I love hearing this guy talk about Witcher and the vision of CDPR. Also, I hope the Open World keeps me interested for as much if not more than in The Witcher 3. This was my favorite part of TW3, the open world exploration and how immersive of a world it was when traveling.
@ΣτέργιοςΜποπότας-ζ1μThey seem to think every woman should look like a barely mature hairdresser, no matter what they do and how old they are. I would throw a party if we find out that the new Ciri is now about 70 years old. I would love that. 🤣
She learned nothing from Geralt and Vezemir. She gets angry, she meddles with human affairs ... They both butchered their job. 🤣 So excited where this is going. She really needs a new witcher school, this is not what they were supposed to be.
@@heiker1351 idk if a new witcher school would change anything. I think no one will ever get as close to her as Geralt, Yen, Vezemir etc. She should just evolve on her own which I hope she does or already did in TW4
Awful that they even have to adresse the "backlash" when it's just the hateful cycle of so many youtubers who have never had any interest in the Witcher. No need for more explanation because those hateful people don't want one, they just want to be mad ad eternum.
lol. Ok, why? What is the secret plan to be mad? Why there is no need for explanation? Are you scared you little fragile world is gonna shatter? Or what? You are literraly talking nosence. No idea, no logic. Ok I lost my interest while I was writing this
@sfdgag9439 I agree with you but they are just going about it the wrong way they are crying "woke" but they don't realize if this game came out 10 years ago no one would have really been crying about it however there would be people who wouldn't be interested in playing as a gender they don't identify with.. for example I've known many female gamers who would rather play as female characters it's pretty simple. It's unfortunate the way that they're going about it but I think these times that we're in right now are really crazy
I agree, there are also other people who react to that loud minority and spread the irrelevant outrage by sharing it, causing the whole Witcher discussion to no longer be constructive, but in bad faith. It's best to ignore these people, as it only gives them more unnecessary attention.
@sfdgag9439What he is saying is so common in every industry that it shouldn't be a shock to anyone, there is no explanation because its how the internet works, no need to be that butthurt my friend
I will miss playing Geralt, but I'm excited for Ciri gameplay with her wider range of abilities, and curious to see how she reacts to all the deeply tragic and ridiculous situations we can find in a Witcher game :)
I don’t have any problems with Ciri being the protagonist it’s just that I don’t understand why she is a fully fledged Witcher but I believe they will explained that.
I don't care about the opinion of players who are trying to bring down the game even before its release The studio has chosen Ciri since developing the third part and she is the best choice I don't want to see Geralt as a cow that the studio milks Geralt's story is great and it has ended {CDP Unlike the rest }
I doubt majority of the people want Geralt back. It's more about having to do retcons and compromises with the established lore when they go with Ciri instead of allowing players to create their own character for example. In the books and in the games, Ciri is the most powerful being in their world and now the devs have to create an excuse to dumb her down due to gameplay reasons. But as long as the excuse is plausible and logical, there will be no problems really.
not even before release.. before a proper gameplay trailer. This was just a tiny pre-rendered teaser. I partly understand the "woke" discussion but here its really over-used sorry.. people are becoming crazy
@@Coldsilfur4 Yeah man, some people haven't played the game and are criticizing it. And a lot of others are crazy and in my opinion have no right to say anything about the trailer.
Ciri had Witcher training at Kaer Morhen in her youth and her adopted father is Geralt of Rivia. This feels like natural progression to me. Witchers can cast basic spells (Signs) and some schools seem to rely on magic signs for combat more than others but Ciri is a Source, A child with Elder blood with magic potential far greater than any Witcher and most mages. I fail to see why people are complaining that this is not in line with the lore? Trailer was fantastic, can’t wait to see what the team at CDPR does with this going forward.👍
I am happy with the direction CDPR is taking. Ciri with her abilities is a great character for an open word RPG. A variety of development paths is definitely something this type of world needs. However, to be fair to criticism, Ciri should not be able to use magic and signs. If not all of them, then at least fire magic and the Igni sign. Ciri rejected this form of magic in the books. I hope Cdpr intends to justify this somehow and not focus only on the main criticism in the form of a woman becoming a Witcher.
In lore women can't be Witchers, and only 30-40% of Witchers survive mutations. But yeah, she is a child of Elder Blood, not just a normal girl. Also just because something was not possible in the past, doesn't mean that it will stay like this forever. I'm sure CDPR will explain what happened very well in the game, they've always been consistent with the lore.
