How can anyone call themselves Mustang enthusiasts when you're constantly bashing the V6 models every chance you get? Besides not all of us have the luxury of buying any car we want. Unlike many of you mommy and daddy didn't pay for my car. I worked hard to buy my 2001 V6 as my first car at 19 years old and I love it. Its everything I need to take on the world. +Miguel Rodriguez my uncles 98 is supercharger and is pushing 427 on a standard tune. Corvette are overrated. My 2000 has a built moter and a stage 2 exhaust and a pose led tranny xD
What's wrong with a V6 with the reliability of a Honda? not everybody can afford a GT let alone the insurance that comes along with it. Some people wanted to save money and at the end of the day it's still a mustang.
I enjoy Chris's reviews. He places his personal spin on a vehicle while concisely pointing out the cars features, options, etc. No one forces anyone to watch them if you don't.
Lol v6 hater my v6 beats about every v8 out there. If you are a v8 fan and hate the v6 sorry to say you know nothing about cars my 4 cylinder kicks v8 ass us v6 buyers build power we don't buy the power.
This guy in the video clearly knows absolutely nothing about the Essex V6 that Ford put in the SN95s. They're actually pretty strong engines, they're just de-tuned AF to meet emissions requirements. Bone stock, they make 190 hp, but with just a different cam and a port & polish on the heads/intake, they can pick up a whopping 80 hp, bringing them up to 270 hp --- 10 more than the GT models make stock. This has been dyno proven by supersixmotorsports, who specializes in performance V6 Mustangs. A fully built 3.8 that's been bored/stroked to a 4.3 has been dynoed at 320 hp naturally aspirated on pump gas. People can talk shit all they like about it, but I guess it's easy to talk shit when the lion is in a cage, huh?
@@sixstanger00 its been proven over and over. People that think they're into cars and make stupid comments actually know nothing about the mods out there.
I dont understand why the v6 models for this gen mustang get so much hate i love it! I dont care if its an auto or manual id probably have to get an auto because i have a bad back and a bad hip since im handicapped so anyways as long its a mustang id take it
Had a 03 V6 for 5-6 years. It was my everyday ride. I liked it. Wasn't fast like the 8s. Had to get rid of it one day just due to I needed something with better fuel mileage. 6s did okay but still wasn't great on gas. Today I have an 04 GT that I got for a weekend car, as well as a small project car. I like it better than my old V6. Not hating on the V6, but man am I glad I didn't buy the GT back then for an everyday car. Fuel mileage sucks on the 8s
I had a red 2002 v6 mustang but a drunk driver totaled it so now I have a 2007 mustang GT and well there is nothing wrong with v6. PS that mustang had the service engine soon light on!
I was lucky enough to get a V6 from a guy who had installed an exhaust system from a mustang GT. believe me, it makes the car sound way better. the duel pipe setup looks nice too.
I have a mustang just like this and love it. Very reliable, enjoyable to drive, and cool looking. Not a ton of power but it has enough to have fun. The v8 on this model wasn't much more powerful maybe 50 hp.
0:43 The 94-98 Mustangs and the 99-04s are the same generation. Both are built on the SN95 chassis. Apart from beefier engines, the only thing setting them apart is the exterior.
Why are u bashing the v6 I worked very hard for my 2000 v6 and it has 286,000 miles and it's still running like a champ I did a full rebuild on the Trans and motor and I love it
Only thing that made it worse than it being a V6 is that it being an automatic. I have a V6 stang for 5 years so I know. I have a project 04 GT now. Hate to say it, but its just a weekend ride/project car... since the damn things gets as much MPG as todays Shelby GT500s. No lie
Actually, if you do the comparison off the Fueleconomy.gov page, it's one of the best fuel economy V6's of almost the last 20 years (or more, but didn't look into it that much)
Have a 01 V6 that color now. its modded up great and looks and sounds nothing like that stock one. its very sweet. Can see and hear it on my YT channel.
I don't know if you notice but gas is 4$ a gallon. Who the fuck want's a V8. ? Also there's cops everywhere now a days. Dose not make any cents having a V8.
