- Daniel Ash from Love and Rockets interview recorded by me from MTV UK, via analogue satellite receiver, connected to VHS VCR via ISOX start cable on Friday, Feb 16th 1990. I recorded the full show, then edited out all the promos etc from other bands and just kept the interview parts from Love & Rockets

the best interview of Daniel Ash I've ever seen. They were my first idols I ever got to meet face to face when I offered them some iced tea after a Toronto show, which they so cooly declined (what had they been drinking backstage anyway?) behind the venue. and I remember them all so soft-spoken and elegant, perfectly rock stars and me, in the Love and Rockets T-shrt and toque, fanboy to the max holding iced teas. we didn't give up 'though, me and two other fans from the same town (interestingly all four of us waiting outside for them were from Hamilton, 'though we didn't all know each other) found out which hotel they're staying at and smoothed our way up to his room to get autographs on ripped cigarette pack cardboard. a seventh dream of teenage heaven.
Underrated and so amazingly talented.
Daniel has really nice eyes!
And hairstyle too.
I recently heard Daniel's solo album Foolish Thing Desire. I'm kinda shocked that album seems to have fallen under the radar. Here she comes again is one of the greatest rock songs I've ever heard. Also "bluebird" sounds like a classic yet undiscovered dance track that feels like it should have been as big as Blue Monday.

Great interview. But Ash's voice kept reminding me of someone, but I couldn't pinpoint it. And then I did: Nigel Tufnel. You can almost imagine Ash talking about his new track Lick My Love Pump. ;)

Hi Zack Glad you enjoyed it :-) The only other thing I have is what is known as "The Crazy Rock Festival" live Santiago Chile Nov 27th 1996. There are clips of this on TH-cam. But I have the full 47 minute video, which must be about the full gig as they only performed 9 songs. I had two friends whom I traded video tapes in Chile, both in Santiago, working for a TV station there, sometimes I got unbroadcast recordings, other times just the TV versions, not sure which I have right now as the tape is in my garage under a stack of stuff, will did it out ASAP and put some on youtube since there is interest.

Quality is about the same as this show I uploaded recently by Dave Mathews Band th-cam.com/video/2SKxWus80lg/w-d-xo.html The tape is NTSC, same as this DMB video. Im located in-between Falkirk and Stirling.

Danny even though your "landing date" took place on "July 31st" I'm here to wish you a "belated 🎂 greeting"!!!... Just like ( with Peter's case on "July 11th"... ) my "Internet connection" decided to fucking BLOW DOGS COCKS and I couldn't post any comments for you guys!!!... July is one of my least favorite months first of all because it's "full blown summer"= my most HATED season and Bauhaus' demise took place in "early July 1983" among other reasons but I'm fucking GRATEFUL that July saw the LANDING of three Bauhaus boys on 🌍 ( Peter, Kevin-late 🎂 greetings to Kevin too "July 19th"- and you of course!!!... ) ***Happy ( belated )🎂 Danny!!!...***

What kind of interview plays music WHILE the guest is talking?
Useless concept.
It was a bloody annoying habit of the MTV editors back in the day, it has ruined many interviews where the music is louder than the person being interviewed as it almost is in this video.
Think he's snorting coke with that rudolph red nose? Supposedly, I don't know first hand, at MTV in the early days that was just kind of a given for the celebs.