@@atryan1125 Agreed, the fact that 3-4 boys out of 10 only survive the trials is the established lore however it also says “Witchers are creatures born of foul magic” even though we know this is only partly true as the trial of the grasses is an alchemical process and CDPR established in W3 there is an alternative route through sorcery as proven by Yennefer’s mutation of Avallach. Ciri is certainly a unique individual capable of beating these odds.
@@sanjayraju988Grown human women, maybe. How many times did they try before they gave up? You need at least a 1000 examples for a statistic. Given the circumstances even the mages may have shied away from that. The lore within the witcher world contains tons of lies. Witchers obviously have a heart. They know it beats slower, so they can hear it. And Ciri is something else. They tried to breed elder blood and she has it.
I always hoped it would be Ciri and I couldn’t be happier. Geralt is enjoying his retirement! Ciri knows most characters from previous games so we may meet them and Geralt again
So true. What I am most excited about: Ciri is also a new character. This is neither child Ciri nor the young woman looking for her own destiny. She is about to shape it. And it looks like she is happy to meddle. A new direction for the witcher's path? This has the potential for huge changes. Letho tried to renew the viper school. The cats endangered not only themselves. The wolf pack abandoned their lair. What is Ciri, the former princess turned witcher, up to? I am so hyped. 🤣
I swear they didn't play the witcher 3 In their lives they cry and scream because the main character is a woman Some people still say about cyuperbunk It's bad and Filled of bugs They really don't even deserve to waste time with them. 😂😂😂
@@mjevictor19.49 They really said Cyberpunk is bad while Phantom Liberty already disproves them all long ago, they still refuses to actually judge and insist inside their echo chamber, 4 years and stable 50k players without online is achievement on it's own, standing at 20th position in Steam charts above big players like Wukong, Elden Ring, Red Dead 2, and Stalker 2
All they can do is bitch and moan, I hope CDPR ignores them and follows their vision. The ones acting like little children are just a vocal minority. To me Witcher 3 was a masterpiece and set the bar really high, only they can out-do that game.
As the developer said: Nobody will be offended by this game.. And when you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing nobody.. (Specially when "everyone" mainly means a small elite that does not play anyway, and that pay them well to spread their propaganda..) They have become woke, so this will be just as "great" as the Netflix serial..
Seems like guys addicted to corn and buy only fans subscriptions have a problem with her. For someone living in a war torn, monster infested environment she looks attractive to me. I guess outside of only fans these guys have not seen women that live in conditions of high poverty. Most of them are going to look rough even the attractive ones and I think that's what the devs are trying to portray. Personally it would be jarring to me living in those conditions and Ciri looked like a first world pageant model or something. I understand wanting Ciri to be attractive but not so attractive she looks too out of place if you want to be immersed in the world.
I see most comments are not about they don’t want Ciri as a main protagonist but Ciri as a Witcher. Another attempt to divert from the real conversation again. Alas, I just hope that they will have a good story for her to be a Witcher.
Tbh i feel a little saddened that the team had to justify or explain the trailer. There's so much art and love being poured into this universe and they're hiring some world class talent and doing a lot of great work. I am so excited for this game, been playing since the first game which was a very long time ago.
The backlash is ridiculous. Its mostly rage bait culture brainrot from people who are either non fans or casual fans. It was obvious by the end of Blood and Wine that they would go with Ciri as a protag if they ever came back to the series. For sure, some fans are worried about how the game's narrative will justify the decision, but CDPR has never really failed in that department. I can't help but be excited, please take your time with this and give us a banger videogame!
No it isn’t. People aren’t upset because they’re playing as Ciri. Everyone loved her, so we hate to know that Geralt and Yennefer/Triss would subject her to the horrific trial of the grasses. CDPR violated the cannon of their world and twisted the personality of their core characters just to have a female protagonist with the same gameplay style.
@@sanjayraju988 How do you know that Geralt and Yen had anything to do with it? Her medallion isn't even the school of the Wolf. Nobody knows why she went through it, let them cook and explain the narrative reasons for the decision before jumping to conclusions. Its waaay too early to definitively say it violates the canon. Its never explicitly stated that no woman can survive the trial, only that its very dangerous for them. Ciri is one of the most powerful beings in the Witcher universe, a product of years of elven mage genetical engineering. Its not that big of a leap to say she would survive the trial, hell even Avallach survived as an adult with Yen's help. Stop fretting over a pre rendered teaser trailer, we know nothing about the actual story yet.
@@sanjayraju988 Somehow you've invented a whole ridiculous narrative without any supportive evidence. Ciri has always wanted to be a witcher, it makes complete sense for her to become one. As for Geralt and Yennefer's participation, it's funny you think she would even ask for permission. The way Ciri is, they would either help her and make it safer or she would do it on her own.