Fuel Economy difference isn't much at all with the V6 being 1-2 MPG better on average. You lose out on refinement, a massive performance bump, & the fun. With that said, it's not wort the downgrade IMO. Not the case anymore with the 2011+ V6 which has proven to do 31mpg (6-7 better than this 2000's 3.8L V6 + deliver over 300 HP)
This is like a dream car to me next to a Mercedes Benz SL but I'm majorly trying to get the V8 model for my birthday next month don't get me wrong I love V8 and V6 but the V8 is in my area so.. Totally trying to get it :D

Just picked up for my son a 02 with the 3.8 v6. Has 190hp And my buddy’s 1997 gt 4.6 only has 215hp so there is nothing wrong with a v6. Should be a little cheaper on insurance for my son to.
Can anyone tell me the firing order for 2000 V6? I got a new coil pack and I must’ve switched 2 plugs by accident and it’s been misfiring. Help much appreciated
This car was at auction. The check engine light most cars usually light up when there's an emissions, ignition, or vacuum problem. While that seems a bit too simple, there's many parts that relate to each of those 3 things. My first advice would be to go to autozone & have them give you a free diagnostics which is done via a scanner tool that you can buy yourself. With that scanner, you or they will see trouble codes along with a brief description of what's wrong. Then you just work from there. Sometimes your jerked around because one part or sensor that's faulty may cause another act up. So my suggestion is to start with the easiest ones first.
actually has a different rear bumper, and different hood. i actually like this body style more then any other mustang. so your saying that the 03/04 cobras are gay cause they the same body style? sit down kid, what you drive? a v6 mustang? or a pos 4 banger honda?
Can anybody tell me on the 2000 Ford mustang 3.8 if there was problems with the fuel pump fuel pump been changed twice and still not getting gas from fuel tank to fuel injectors won't start
There is 1 thing you can try. There is a reset button on the rear left hand side just by the tail light (resets fuel pump and may work), and also dont drive with the fuel too low otherwise it may runnout and cause the fuel pump to suck in air and burn itself out. Also check the fuel pump fuse. Sometimes small things like that solve the problems.
Not weird at all. I'm on my fourth Mustang. Current one is a 2002 V6 which had 97,000 miles on it when I bought it in November. The reason I bought it in November is that my previous one, a '99 with over 238,000 miles on it, got totaled when an uninsured driver "t-boned" it. It was daily-driver and long road trip and autocross course thrashing reliable to the bitter end. I had a '92 LX 5.0 that I bought as a dealer demo back in '92 and also had a '66 fastback GT. I don't miss those two. At all. The V6 engine this kid maligns in this video is arguably the most technologically sophisticated pushrod engine Ford made until their recent return to pushrods in the new 7.3L truck engine. Ford spent tens of millions of dollars developing the split-port aluminum cylinder heads on this engine and they achieve the goal Ford had of increasing horsepower while preserving a flat torque curve and a 2,800 rpm torque peak of 225 ft/lbs. My '99 was making 215 hp and 240 ft/lbs and it didn't take a bunch of time, effort, or money to make that happen. Since I'm not and never have been interested in drag racing, that level of power is sufficient and with the flat torque curve, it plays surprisingly nice with a four-speed automatic transmission. One thing the kid in this video doesn't mention is that the V6 New Edge Mustangs start off with a serious handling advantage vs. the V8 powered cars of the same era. It's not just that they're lighter, which they are, but also that the center of drivetrain mass is located closer to the road and the center of the car on the V6 New Edge than the V8's. That makes a huge difference in these cars because they have grossly mis-matched theroretical front and rear roll centers. That front - rear roll center mismatch is why they "overwork" front tires and why they can transition rapidly from understeer to oversteer and back again, all in the same turn, when driven at the limit of adhesion. Having the overall more portly and more top-heavy modular V8 under the hook only makes that problem bigger, not smaller, as does having more unsprung weight with the V8's 8.8" rear axle vs. the lighter 7.5" rear axle in the V6 cars. The V6 drivetrain masks a lot of the issues arising from mis-matched roll centers which are a byproduct of the "quadra link" rear suspension design. It's a whole lot cheaper to get a V6 New Edge to handle like a real "sport car" than it is to make a V8 one do likewise. To kind of put this in perspective, in autocrossing with my '99, I could podium finish with my "lowly" and "gutless" V6 New Edge against drivers of more powerful and more sophisticated cars. In my last event, I