      I actually thought it wasn't a great look. IMO Marques displays an Apple-bias when talking about tech, and sometimes he comes off as an Apple-fanboy, or at the very least not knowing what the competition is doing/has done in areas where Apple is just entering.
      The most notable/recent example was with the Vision Pro. Everything about it mirrored HoloLens' release (pricing, availability, etc.) but he failed to mention that at all. Someone who follows tech should have connected that back to Alex Kipman getting fired and then a majority of the HoloLens team jumping ship to other companies.

    Im using the "double tap" feature on my 2020 Watch SE. It is actually more advanced than what they presented, because i can tap to go forward, double tap to go backward and make a fist to confirm current item. However, it often confuses all the gestures, going forward when I want to go backwards and vice versa. Your analogy about the self-congratulatory nature of doing something good, but on camera, is on point. There is one aspect you missed though - inspiration. If you do something good without an audience good happens, if you do something good and others are inspired by it you perpetuate good. My hope is that there is some meaningful aspect of Apple's environmental marketing spin that truly means to inspire other large corporations to move in this direction.

      It is actually regulations that make the real difference environmentally. But at least Apple is showing it is possible. Great the watch is carbon neutral. Yet they still flew people to the event and promoted high emissions adventure travel that likely included flying. They have a long ways to go to show real leadership that will actually make a big difference.

    • @ninjaex650
      @ninjaex650 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The thing about regulations is that they do not inspire for the right reasons. I maintain that inspiration and leadership in the sector is going to prevail as the dominant motivator to others, not “Do good or else”.
      Great points on the impact of transportation though. I thought Apple did well during the early stages of the pandemic with the remote keynotes. It’s hard to sell products “influencers” can’t get their hands on to influence though.

      I would like to see how they respond to the idea of tackling consumerism, because lower consumption is generally a green choice.
      So instead of completely new phones annually, maybe think of other solutions that can still keep the company economically healthy, consumers happy and result in less product consumption and waste.

      @@Dunkingsonnwell good luck having these multi billion profit seeking companies ditch consumerism. It's like the US government pushing for everyone to buy electric cars but refusing to improve public transportation which is leaps and bounds more efficient.

      lol let's be honest, they produce under slave like conditions in Asia and their complete sales staretgy relies on upselling and constantly reselling a slightly better device from year to year, repairs without professionals' help is basically impossible, none of what they do is ecofriendly or sustainable

    Funniest thing I’ve seen this week: TH-cam ran a Microsoft ad in the middle of your presentation! 🤣 As if I was going to go looking for something from Redmond to buy. 🙄🤣
    Congrats on the shoutout from Tim! Very cool, and he obviously respects and values your opinion. 👍👍

    Marques (and everyone else in The Studio), I really appreciate your dedication to quality content, quick turnarounds, and remaining fairly neutral on a lot of topics. I come mostly for the Apple coverage, but it's cool to see the other things as well, and you guys treat them all with the same kind of respect. So glad you were able to do all this stuff for the Apple event last year. Can't wait to see what's next for this year's iPhone event.

    Love this review. Although there's a flash frame cut at 4:49. I wish TH-cam was like Vimeo and it allowed you to replace the video.