@@sanjayraju988 -Second book mentioned that Ciri drank a potion and survives, this is how she discovers her Elder blood power, possible anchor for TW4 story -Uma is just a one guy, and Trial of the Grasses is dangerous to being with, perhaps Ciri managed to convince Yen to do some magic, because that was maybe how Uma 100% survivad -In Blood and Wine, Yen contacted Geralt, saying that there's a rumor of an abandoned experiment lab, it's something about a wizard wanting to revert his son's Witcher mutation and ends up enhancing it, while we don't know the survival rate, it's likely has high survival chance, the son and Geralt himself ends up becoming sort of Super Witcher, this could be also possible anchor for TW4, mixing Yen's rediscovered formula and the Wizard's How did Ciri even get mutated despite Yen and Geralt being against it? Well unless you are here just to come yapping and hoping the bandwagon, if you know The Witcher then we know Ciri is literally "rules are made to be broken" type person lol
@@sanjayraju988 You are an A grade example of the brain rot. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. You have probably watched one season of The Witcher tv show and now view yourself as an expert.
So as far as the trials of the grasses, the lodge of sorceresses developed a safer way to do the trial in TW3, and even did it to Uma in the main story. Geralt also groomed Ciri to be a Wutcher. No one seems to have connected those 2 dots...
The only thing that made me sad about the reveal, is that chances are that we saw Ciri in her starting armor which means its gonna get replaced pretty early... But it looks so coooool
Im very much happy seeing this interview. They saw some part of the community had concers. What do they do? Talk about some more stuff and asure that the concerns are unfound. I already said it in the witcher 4 trailer. LET. THEM. COOK. 🔥
I think maybe a sense of apathay is more prevelant. And I think the overly optimistic fans are just looking for a dragon to slay, hence all the talk about the unjustified hate. However, you need to take into account everything that has occurred since Witcher 3's peak success. These include the steep reduction in the quality of most AAA studios and all the checklist DEI stuff that made most games' stories and characters forgettable. Most people in real life that I talked with think that Ciri becoming a witcher is just realizing the bad ending to Witcher 3. One thinks that Geralt and Jennifer are going to get either the Luke Skywalker or Han Solo treatment of the new trilogy. I am somewhat disappointed in how things went with Gwent, their online card game, and their ditching the RED engine. I am not very excited about a female sword-wielding protagonist; pulling this off will be a tremendous task for them. Thus, I will not preorder the Witcher 4 but wait and see more about this game.
I hope that there will be a lot of content, including more fist fights, horse riding and above all, more NPCs for Gwent. But also many, many more monster contracts. I wish the game was as long as Witcher 3. I know that many people complained that the game is too long, but I hope that even if CDP shortens the main plot, there will still be interesting content for at least 100 hours of the game.
Part of the backlash is from too many poorly done girl boss characters in media over the last decade. As long as CDPR does a decent job with the lore and avoid an extremely buggy launch, it will be fine.
How quickly people have forgotten one of the greatest statements in gaming history. Henry Cavil - "I hear what you're saying, but when it comes to fans, it is a fans *right* to have whatever opinion they want to have and people are going to be upset especially when you're talking about books or games because you're never going to be the exact person who they had in their head or who they played on Witcher 3 for example. I don't necessarily consider that toxic, I just consider that passionate." I've played Witcher 1,2, 3 loved them all. The Ciri I've seen in W3 is not how I see her in W4. I see her with a more pointed chin, some of you don't. That's great but stop attacking me or anyone else because of our opinion of the game doesn't align with your own. I'll still buy Witcher 4 because my only issue a minor one, this trailer is the first of many to come and Ciri might look exactly the way I want her to look in game.
@@Roland1405 You & the other brain-dead twit must be lovers of Dragon Age failguard, how's that game working out for you anyway. ohh did I offend you, better drop and do a quick 10 - pulling a barf, wait no it's a Traash, no that isn't it either.
@@Roland1405 Now it makes sense, you guys just have an account on youtube to be keyboard warriors, lmfao. Now it makes sense. Have fun smashing those keys little boys. lmao.
I'm honestly excited for it, I don't really understand the disappointment. It seems natural for them to go with Ciri and develop her story and her character more in depth. They're also going with a familiar/beloved character than having to come up with something new and different. She was absolutely AMAZING in the trailer!!
I think they made the right decision to go with Ciri because it makes for more storytelling and a better combat system. I think they pretty much maxed Geralt out in the witcher 3 ITs simply hard to top the witcher 3 with another Geralt story.
