problem with dragon ball fans they dont watch the show or read he still trained after rof saga and in tournament of power he was at kefla lssj2 power he didnt stop training but didnt train as much as goku and vegeta with whis and dont need to because his potential he used his rage for once and controlled it and got his dream of getting a form that no one seen before and people for years been wanting gohan blanco and still complaining for no reason when everything make sense legit when he was 4 with no training he became stronger than goku and piccolo combine and damage raditz its all in people faces

Dbz is my favorite anime of all time!! My mom introduced me and my brother watching DBZ first anime when we were little kids on air. Vegeta is my favorite character 😎🦾

Im a little late for this. But, I didn't start watching DBZ until after getting out of the Army in 2009. Im 35. I've become an addict to it. Got SsJBlue Goke and Majin Vegeta tattooed on my left leg. This show helped me in my MMA career up until 2010 when i got shot in the leg.

So it was raining, its a flair thing each time gohan goes into his ultimate/mystic form he parts the clouds/weather
if you go back to when Gohan turned beast you can hear his teen scream from DBZ. also during his fight when he screams after he kicks cell you can hear it, a very nice touch. - RIP to the GOAT Akira Toriyama hope the ones that take over his work don't make a mess of things.

It doesn’t make him any stronger but it does put a lot more mass behind all of that power.
Always wondered if they made piccolo hold smaller things like that because he's out of touch with tech and is scared of breaking them since he's strong
:) Also Toriyama has a succesor, Toyotaro is the man who has been drawing the Dragon Ball Super manga since 2015. And he has been doing that under Toriyama`s plotlines for Super. Toriyama has also made art corrections for the Super manga.
Toyotaro really was his understudy.
So hopefully Toyotaro can now be the main man writing plots now.
That would be incredible. I'm sure Toriyama will live on through his Students for hundreds of years.

Considering the legend of the Super Saiyan existed long before Goku, Vegeta, and Broly were even born Broly can't be the LSS - that's just a plot-hole Toei created when they made the first DBZ Broly movie.
As for canon, the only movies that are canon to the main series are the "History of Trunks" special, "Battle of Gods", "Resurrection F", "DBS: Broly", and "DBS: Super Hero". Naturally all being on the same timeline as Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super.

For GT I personally believe it wouldn’t have been hated as much if they ended it at the Baby Saga and make the other sagas into specials or movies but that’s just my opinion

Ultimate is beyond SSJ3 I believe but even stronger in this movie apparently.
I don't see why you would start a non-dragonball fan with this movie there are plot elements no one would understand at all without watching the series which takes a massive amount away from the movie.
The talk of what was or wasn't canon was very funny after the non-canon (dbza created) mention that Gohan doesn't like fighting.
Especially when mentioned after Beast how Gohan likes to "dick around" after a power up. If anything, Gohan gets a little too addicted to the fighting.

It's funny, but this movie and broly are both very canon
gohan as a kid didnt like fighting till he got older but he didnt care anymore because he want to keep up with his dreams then he had a family so trained time for time just to protect them just in case like you see in this movie

Toriyama is literally on record stating he didnt want to draw tails anymore due to him getting tired of it and also not really understanding how they would work on clothing Goku would wear so he kept finding ways to get rid of them. He has never once stated he forgot about them. That was just something some rando spouted on the internet like with a bunch of other things the western community believes in, people believed it.

We may go back in time and react to the original Dragon Ball. I've only read the first 3 original Manga's. Barely watched the anime. I came in at DBZ like most people in their 30's lol
I'm not a huge fan of Gohan's "Beast Mode" as it ruins the entire idea behind his ultimate power-up, which was him being able to reach his full potential without having to ever transform - not to mention its similarity to Ultra Instinct (the crappy full version). It made him unique from Goku and Vegeta. "Beast Mode" would have instead been a great name for Broly's new form, if they so ever decided to repurpose the concept of the Super Saiyan 4 form - then Goku would have Ultra Instinct, Vegeta would have Utra Ego, Piccolo would have his Orange form, Gohan would have his Ultimate form, and Broly would have Beast Mode, giving them variety.
All the movies after battle of the gods are canon. Especially the broly movie and this one.

the reason a lot of people had a negative opinion about Beast Gohan was the lack of explanation behind the logic of the transformation itself.
Right now the most accepted theory is that ot is an evolution of his Potential Unleashed or "Ultimate" mode, which is the "transformation" he got on the buu saga that doesnt really change his appearance, the theory is that "Beast" is achieved by Gohan´s inner beast, (which was always present since the start of Z, and always gave him a tremendous buff in power depending on how angry he got, making him go berserk), the same "Anger" that made him go SSJ2 in the cell saga, breaking his limiter at that time and evolving SSJ, did the same to "Potential Unleashed" here and just got somewhat of a "Potential Unleashed 2", even though its more connected to his berserk boost he always had. But, this is just a theory, as the information about Beast is very little and Toriyama never really gave a detailed explanation behind it, mostly because he just seemed tired of explaining transformation logic these last years.

All dbz movies is part of GT timeline its a whole multiversal dimensional anime all super movies is part of the manga timeline like the super anime not even canon either it doesnt go off based the manga since it came first but the broly movie and super hero movie is in the manga but everything is a timeline thing because of trunks twice theres 9 timelines all the games are canon
The main reason people don't like the form is it really lacks originality. They basically just pallet swapped his SSJ2 child form
But then there are so many hairstyles to choose from.
