    I have that same car, except mine is Zinc Yellow. It is an '03 base model with cloth seats and the stock stereo (they really messed that one up big time with that touch screen POS) It has the stock full length antenna. It is an automatic, with the rear spoiler. Same wheels, mine are not messed up. It came with the black MUSTANG decal on the rear bumper cover, which I removed. Seemed out of place on a V6. It does not have the front strut brace or camber adjusters, and the engine is not all corroded like that one. It currently has 105,000 miles. I have owned it for 5 years with no real problems. The power window switches have failed a few times. I bought half a dozen of them, and carry them in the glovebox. While it has been reliable, it is the least comfortable car I have ever owned. It is in better overall cosmetic condition than that one. Garaged AZ car. I paid $4200 for it in 2019, with 89,000 miles on it.

    I’m looking at a 03 mustang convertible with a v6 at 134,770 miles in excellent condition. They’re asking for $4800. Haven’t seen it in person but they said it was taken care of really well and from the pictures it definitely seems like it. Interior and exterior both look perfect like it’s brand new. Was wondering what you think? From checking Kelly blue book it seems like a pretty good deal especially seeing how well it’s been taken care of. Also are they relatively easy to maintenance?
    Gonna be my first car too so if you have any advice regarding whether it’s a good first car I’d appreciate it! Thanks man!

      I’m not a car expert. All I can say is I’ve owned 3 of these cars and they’ve been fantastic and reliable. Just beware the water pump and make sure the service records clean.

  • @mazumazu3935

    Hi, currently looking at getting this car for around 6k. Has 96000 miles on it and was a one owner. Do you think that's a good deal? Also did you have to install a USB connection for it?

    • @chrishammillaudio
      @chrishammillaudio  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Absolutely not. These cars in great condition are worth $4000 tops with that high mileage. What's the carfax history of the car? How's the title? How fast and aggressive did the owner drive it? Did it live outside during winter? All questions you need to ask before you even look under the hood.
      I sold this car with 125K miles on it for $5000, and I kept it clean and well taken care of.
      These cars come stock with a cd player at best. You need to install a radio with a USB dongle on it to get any sort of modern tech out of it.

    • @mazumazu3935
      @mazumazu3935 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@chrishammillaudio Thanks for the quick reply, yeah 6000 felt steep.
      The title and everything is clean. The car has brand new paint, clutch replaced just two months ago along with new wheels. It also has the aftermarket head unit with the USB, which I just found out. Even then it still feels pretty steep for such an old car.
      Do you think I should try and talk it down to 4k or so then? I checked the Kelly blue book value as well and that aligns with it.

    • @chrishammillaudio
      @chrishammillaudio  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      New clutch saves you $1,500 at least in cost to pay for parts and labor, so that’s good.
      New paint and wheels is nice, but how good condition is the engine and trans? Again all questions you gotta ask. If you like the car and it drives well, offer cash right there and present a cashiers check for 5000 or as high as you’re willing to go. Check the KBB value and run a carfax value on it too. Those two numbers will give you a fair ballpark of what you’d pay for it.
      Sellers looking to sell an older car will gladly accept cash if you show them the cash.

    • @mazumazu3935
      @mazumazu3935 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrishammillaudio I definitely plan on getting the car inspected by a mechanic when I check it out in person. I saw the values on carfax and KBB and 5000 seems to be a good starting point considering everything, I appreciate your response :)
      Overall how has the car treated you before you sold it? Was there any issues that you had? And did you get traction control and ABS for this trim or is that on available in the higher ones?

    • @chrishammillaudio
      @chrishammillaudio  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Chasis for the SN95 Mustangs are tanks and Ford thankfully kept the Mustang pretty analog until the 10-14 S197 cars. They had just enough computer tech in them to make them reliable and that's it. I owned 3 SN95 V6s (2 98s and this 03). Never had a problem with them apart from general maintenance.
      If your mechanic checks the car out and gives you a thumbs up, get it. You'll enjoy it especially if it's a manual. I currently drive a 08 GT manual and I don't think I can ever go back to a V6 or 4 cylinder or even an automatic, but I really do miss this car. The interiors are very cheaply made and feel cheap, but as far as mechanical reliability the SN95 Mustangs are some of the most reliable cars I ever owned. Mine did have traction control but it was less than useless. These cars I think have 75% of the weight in the front and all the power is in the real wheels, yet if you drive slowly and carefully you can power through winters in this car. The only recurring issue with this car was the window motors. Every winter I would think I can roll the windows down, only for the window to either break the motor or the motor would freeze and either scenario needed to be replaced. The power steering pump starts to go wrong around 100K miles and you'll hear almost like a whining sound every time you turn the wheel all the way left or right. Other than that I never had issues.
      If you buy the car, get every fluid changed and get a transmission flush. Every oil change put a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil in the oil compartment (your engine will thank you) and put a container of Sea Foam in the fuel after your oil change (your fuel line will thank you).

    I looking to get one guy has clean title no rust at all 100k miles on the dot practically he asking 4000k for it I was gonna talk him down to 3,500 think it’s a good deal or nah ?

    • @chrishammillaudio
      @chrishammillaudio  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      $3,500 is fair if the title is good and the service record is great. Have a mechanic you trust check the car before you buy and specifically check the chasis for rust if the car is in a northern climate.
      Most importantly, ask how the car was driven. That way you can determine how good the transmission is health wise.