People worried about Witcher 4 not being as good as Witcher 3: There is a meta-layer we should be aware of - The Witcher 3 was the payoff and conclusion to a trilogy. It has the highest stakes, the biggest character moments, etc because it was the end. Witcher 4 is a reset of sorts, starting from the ground up, introductions and setting of the board, if you will. They're not striving to make the same game every release like some devs (Bethesda, Ubisoft) so I trust that the game part (not the story/writing) could be better! Combat, exploration, interactivty of world, choices and replayability were not perfect in W3, and can be improved. But like a said, the function of W4 is limited. But depending on the scope, it could very well exceed 3 in writing. Though that is a tall order. But that kind of reductive comparison is not meaningful. All that matters to me is good or not good.
yea witcher3 isnt perfect we all know that, but is still the best game ever made. so a good story and improving on combat will just make another incredible game but i doubt it could be as good as witcher3
@@fire4ev it's hard, like I said the story may not be as epic, but the game could be better. They also have a lot more money so we could get some really cool stuff like multiple Novigrads' worth of cities, or one bigger city like half a cyberpunk or something. They can also gameify the experience of being a Witcher better with more interactive npc's and contracts. The combat will be much better cause Cyberpunk's was amazing. I'm hoping they really go for it. We could have the makings of another Rockstar if they keep coming back bigger and better. AND THEY DON'T RELEASE A BROKEN GAME.
pretty sure almost everyone who like witcher world be more than happy to play Ciri since she is also a loved character ! i just more interested what kind of romantic choices she would have. btw for example Cyberpunk 2077 most people prefer the female character vs male character to play . i think Ciri choice is great imo geralt already we know all his powers. i really like how dev talks seems really know what they want to achieve . when game is on steam i pre order just like i did with all their games
The problem I have with it is there will more than likely be romantic sections that AREN'T choices. I always play a male character in games with a character creation like cyberpunk. While witcher 3 was one of my favorite games of all time, it wasn't because of ciri. I was fine with here being in the story but hated playing as her. Now I'm sure her gameplay mechanics will be improved in a full game so that shouldn't be an issue. The romance options will need addressed or it's a deal breaker for me however.
@@restful-shrimp2662 There was plenty of dialog between geralt and yennifers romance that wasn't optional like the beginning scenes for example. I wouldn't enjoy playing those scenes through the perspective of yennifer.
@@restful-shrimp2662 For me it's simple. If there's a romantic story with another man I simply won't play the game. If it's with another woman I might still not play as that's not really much better. To me that would be a game more suitable for women which is fine I guess.
I have no issue with Ciri being the protaganist for this game and more to come, and I'm not sure as to why there is a "backlash" to it. Ciri was always trained as a witcher and wanted to be one. I am more so excited to learn why and how she got the actual mutagens/trial of the grasses in order to become one. And even if Geralt probably would not approve of Ciri becoming a real witcher in terms of the mutagens, I saw this video a bit back where the narrator basically said something like: during The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, both Geralt and Yennefer and "crew" must come to term with Ciri deciding for herself. Am hyped for new witcher action, and learning the how and the why to Ciri having the mutagens
Thanks for doing a video interview. (Too much trailer footage though in-between and at the beginning). Writing has been the strongest point in all the Witcher games; be it the main quest, the smallest side quest or even a piece of paper found in the world. Looking forward to seeing the world of the Witcher through the eyes of Ciri.
What concerns me is the DEI allegations about CDPR and the number of licences butchered by this in other major studios. Keep doing what you always did and everybody will follow you on this journey. I truly believe in CDPR and Ciri seems to be the only legitimate character for this role !
There are many games I really loose interest in because they make really bad choices with the protagonist or characters in general.. And first of all this is way way to early to judge a game based on just this trailer. But knowing what I know about Ciri ...this have the potential to be a really kickass game! And I am all for it! Also these two are so nice to listen to. Just wanna give em a hug! :P
Ciri as a protagonist isn’t bad. Her using Witcher potions and signs is, she should not be able to use those. Also she is a child of the elder blood, her powers are far more powerful than that anyway.
@@crackwh0re911 People were mad when they learned they do not play as John Marston in RDR2 and were insulting Arthur Morgan as a character, before game even could show who he was. Ciri we know from W3 is already badass, but lacks in character because she is like 18 y/o. Now imagine the same badass that had 10/20 years to grow as character.
