- the Waverly Hills Sanitorium first opened its doors on July 26, 1910, as a two-story wooden structure built to house about 50 patients. By October of 1926, the hospital had expanded to its current 400-hundred-bed capacity to accommodate a continual influx of patients.
Because of the highly contagious nature of the disease, extreme quarantine measures were required for patients and staff alike, meaning Waverly Hills had to function as an island unto itself. The self-sufficient facility produced its own food, raised animals, and ran a functioning post office.

It's okay dude, we all know that you got your nose deep into some spooky ass shit!!! You're practically the first person that got me into watching paranormal stuff, when I honestly kinda stopped believing in it. I knew spirits were real but, I didn't know to this extent and honestly it kind of puts me at ease knowing these things... I appreciate the work that you do, I know it all started with Edd and Lorraine. But it's people like all of you ghost investigaters who are paving the way to actually bring us closer to the veil, not just unraveling mysteries but spirits elementals or even the demonic entity's... Which I'll be honest I know that you're still iffy about that. But what's out there, the connection with the other side that for the people that don't understand. Or just run away dismiss it as a an illusion or psychological disorder. When you give it a name and scientifically show that things aren't right. I know you guys go out of your way to prove or disprove any of those things. I know out there are faker's who lie for views and likes. I get the real sense of fear the urge to continue forth out of the prue thirst for knowledge. The bravery to go out to these places not only putting your life that risk with buildings or places being abandoned or run downed or damaged or even people who live out there that lurk who are neither sain or personally do horrible things to other human being for enjoyment. I didn't know how far it can go until I watched "the paranormal files", "twin paranormal", "Seth Borden" or the "overnight channel". I freaking love all of you guys you make me want to learn and understand more!!! But please just stay safe out there... Plus send my kind regards to your Papa and Mama Spook and you're amazingly caring wife Courtney!!! ✨🌹

That ball bouncing by you and echoing down that tunnel is one of the CREEPIEST things I’ve ever felt THRU THE TV SCREEN!!!
I would have started to cry from fear and excitement with that ball bouncing. A good chance it was the train, but still creepy when you are in dark 😂

To clarify your story of room 502, the nurse was NOT married, the doctor was. So theory is the Dr. killed the nurse to keep his infidelity a secret. There are also rumors that the nurse hung herself in room 502. That floor was the children's ward. They had an indoor & outdoor roof play area that still had the play ground equipment on it when I visited a few years back that was absolutely terrifying to say the least lol. I actually caught a child's voice on EVP that said "find me" after I invited the children to play hide and seek with me lol!!
I think it's crazy that room 502 is the most active. The area code for Louisville is 502! Coincidence, who knows, but telephones are portals in a sense;therefore, that room could be a portal. I'm reaching here, but it's just a thought that hit me one night.

Sometimes, their energy seems to cause a bit of awkwardness when they're with others. I think it's because they are so used to doing things their own way that they forget other people don't always get what's going on OR there's also the fact that the goofiness they bring isn't always to the people they're with's liking and it seems to get a bit awkward at times because of that as well. I adore the twins (and Wyatt ofcourse) and personally think they're just wonderful and always have a huge smile on my face while watching them, especially during intros while they're just being their goofy ass selves. ❤

I did an overnight here with the overnight channel. It was so fun. Such a cool place. I also went alone at 3am and walked around. Nothing happened but it was the scariest thing I've ever done.

I kinda agreed. I used to think they're not so good but now i watched them daily.
What people don't take the time to realize is that, for every hour in the final investigation that gets posted, there are SO many hours where they get no responses/results, & that footage ends up "on the cutting room floor" as the saying goes.
There's so much truth to this. I've been to some active places, and often we end up getting no interaction at all for long periods of time.

No stats required, but I do know A LOT of investigators say the same thing. That they could be at a place for AGES & it takes a long time to get evidence. Even filming some locations over a few days just to get a 45min video. I know I couldnt do what they do. I'd be falling asleep and not catching anything other than the flu. It would be such a hard job to do.

I’m from Kentucky and have always wanted to see Waverly. Closest I’ve gotten is the guard at the entrance when we were aimlessly driving around 😆 It’s super expensive for the public unless you have a large group. It’s so interesting to see though. Thanks for taking us back!!

For the record I have not watched this video yet. As someone who grew up in Louisville with Waverly basically in my backyard, it is NOT an asylum. The title is intentionally misleading. The term "sanatorium" has nothing to do with mental illness. It comes from the word "sanitary". It literally means a clean place, a place dedicated specifically to the treatment of chronic illness. I apologize if I'm ranting about this, I've just seen so many people misconstrue this term and it always bothers me.

@@callum5208 That's correct! It was built as a tuberculosis hospital before they found a cure for the disease. It was actually a very cutting-edge facility for its time. Many people did recover there, but many died as well.

17 minutes: the discussion regarding what they see, and how they perceive us is so true! I have also often wondered, when we dream we are in a particular place, do the people there at the time of our dream experience paranormal activities? Are we effectively ghosts in our sleep?
I thought about if they think we’re ghost but like the music box for example, people ask for them to go infront of it and then it goes off, like intelligent responses. Do they see the objects or are just guessing if we are the “ghost” to them you know? So I think the theory of us being their ghosts has to many flaws but them seeing the world kinda like their world when they died kinda seems legit for non intelligent spirits were it’s like they are in a loop not interacting with the living. I think it depends how they died or accept their death. Sorry kinda long rant

Um to actually clarify that rumor on room 502 she was a happy nurse working nighttime shifts with the kid. She started working there because when her little sister was 15 years old she got TB and so when the opportunity to work that the hospital opened up she jumped into it. But anyway she was happily working night shifts taking care of the kids who were 5 to 10 years old when all of a sudden she was attacked by an unknown male, raped her and then choked her to death.. and her name isn't Vicky its actually Sarah. If you go watch the tour guide they tell you the same story everytime and they keep on getting the same thing from the devices years and years after the fact. And she was a vergin until up to that point..she didn't scream because she didn't want to wake up the children 😭😥 still sad and when asked "why don't you go to heaven?" Sarah will say "this is my heaven"
The spirit said Stewart but I believe it meant to say Steward. Stewards(Head Steward) were often the headmaster of a facility, hospital or an estate and were know in those times to be hard nosed....The child said something about being scared of that person......just a thought...the voice said you were mis understanding it...

The noise at about 21 mins sounds like tires screeching. You guys getting lost in the haunted house and then running into TP lost in there too was everything. That would absolutely happen to me. lol. The ball coming down the body tunnel would be so creepy in the moment! Though, depending on how close the train is, it could theoretically vibrate the ball forward. Don't you know you should never take something from a haunted location? LOL!!!!!!! You should have let TP use the ball to see if it happened to them! That would have been cool. def loved the vibe from the spirits and their communication. Not the usual "spooky" and "threatening" but sweet and friendly. Love that!
