So many to choose from. A full list might be infinite! I will go with albums recorded in my lifetime that I adore.
      "The Bends" Radiohead
"Seldom Seen Kid Live at Abbey Road" Elbow and BBC Concert Orchestra.
Abbey Road is almost the entirety of recorded music. From Stravinsky to today? I can't even!

The first time Taylor Hawkins recorded with the Foo Fighters was the Baker Street cover there. He also recorded a master class in drumming video at the studio. I was stationed in Great Briton in the 80s and I would go there just to look at Mecca !!!!

I recorded there many times as a session player during the 70s and 80s and it never loses its sense of magic, that sense of somewhere special to be permitted entrance to. Studio 2 has a 'vibe' that is just...well, beyond my powers of description. I'm more or less retired now, so you can imagine my sense of sheer satisfaction when recently my daughter, also a musician, recorded there for the first time.

It's a dream of mine to get into studio 2 someday. Just to touch the walls, walk down the stairs, and even smell the room would probably bring me to tears. To be in the same room as those four lads who would work 10-12 hour days creating masterpiece after masterpiece would be so magical. If those walls could talk.

I spoke with a young lady who works there and was answering questions about the reverb chamber. I was in a function band playing a lot of Beatles songs back in the the day (late 80s/early 90s) and I heard they had opened Abbey Road Studios to the public, so we had to go and do the tour. They had Studio two decked out with a lot of original Beatles instruments and recording equipment. It was spiritual being in there, like visiting a Cathedral. I could have sworn for a moment I detected the acrid scent of the Fab Four's stale cigarette smoke! All too soon the tour was over and we were outside joining the tourists, holding up traffic while trying to get a good shot of our four-piece walking across the Zebra. Happy days!!

I found a Las Vegas Library list called "Legendary Albums Recorded at Abbey Road Studios." Freegal and Hoopla, which stream albums for free, are available through libraries all over the country. I used it for recent albums by Neil Young, Graham Nash, Yes and Silk Sonic. Nice to be able to listen to an entire album without worrying about the pay wall. (Sometimes I end up purchasing.)
Hoopla and Kanopy also have music documentaries. Grace Jones, Muscle Shoals, Creem, Let There Be Drums, It Might Get Loud, Woodstock, an Echo in the Canyon, the recent Gordon Lightfoot documentary, Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, Hired Gun, Sidemen, and many of The Great Courses series about music - all available on demand for free. Here's to libraries!

You have a great channel. I watch frequently. I am distantly related to Edmund Trevor Lloyd Wynne Williams 1859-1946 co-founder of the British Gramophone Company. The reason the board granted him approval is because other family members were on the board including Romer Williams 1850-1942 and Sir Ernest de la Rue 1852-1929 (both brothers-in-law to Edmund). It was actually Edmund's nephew - Captain Lawrence Trevor Greaves Osmond "Dubbie" Williams 1885-1930 who reconnoitered and selected the property that would become Abbey Road Studios. Of possible interest, Edmund's great nephew is Tarquin Gotch (he has connections all over the UK music industry- you can "Google" him) and also Maxine Barker 1956-1992 one-time girlfriend to Glenn Tilbrook and a young lady who played an instrumental role in getting Chris Difford and Glenn together to form Squeeze! Warren: THANK YOU for an amazing video, I can tell you put a TON of work into that, the amount of details you crammed in was extraordinary and at the same time, very easy to take in. This is the video that they should have made and that I wanted to see when I watched the recent Netflix one which didn't even begin to touch on the amount of information that you've included. I'm a huge fan of British recording studios, especially the great Abbey Road (I also have that huge book, Recording The Beatles) and your video is essential viewing to not only get the history and importance of the studio, but it's place in the history of sound recording. Thanks again for this and also thanks for that great interview with Geoff Pesche. Cheers Simon Harris

Thanks Warren - great job! I've "always" wanted to see the inside. In my first effort, in 1977, when security was rather lax, I was able to walk in the front door, see the many gold record plaques on the hallway walls, and ask a receptionist if they did or allowed tours [which they didn't]. It would be nearly impossible for me to ever be able to be there for any of the occasional organized tours that they sometimes do [I just missed one back around 1984 - I found a ticket on the ground nearby a couple weeks afterward]. Your video is a great substitute for the real thing! [Bob from Arizona]