As people do. They just want something to scream at. It's crazy to me that people are calling this "woke" or that Ciri is ugly. She looks beautiful for one, especially in comparison to other recent titles with female leads.. Nothing in this trailer screams "woke". Its full of references to moments from previous trailers, the books, and the game trilogy. This reaction would be expected if Ciri was suddenly a different nationality, had dreadlocks, and was preaching to the men in the village about her gender.. Once again, people just want an enemy to scream at and fight, and since all the other horses in the industry have been beaten to death in recent times they need a new target. Most of the people complaining have never read the books, and they can't even recite accurate moments from the games in their stupid ass comments. I have a good feeling about this game, because its where CDPR originally did their best and shined in. It could turn out to be absolute dogwater, but I doubt it. This isn't a new IP, this is where CDPR did their best.
I trust CD Projekt RED...The Witcher 3 it's a VERY special game for me...I KNOW the will deliver an amazing experience with The Witcher 4...lets GOOOOO CIRIIIII...❤❤❤❤
Guys, just let them cook. They know what they are doing, lets not get too many wrong ideas and not rush them. If its anything like TW3 we will have a new trilogy for decades to play and enjoy
I have no problem with Ciri as a protagonist. It seems natural progression. Just that dont make Ciri as protagonist due to the wokeness that is going around these days. We all have trust in you.
At the end of Witcher 3 we all knew Siri would be protagonist. What im hoping is they learned from Cyberpunk are quest outcomes/morality systems. Near every quest had a depressing outcome. It didn't matter how hard you worked for a positive outcome, it would always be depressing. Like what's the point of giving the players choices if there was never any effect.

Ik this is petty but the fact that people are complaining about her looks is wild. Whether she’s in her 20s or 30s (or a century for all we know) she still looks hotter than the majority of Hollywood actors. Hey guys - did you know they’re working on The Witcher Remake, an open-world game running on UE5. So, yes, we’ll get Geralt again in next-gen form. Be patient, enjoy it, and be happy! 😁
1:40 that's not the reason there are reservations about Ciri being the protagonist of this game, clever way to dodge a bullet as usual. The real reason (and you know this very well) is the fact you turned her into a full fledged witcher... I have zero issues playing as Ciri in the new game, it also feels right given the events of the previous one, as you said. There is so much you could have done with Ciri as is. Her magic capabilities, her elder blood, her trainings with Geralt, etc. There was absolutely NO NEED for her to be drinking potions and fitghing just like Geralt. You could have spared her the mutations, respect the source material and expand it with your own twist. Was it so difficult?
Brother, the games broke source Material before And many anti woke grifters only talked about how manly and ugly ciri became and how its woke to play a women If you seriously spend time getting angry about her becoming a witcher you got other problems you should adress first
As someone who has a strong opinion about "woke games" - and they are not nice, I can tell that having Ciri as main protagonist has nothing to do with "girlbossing", "uglification" or whatever some people say! Ciri was the only one choice! Everyone should have known! This decision was made and I'm waiting for that since W3!!!! It was clear long before any woke shit!!! And I didn't played W3 for so long and invested time to find Ciri, having father-like sympathy and fight the Wild Hunt to now see her now vanish uncomented! I can just say have a good explanation for the new lore, that clearly has to be there! And of course: Don't make it political! Only ingame politics! 😎 See you on the path!

@atryan1125 Forcing diversity or left-wing politics into a product or service with no artistic intention aside from preaching to others. I personally am Christian. Then, when someone says to stop injecting my ideology everywhere, I just pretend I don't know what you're talking about and ask for a definition.
12:12 is a very important point and a positive sign. I keep going back and forth between hopeful and worried about The Witcher 4, but that right there is a crucial point.
Is this another dimension? How is this explained?? And why is it Ciri who kills the raven-shaped monster??? Was it necessary to do it like that? After all, the bauk is associated with a bear!?
CDPR has been the company for years telling the most interesting, emotional and insightful stories in the industry by far. The Wild Hunt story and its expansions were mind blowing and the story of Cyberpunk, despite the release, is incredible. I'm a fan of everything they've achieved with that strive for detail, innovation and immersion. Both games for me were not just good games, they were a complete experience, like a wonderful memory of a vacation trip or meeting certain people. They were emotional experiences and etched in the memory. Keep going down that road and you will make it great again.
Cyberpunk is by far and away my favourite CDPR game, one of my favourite games of all time, and Night City is incredible. I'm glad to hear that making a bigger open world isn't the priority here.
to be honest its not the size its the quality thats important, i rather have the same zise as w3 maybe even smaller but filled with life and stories and and little things that happen all over the place then a huge ass map thats empty.