got second overall, with a mere tenth of a second separating my fastest time through the course from the guy with a 450+ horsepower Corvette who got the top overall time of the day. Horsepower isn't the be-all and end all of sports car performance. I used to have a Porsche 924S. That is the 944 drivetrain in the lighter 924 body shell. Mine was a "Euro-spec" model, putting out a measly 167 horsepower at the crank. I ran the same road racing course lap times in that thing that I ran in my V8 Mustangs on D.O.T. street tires. The fastest time I ever did around my home track was in my "gutless" little 215 hp V6 New Edge. It's faster than my Porsche was. I can go in to corners just as fast, I have more lateral grip because I can run 275 section tires that even a 944 can't take, and I can come out of the apex a hell of a lot harder, thanks to having about 100 foot pounds more torque to push the car out of the turns. With a 3.42 gear in the ass end, it had the same 140 mph top speed my 5.0 LX and my Porsche had, but it gets to 140 a lot quicker. It isn't as easy to drive at the limit as the Porsche was. Few cars, even today, are as easy to drive at the limit as a Porsche 924S/944/968 are. But the limits are a lot higher in my weenie little V6 Mustang. If I was a drag racer, I'd have a V8 under my Mustang's hood, but it wouldn't be a two-valve Modular 4.6. It'd be a Coyote 6.0 and supercharged on top of that. But I'm not a drag racer, so I don't need more power that the stock chassis and rear suspension architecture can put down on the ground in a world where cars have to go through left and right hand turns as well as straights. Before I got my '99, I used to think that it would be cool to combine what I liked about my Porsche 924S and the LX 5.0 in to one car. A V6 New Edge has the potential as a basis to build on and tweak to be that car. So it's my dream car, too, and if it wasn't, I'd drive something else that was. I'm not driving like an idiot on public roads, and it's more than enough power to kill myself with on a road racing track.
I've always like this generation of the GT. the 05-09 mustang was just cheap looking. Can't find these stock, people always put mods on. I remember somewhere that you can supercharge the 4.6 is that true?
I like your honesty towards the car LOL. Btw I agree the engine is very noisey but if you install a underdrive pulley the power steering whine (its normal on this car) goes away completely and the rest of the engine seems to hush up as well, i would know i own one =)
I never liked the power seat cushion/manual backrest combo... my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee has that and I hate that feature. But at least if the power seat motor were to go bad (hopefully it won't) then I'll still be able to have backrest adjustment.
LOL it sounds like it has one of those exhaust systems from Autozone while the revs are up, but when you let off it at least has a decent low grumble/ burble.
It's an old car so I could be many things. When the check engine light is on in most cars, it usually means that there's some form of deficiency with anything related to the vehicles the missions or ignition. That could be an air filter, spark plug, ignition coil, oxygen sensor, a vacuum leak, things like that.
@@Intechdude300 Any of those things could be why it was running like shit, too, causing the comment about "rough running" and also the comment about "4,000 rpm redline." My '99 would pull smooth as silk to 5,500 on the stock cam, pushrods, rockers, and valve springs. No "check engine" lights, though. It would pull to 6,250 on a replacement cam (stock Ford part number from a different version of the Canadian Essex), aftermarket pushrods and rockers, IF I set the ECU's rev limiter to let it do so. When they're running right, as in having no check engine lights which indicate they aren't, the Essex is a smooth-running engine in spite of being a 90-degree V6.
Looks like a tough crowd in the comments section. Jeez! I though it was a good review myself. When you were revving the engine, it kinda sounded like a cat in heat or something like that, lol.
Maybe you're friend beat on it. I know plenty of people who have no complaints about a 2000 Mustang. I know some people that have over 100,000 and no transmission problems.
I dont see nothing wrong with any year Ford mustang v6 you can put the same power in a v6 and beat a v8 one and people want that v8 mustang but when you get one used you gonna have problems with it because people gone to run that engine down to the ground like the v6 that's y u see more v6 then v8s that year at car lots
I agree that everyone has our own opinion, which we have a right to express, but this guy is so vocal and proud, makes me feel sick how he's speaking about the car, almost as if his mommy and daddy just bought him a v8 coyote and he's like "mehh this just a year 2000 v6, only peasants drive v6's" cmon dude, show some respect to the car and people driving this model.
