I have more than enough craftsman batteries for my tools, but some of the Bauer tools are so reasonably priced and plenty for my DIY needs, that I have a couple of Bauer tools. I bought two adapters that let me use my craftsman batteries, and so I do like the “tool only” options for my situation. I hope they hold up well!
On the impact wrench sometimes when loosening tight bolts, you may have to leave it on the bolt/nut and activate it for up to 10 seconds so the impact mechanism can put more strikes in the rotation of the mechanism. If after 10 seconds or so it still hasn't loosened the nut, it's time to use a more powerful wrench. You'd be surprised at what this brushless Bauer impact wrench will loosen if given the chance. The previous (brushed) impact wrench by Bauer has less power than the brushless, and is about the same size, or is the same size as your Kobalt wrench. The Bauer Brushless has more power than the previous brushed version and is considerably smaller. Size doesn't equate to power especially in modern day tools. I have the brushed Bauer impact wrench, and it hasn't failed me yet in the ability to loosen a lug nut. I torque my pickup tires to 140 ftlbs per hte manual, and the brushed version has no problem at all loosening the lugs. I do want to switch to the brushless, more powerful and smaller version.
Thanks for sharing that information with us! Yes I believe it’s a powerful impact as well I didn’t want to just set there and hammer on it with less than charged battery I would have no problem trusting it with my lug nuts!
It’s like giving a small child a toy, but batteries not included. Can’t play with it until you get batteries (or charge it first if it’s rechargeable).