In all honesty, I really liked playing as Ciri in the Wild Hunt but I feel that game genres likes these are mostly played by regular dudes. There’s a lot of romance in these games which I enjoy, and as a straight man myself I just feel that role playing as a girl during these romantic scenes would sort of make me want to throw up. Unless I guess I convince myself that I’m the guy she’s talking to instead but it still wouldn’t really have the same romantic feel (which was a really prevalent one) as the first three games while playing with Geralt as the rugged, ladies man.
Witcher 3 was the perfect end for Geralt. And for anyone who wants to play Geralt again, the remake of Witcher 1 will be here eventually. I never played that one so I’m excited for it. As for Witcher 4, Ciri being the protagonist is the right path forward.
I agree 💯. They gave Geralt the ending he deserved. I hate it when they milk the cashcow until it bleeds and dies. It is so much better not to fall into this trap and develop a new protagonist. A neverending story will always become boring and uninspired after a while. I am so exited to learn what happened to Ciri. She changed profoundly. She's on a mission. And it is not one she learned from Vesemir or Geralt. I need to know more. 😃 At first glance I was a little bit disappointed about the trailer. I love the Killing Monsters so much, and the new one is different. But every time I rewatch it, more questions appear. Ciri's story is'nt written, this is the beginning of a new chapter.
unnecessary therapy session, they do not owe anyone any explanation as of now. They believe they make the best game they can like every studio should. And if players will like the game they will buy it, if the players will not like it, they will not. Nothing new here.
Trailer has definitely got me interested. In fact I bought Wild Hunt yesterday! Just make the combat in 4 smoother and chunkier, please. Love hearing you talk about a deeper more immersive world instead of simply a bigger one.
with new school poping up and possible witcher resurgence i wonder if the school of crane will be in as well with their early firearm weapons introduced as a secondary range weapon for ciri to use , who knows lets see what comes
I just hope they keep her ability to teleport. fighting like that was so much fun in witcher 3. Although i like the art and the design of Ciri, imho it just doesnt feel 100 % like her. either her look has to be made softer, what would make her more like in the witcher 3, or her voice needs to be more heroic , deeper and darker to fit her style now.
I actually don’t mind if the protagonist would be ciri or anyone, unless they put some bullshit propaganda just to pleased some mentally ill minority or what they call themselves modern audience.
I am excited! Ciri was the most powerful mage in the continent, what happened?!And what forced her to take the Witcher trial. There is a story there plus damn, those eyes look cool.
Massive Witcher fan. I read the books in the '90s, wiitcher 3 is my fave game. The Witcher ending for Ciri was easily the best. Her becoming the new protagonist is the natural progression. I think the criticisms are - they uglified her much like they have all the other female characters in the industry (not too late to change that) And they need to have a damn good backstory for why she underwent the trial of the grasses. That would fix about 90% of all complaints from real fans.
There is a new Ciri. This woman is not the destined child of Geralt, not the bred woman that will, according to the prophecy, bear the child that changes the destiny of the world that everybody and their grandma are after. This is someone who made a decision. It is not a surprise. Ciri, like Vesemir said about her, is not the fastest or strongest child he trained. But she had the most character. I don't know where this is going, but there are a few hints. She is a true witcher now, but she did'nt lose her emotions. She does'nt look as strong as Geralt in the fight, but she uses a different kind of magic. We don't know yet if the mutations changed her abilities. And this is not the path Vesemir taught the witchers and failed to teach Geralt. She is about to meddle with the fate of humans. I can see no contract in the trailer, no money is involved. She acts against the will of the majority of the village. And she rejects their excuse for the cruelty they project onto witchers: "There are no gods here. There are only monsters." I loved the Killing Monsters trailer, and at first glance I did'nt like the new one very much. Too long, too many words. But every time I watch it, it reveals more and I see the similarities. The length is necessary to set the tone, this is a new story. This is a new Ciri. This will be a whole new game, with a new perspective. Ciri changes the game the witchers were forced to play. She kills the excuses people make up for their behaviour. I already love it. The trailer did not disappoint, it just took me a while to process it. The mix of the Lionesses blood, the white flame that dances on graves, the elder blood and the witcher mutations seems to be rather explosive. The story can go so many ways, I am so curious. Will she be a lone wolf or will the lynx school also form a pack? So many questions ...

@@JH-fp1lw not to mention... they're objectively wrong. Not only is CDPR canon not the books canon but the books never once mention it being impossible for women to become witchers. From memory, in Blood of Elves it mentions 1 of 4 children survived the trials by Carla, that's it, I honestly don't even think Sapkowski cares much about lore since the books contradict themselves at times lol. Man could you imagine if writers weren't allowed to write new lore for stories, so many good stories have come from expanding lore like Fallout New Vegas and Baldurs Gate 3.

