I LOVE seeing assists pop up. Especially when someone just got away or if if it's while i'm in respawn.
I’m only plat 5 but my highest has been diamond 2. And I play four player split screen with my siblings in ranked. And their low plat to high gold and I notice the biggest problem they have is over extending and pushing when down teammates. Their getting better, but it takes time. I like how you explained and pointed out mistakes that Plat and Gold players make myself included. And I’ve noticed that I just can’t break back into Diamond.
you can do it man, it takes awhile to really lock in fundamentals and even with my rank at high diamond / onyx you can see that i STILL make those mistakes too. keep at it. practice with purpose! :)

I definitely play far too aggressively. I often come away from games with a fairly high kill-count compared to my teammates, but my deaths are practically always nearly as high as my kills. So really my high kill count isn't doing the team favours because I'm also giving away so many kills.

plat players really need two big things. 1 have a plan of actions. being prepaired for somehting will always go better than being suprised in halo. ex " a teamate is chasing someone let me set my self up to look where they are going even if its just 1 shot across the map. " and 2 plat players and below are BAD at using the map around them espically on mnk. most people 1st step into this is look for nades. But the other guns and equiptment all have stranghts to play around. Get map pressure and use those tools for what they are good at.
what most plat players do is just run out and shot at anything that moves they dont make a plan on every life starting with making a plan is priority number one
absolutely I have plenty of points on building for a longer video about progression from plat mmr but it is a ways off yet

Very glad this video was uploaded. I recently JUST hit onyx, and I want to improve my game and take it to the next level. It's really insightful hearing your thought process in regards to positioning, awareness, and in general your gameplay.
I'm glad even at onyx you can benefit from gameplay in platinum... I'm stuck at 1490 wall atm been there 7 times

This was very helpful. I'm Gold 5 and starting to play Halo Infinite after a good 15 year hiatus. It's been a big transition from playing Halo 2

Thanks, great content. Keep it coming! I solo Q and always high plat / low diamond. Some games I popoff but I usually evaluate personal performance by damage done and shots fired. Sometimes that means 20 assists, sometimes it means 20 kills. I noticed a big thing: I usually have 1.5-2x more shots fired than my team. Imo its a big part of laying down pressure and forcing enemy to make mistakes. Keep the content coming. 👍
a good comment and mindset. alot of people focus on accuracy but in actual fact pressure and prefired shots are important to secure angles or map areas. especially when the game counts the repulsor as part of your accuracy calculation or so it's been said. thanks for commenting!

I love assists. I always try to get aleast 10 per game. Giving damage and me staying alive. I always work for KDA and then objective usually follows same suit.
if you look at higher ranked players the common denominator is a high KDA not necessarily a high KD
One game I was last on my team in terms of K/D, was 5 and 10 i think.. but had 17 assists. Laid down a lot of cover fire and actually did the most damage out of everyone. And we won.

I’m diamond 2 but my biggest problem is def over extending too much. I play with my buddy who is onyx and get shit on pretty often but I always do hella damage and get tons of assists. Part of my problem is onyx players just don’t miss as many shots as I do but I feel like that’s not the only reason. You got any tips?
that tends to be knowing when to retreat and also where you can and cant be flanked from. sometimes though the pieces move in a way that means you eventually will have to die and how you have to play your life matters more.

assists are showing either 1 or 2 things
you're helping team mates OR you're losing alot of duels that team mates finish off. it's hard to tell which is happening without idea evidence but 2 assists for 1 death is usually worth it for map pressure and objective control.
you shouldn't throw your life away but you should play it to help win
My highest has been plat 5. After the reset now im a plat 3 and struggling to stay in plat 4. Every time i get there i start losing multiple games in a row. But i try not to discourage myself. Quite often theres diamond lvl players on the other team and i do better than them in all ways. So if i just keep trying hopefully i will get that diamond rank i truly want.
make sure you're actively trying to improve in one way or another and it will come to you and if there is anything I can do to help then please let me know.
@@VanadamYT i took a good hour to dial in my controls till i was perfecting spartan lvl bots with the sidekick as well as adjusted my move settings till strafing felt much better as well. Now im past plat 4 easy and going into plat 5 now that im finishing way more kills than before. Just had to find what was natural for me rather than taking recommended settings. Everyones controller is a lil different. Yesterday i was getting alot of players one shot but wouldnt finish. Now its dialled in im getting more proper 4 shots and feels really good. Thank u tho
rarely see top players willing to analyze lower lobbies, they fail to understand majority of the population are in lower lobbies. this was top notch content, but I’ll say this. lower ranked lobbies are cracked, halo fundamentals don’t apply. it’s beautiful chaos. if you would be soo willing , I’ll love to send u my replay if u decide to analyze it.

How is your hit detection perfect on 144 ping?
that's my frame rate:) If you play on xbox, I don't think you can have the setting so that may be where your confusion came from.

@brianmeeker5786 sorry buddy. in essence halo net code is basically bad haha. there is preferential treatment based on location usually called "lag compensation" in not a network engineer but basically it can cause either really good or really bad hit detection and results in common scenarios usually referred to as desync :)
@@VanadamYT so they over compensate to fix the ping and cause the player with better ping to dsync is what it seems like. Before the update I never had issues. This season my cursor is on their head and the shots don’t register. It’s great lol
People hate getting assists be ause they're selfish. They just want to be at the top of the score board. Nothing else matters
it's a big thing I go over when I coach players. alot of effective things you do don't always translate to the scoreboard.

Breaking out of plat is just a matter of partying up with people who aren't vegetables. Solo-queueing for that is hell. I've been there and done that.
Better yet devote time to a Halo game that's actually good.
I get the sentiment here but I have to disagree somewhat.
any time I've played an account in platinum I have immediately flown through it due to abusing errors those players make by acting as a bodyguard for my team as platinum players have a bad upstanding of game flow pressure and positioning
though going with friends definitely helps for sure
@@VanadamYT I understand the idea of exploiting the average weaknesses of platinum players, but when you end up in matches where players are downright refusing to put in the flag (even though the coast is clear), not playing the ball when they should, or just plain ignoring the main objective, there is not much else to do. Fact is that you'll burn through ranks with a party of humans instead of gambling with the matchmaking system and praying you don't get total bots on your team (you will).
It's even worse when you start getting losing streaks due to getting dropped in partial matches or just veritable incompetence from your teammates. Probably a solid 75% of my losses are because of this.
TLDR:Team shooting wins games more than cracked aim or movement does. If people die twice as fast as you do they can't kill you as much.

assists win the game 100%. 2v2 the team that focuses fire wins the firefight every time
Meh moving as a group and hugging the edges of the map is boring. Combine this gameplay with a locked up map and the game will time out cuz both teams are just camping and every player has a power weapon. Just trade deaths with the best guy on the other team and you'll win and it's way more fun
it was a slow moving stack fest in some places but hopefully this video shows players that you can be aggressive in a calculated way to secure leads. thanks for commenting.
