I’m dying. People are mad that a character isn’t as “attractive” as she was in previous games? I think she looks relatively the same, but more realistic. I think this says more about the players than the devs quite honestly. 🤣
During the spa scene in Skellige where they talk about Ciri's thigh tattoo, CDPR put in an option for Ciri to say the tattoo is a reminder of someone who was special to her... if you haven't read the books, this person is Mistle, a girl who sexually assaults Ciri. So they will definitely go with the lesbian route if there are romances even though designating someone's sexuality based on who they have been sexually assaulted by is disgusting.
I don't really care that much about how she looks, but I'm not gonna gaslight myself into saying she looks the same as some people have been doing. Honestly I'm just happy we're getting a new witcher game
@@GetThePizza She definitely does not look the same, for better or worse. Like you, im just happy after all these years we’re getting a new one, hope its good.
I really hope the next yugioh anime doesn’t have a female protagonist. I’ve been going to locals for over 6 years at this point and I have never seen a woman there who isn’t with her boyfriend. This is a guy thing, I wish chicks liked it but they don’t. Making the protagonist a girl isn’t going to change that, it’s only going to make the show worse.
@@musvijajuzagrilariocara8583 Have they been playing around with that idea? Haven’t heard anything. I haven’t cared about the anime in a long time personally, probably wouldn’t watch the new one either.
@@XSaberUruzYugioh Twitter constantly has discussions like “we NEED a female protag” They also keep saying Duel Monsters needs a reboot or remake which is retarded
@thefonzpart Gotcha. Do we really NEED a female protagonist though? lol. How many girls actually play ygo? Idk. I haven't liked any of the protags other than Yugi and Yusei, frankly. If they made a cool female protag I'd be fine with it, but it's not like we NEED anything other than the game to stop being the dumpster fire it currently is. As far as a reboot, I think ya'll know my opinions so.
Totally understand where you’re coming from where you wanna give something a chance and don’t want to immediately wave it off as woke and therefore trash That’s a really good mindset to have. However, I think with how we have changed culturally and keeping in mind everything that has happened in the last 10 years politically. That’s why people are like “Alright, I see where this is going. Seen it loads of times” I get that mindset too tbh
@@thefonzpart I get the mindset too, but I also think there’s something called recognition and confirmation bias. Like I said in another comment to you, at the end of the day if the game is good its good, thats mostly all I care. There might be choices and aspects of it that I dont like, but if its still a good game I will play it regardless
The problem I, and many other witcher lovers, have is that Ciri is the protagonist at all. It is a betrayal to the lore that there is a female AND an adult witcher. And it is also a betrayal to Geralt that she has gone through the trial of the grasses, he embraced the idea of her being a pseudo witcher and taking on contracts, but not go through the trials. We could have gone with Vesemir in his youth, or the school of the bear peak times when the world was full of monsters. I agree with not being able to immerse in the world with a female lead, even if it's Ciri. We're not bigots or misogynists, we play female characters in video games, the vast majority of dudes play females in world of warcraft, we play both male and female in league of legends and overwatch, yk what I mean. But this is about witchers, it's meant to be a male pov, ostracized, hated, isolated, yet someone that fights for the common folk that spit on them, THE PATH. This is a guy thing. Sorry for ranting, I was so disappointed and I've been waiting for so many years for a new game. P.S., ik beauty is subjective, but Ciri in the new trailer is gorgeous. Also she won't have her elder blood powers, they'll write the story so that she lost them after fighting the white frost
I feel all that, like I said, you're not a bigot for feeling this way, I just don't personally mind as much. I did say if I had the choice though, I'd play as Geralt not her lol, for similar reasons. It's just not enough of an issue for me to where I wouldn't buy the game. To each their own though.
i get where you are coming from, but where is this thing about her going through the trial of the grasses? i cant find anything that specifies she underwent the trials or mutations aside from people saying she did because of her using potions or calling herself a Witcher. ciri has always called herself a Witcher ever since she trained with geralt and the others. and potions aren't only a Witcher thing. many sorceress use magic potions and triss is known to have a rare allergy to potions, that's why she uses amulets. potions are fairly common in the lore and sorcerers typically sell them to nobles, and presents alike to gain wealth
Yasuke in AC was a huge issue because of multiple reasons that I would need more than one comment to explain I think saying “oh well Ghost of Tsushima” is a wild take. Game came out 4 years ago *edit* “Yeah I think it’s bullshit they broke the lore but I’m gonna buy it anyway” Also a wild take. Like do people have standards? A game isn’t just the gameplay, it’s multiple things. Same logic as “yeah I hate modern Yugioh but I’m gonna spend hundreds of dollars every month on the game anyway”
@@thefonzpart Doesn’t matter that it came out 4 years a go, everyone has been comparing the games since its announcement. Not only that, but Nioh, so they probably didn’t feel like going the William Adams route either. I know all the reasons people think Yasuke is a problem, at least all the popular internet takes. Its not my favorite choice like I said, I think Hanzo was the obvious one, but I dont have a problem with it either.
@ So if it doesn’t matter it came out 4 years ago, then why does that logic not hold up consistently with other games? Having the one time they make an AC in Japan and not have it star a Japanese person is just insulting. Yeah we have the female playable but she’s just to check off a box. If it was ONLY a Japanese female playable then it would make more sense Japan is like one of the most homogenous countries one can think of especially in the modern day. There was also loads of gaslighting and people purposefully changing Wikipedia articles to suit their pro-Yasuke arguments So many negative things that outweigh “oh well they didn’t wanna have a Japanese ninja 4 years after Ghost of Tsushima came out” People are comparing Astro Bot to Mario Galaxy and that doesn’t mean people wouldn’t love another Astro Bot or Mario Galaxy game