Didn't need to turn Ciri into a full Witcher. This completely overides her entire Elder Bloodline concept. Should have just let her use Witcher sword fighting style and incorporated her elder blood teleportation abilities and whicher alchemy. Ciri is the Lady of Time, not a Witcher. This ruins and diminishes her established lore and character.
I like how people complain about Ciri's looks, when the entire shtick of Witcher is that everyone lives in shit. Literally. She's, by profession, a witcher now. She fights monsters knee deep in sewer water, how did you expect her to look?
I wanted a game with Ciri as a main protagonist since i played with her in those sections in Witcher 3, her using spells for movement while also using the sword felt incredibly natural and satisfying and i personally hope they keep that movement system for Witcher 4. Plus she looks badass, older sure but still great. Im patiently waiting for the game in probably 2-3 years time
The more I see this cinematic, and hear the devs speak, the more hyped I get. And I was already pretty happy to begin with.
I love hearing this guy talk about Witcher and the vision of CDPR. Also, I hope the Open World keeps me interested for as much if not more than in The Witcher 3. This was my favorite part of TW3, the open world exploration and how immersive of a world it was when traveling.
Seeing Ciri follow Geralt's legacy is the best and heartwarming route for the series.

Grown Women can not survive the trial of the grasses.

Yea, I also can't wait to play as an ugly, manly version of Ciri.

-Uma is just a one guy, and Trial of the Grasses is dangerous to being with, perhaps Ciri managed to convince Yen to do some magic, because that was maybe how Uma 100% survivad
-In Blood and Wine, Yen contacted Geralt, saying that there's a rumor of an abandoned experiment lab, it's something about a wizard wanting to revert his son's Witcher mutation and ends up enhancing it, while we don't know the survival rate, it's likely has high survival chance, the son and Geralt himself ends up becoming sort of Super Witcher, this could be also possible anchor for TW4, mixing Yen's rediscovered formula and the Wizard's
How did Ciri even get mutated despite Yen and Geralt being against it? Well unless you are here just to come yapping and hoping the bandwagon, if you know The Witcher then we know Ciri is literally "rules are made to be broken" type person lol

I think they made the right decision to go with Ciri because it makes for more storytelling and a better combat system. I think they pretty much maxed Geralt out in the witcher 3 ITs simply hard to top the witcher 3 with another Geralt story.
People worried about Witcher 4 not being as good as Witcher 3:
There is a meta-layer we should be aware of - The Witcher 3 was the payoff and conclusion to a trilogy.

I don't mind Ciri as the main protagonist, I like her as a character, I just don't want the game to be woke. That's my only concern.
Witcher 3 was woke. Were you cool with that?
@krasmasov6852 how was the witcher 3 woke?
@@rubainjason8875 Women characters have agency. Displays empathy towards marginalized groups. Anti-imperialist themes. Sympathetic portrayal of drag queens and gay people.

I am so excited for this game. I love Ciri and can't for her to be the main protagonist.
I'm glad they're speaking about concerns, but they haven't adressed the main issues concerning lore
Ye,but then they would have to talk about the game plot
@MrSilaneo well fuck, idk i wish they maybe revealed a bit more than just a trailer
Just wanna know if this is not pre-rendered and stuff
The game will be great I'm sure of that because I trust the studio and they haven't presented anything weak before. All we have to do is wait until they finish cooking😂
Ik this is petty but the fact that people are complaining about her looks is wild. Whether she’s in her 20s or 30s (or a century for all we know) she still looks hotter than the majority of Hollywood actors. R34 and it’s consequences…
Also, side note: aren’t a lot of these guys supposed to be married or smth? 💀💀💀
Why is this a thing. Did people not play Witcher 3? Ciri is the only one who makes sence
Brother, the games broke source Material before
And many anti woke grifters only talked about how manly and ugly ciri became and how its woke to play a women
If you seriously spend time getting angry about her becoming a witcher you got other problems you should adress first
That's also completely irrelevant. A lore excuse can always be invented if the story needs it.

What is "woke"
@@atryan1125 : You don't know? Being woke is being a moral busybody.
@@atryan1125It what we all did yesterday after we slept. Nothing important. Its just neccessary if we don't want to sleepwalk. Everything else is an opinion.
@atryan1125 Forcing diversity or left-wing politics into a product or service with no artistic intention aside from preaching to others.