Ugh god my uncle had one of these, not only did he learn our Honda odyssey could beat it to 60, but he also needed to replace the transmission in the stang twice and the thing was loaded with electrical problems. Unless its a V8, these weren't that good... At all
Well your uncle does not know how to properly maintain vehicles, they all need to be service regularly as with any other machine! my 2000 V6 has 275k miles and the engine and transmission runs like new!! Change oil ever 5 k synthetic, and tranny fluid very 60-75k...and voila!

I'm not driving like an idiot on public roads, and it's more than enough power to kill myself with on a road racing track.
is the popping/rumbling sound from the exhaust, after he revs it, normal?
Yes
***** thanks for the quick reply - mine does this and I was worried. Thanks again!
I've always like this generation of the GT. the 05-09 mustang was just cheap looking. Can't find these stock, people always put mods on. I remember somewhere that you can supercharge the 4.6 is that true?
Just don't ask much for power or speed... it still has a limiter, an auto transmission and a single exhaust... and a very restrictive intake...
Nice. I own a '01 v6 3.8 my self.
what me to link you a vid of me doing a 12 second pass in the 1/4? on nitrous, 12 seconds flat.
I like your honesty towards the car LOL. Btw I agree the engine is very noisey but if you install a underdrive pulley the power steering whine (its normal on this car) goes away completely and the rest of the engine seems to hush up as well, i would know i own one =)
That trunk button is the same as the one that was in my grandmother's old '93 Lincoln Continental.
I saved for my 2000v6 at 15 know I'm saving for a 02 maybe 01 I love them
my parents are helping me pay half and already half done with the money i need and im only 16
Calabi-Yau Manifold cool theyre good cars i own a 2009 gt now but yeah have fun
dustin the mma guy That's quite a fast transaction, did someone helped finance?
Calabi-Yau Manifold no I already had 7k just didint wanna spend it but I did anyway and have a 09now I don't finance.
Mustang is eminem's car,but eminem's mustang is 1999 model
Is his check engine light on???
Yes, it on the whole time the kid in the video is bitching about the engine not reving past 4K and not being very smooth-running.
What a great car!
Which one is da loud one without da stick shift ??
gt, cobra, terminator, any version with a v8
even v6 with headers and exhaust can get quite loud
how much is the fuel consumbtion?
I never liked the power seat cushion/manual backrest combo... my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee has that and I hate that feature. But at least if the power seat motor were to go bad (hopefully it won't) then I'll still be able to have backrest adjustment.
I have 2001 ford muststang 3.8 i have souped up a bit u have to hang on to it
LOL it sounds like it has one of those exhaust systems from Autozone while the revs are up, but when you let off it at least has a decent low grumble/ burble.
You can disable the seatbelt charm by unplugging the wire underneath the seat . It's soo annoying.
how come the check engine light is on?
Anyone knows if this is 100% stock?
I agree that everyone has our own opinion, which we have a right to express, but this guy is so vocal and proud, makes me feel sick how he's speaking about the car, almost as if his mommy and daddy just bought him a v8 coyote and he's like "mehh this just a year 2000 v6, only peasants drive v6's" cmon dude, show some respect to the car and people driving this model.
I grew up with the Mustang
my aunt had one of the 1999 Mustang
Whered u get the black leather seats
Still better than a comaro
your user name has puns of funnies
Them pops and crackles tho
This guy is awesome
these comments are too funny they made it on the group wall you should feel special now
Aww, no stick shift. Great tour btw.
My v6 is manual and has duel exhaust and no check engine lights on xD
+Brandon Green its a v6, its not cool
+marman36 awe :(
I love my v6 don't hate
and all these years I thought the LX stopped in 1993
Why do you keep using a fading effect to go to each video with each video having you only said one sentence each?
I had a mustang 94 gt and I traded for this one with 22 rims
Ugh god my uncle had one of these, not only did he learn our Honda odyssey could beat it to 60, but he also needed to replace the transmission in the stang twice and the thing was loaded with electrical problems. Unless its a V8, these weren't that good... At all
Well your uncle does not know how to properly maintain vehicles, they all need to be service regularly as with any other machine! my 2000 V6 has 275k miles and the engine and transmission runs like new!! Change oil ever 5 k synthetic, and tranny fluid very 60-75k...and voila!
i love watching your videos :)
My girlfriend used to want one of these....yeah I cut that shit pretty fast.