I personally am Christian. Imagine if every game you played, book you read, or tv show you watched, had a moral lesson on why Atheists are bad and you should accept Jesus. Like all of them. Then, when someone says to stop injecting my ideology everywhere, I just pretend I don't know what you're talking about and ask for a definition.
My only question regarding The Witcher 4 is: will it be playable on PlayStation 5 upon release?
probably they said the game will be released on the current generation of consoles
@mjevictor19.49 that good I'm planning buying on ps5 it and I thought try get collector's edition
Ciri 💚
Cyberpunk is by far and away my favourite CDPR game, one of my favourite games of all time, and Night City is incredible. I'm glad to hear that making a bigger open world isn't the priority here.
They say similar size to witcher 3 which is already massive but with more depth. Sounds promising
to be honest its not the size its the quality thats important, i rather have the same zise as w3 maybe even smaller but filled with life and stories and and little things that happen all over the place then a huge ass map thats empty.
At first glance I was a little bit disappointed about the trailer. I love the Killing Monsters so much, and the new one is different. But every time I rewatch it, more questions appear. Ciri's story is'nt written, this is the beginning of a new chapter.
I think tahn with Ciri they can make more emotional story and that is good
unnecessary therapy session, they do not owe anyone any explanation as of now.
Wild Hunt is one of the best games ever made.
CDPR! improve the combat and my money is yours!
with new school poping up and possible witcher resurgence i wonder if the school of crane will be in as well with their early firearm weapons introduced as a secondary range weapon for ciri to use , who knows lets see what comes
I like the idea of Ciri being a witcher and playing for her. She looks cool in the trailer😎
I don't know why, but I don't like interviews that cut out all questions.
Ciri is the best character to be the next protagonist easily.
There are only monsters."
I loved the Killing Monsters trailer, and at first glance I did'nt like the new one very much.
It was time the Witcher games were ruined too after Netflix. They also promised to not break the lore, while breaking it simultaneously. Great. 👍
Bioware was the king of rpgs before you guys. Look at them now. That's what we fear the most
I am really hyped and excited, absolutely no problem with Ciri...but it's only normal of gamers to be skeptical given the situation of the industry...definitely no preorders
I also don’t understand all the hate right now with all the little we got. Let’s just wait when the game comes out or when they release more content about the game.
People jump into conclusions very fast.
They conclude what they interpret into the trailer. It's not there, it's only in their head. They won't enjoy the game, they already made up their mind, but they will play it. If they prefer to punish themselves so be it.
The game was born dead
@@BlackXief If you say so.
I have no problems with Ciri being the main character. I am just worried about how are you guys gonna explain that she is an actual Witcher now.
Imagine ppl turning into lore masters just bec they see female protag. Comedy gold. They forget that author of the book said that only his books are real canon after Witcher 1. Let CDPR cook their lore
Kind of ironic actually. CDPR's lore designer got hired because of tweets. Im not joking.
The "muh lore tho" bros are so pathetic. They can't be reasoned with, the goalpost never stops moving.
@dr_diddy ciri is immune to the mutagens, no girls ever survived the trials and shes far too old to ever survive as no adult possibly can
@leonrussell9607She's got magic Elder Blood. Becoming a witcher is like gaining the speed force. A bunch of random beakers with who knows what in them. A little electricity from a thaumatergist or a passing storm. The poof! You're Witcher, Ciri. The trial of the grasses hasn't worked with a female yet. Plot armor solves EVERY problem!

As long as they explain how Ciri becomes a Witcher which is friendly w/the lore, all will be well. Avallac'h probably has a hand in it. I don't see Yen or Geralt putting her through the trial, too dangerous. How Avallac'h u ask? Well, he survived the trial. If Yen can do the spells for the trial, u know Avallac'h can and will figure it out, he's a more powerful mage and 100% elf where Yen is only like 1/4. Just a guess. Just make it make sense CDPR (either way)

No matter what everyone says, I think we can trust (and especially since Cyberpunk) CD Projekt to make a remarkable story and game.
After what happened to the Wheel of Time; I don't trust anything that has a stock price anymore.
Make geralt the protagonist and I will buy it!
I like how people complain about Ciri's looks, when the entire shtick of Witcher is that everyone lives in shit. Literally.
She's, by profession, a witcher now. She fights monsters knee deep in sewer water, how did you expect her to look?
I just want many many side quests
I wanted a game with Ciri as a main protagonist since i played with her in those sections in Witcher 3, her using spells for movement while also using the sword felt incredibly natural and satisfying and i personally hope they keep that movement system for Witcher 4. Plus she looks badass, older sure but still great. Im patiently waiting for the game in probably 2-3 years time
