What's with all of the hillbilly armor around the back side? Am I mistaken or did someone cut out the turret with a plasma torch on the top? It is quite obvious that this poor thing was abused from the previous videos I have been watching. This truck was obviously a swimmer in its past life with zero maintanace. River stones around the back seat mount, sand in every nook and cranny, corroded cannon plugs and sockets. Stainless hardware is the way to go for some parts but one must be careful when using stainless fasteners on aluminum body parts. Corrosion by electrolysis is a major issue here. I am glad to see this is a family project! I hope your son has plans at joining the Corp when he becomes of age. Best thing that ever happened to me but I started a lot later. Still I can't believe how they tore up the body for odd antenna mounts, I know that regulation mounts were available and still are if one wants to mount antennas on the back.
Enjoy all of your posts. Is this a project a non mechanic could tackle? Would like as a weekend car in Texas. Which model would you recommend? Thanks again
Thank you once again for this detailed video! What do you remove at time 09:43? Is it some kind of registration plate? Sorry, i do not know it in Germany
Looking good! Tried to send you a few pics of my Hummer's tube doors, etc. Also some info on an aluminum slantback kit (not Plan B) that I had, just in case you're considering that route. But, your Gmail is full.
As a father of two kids like yours the best part of this project is doing it with the kids !

I like your movies it helps big time. How do you keep all the bolts together don’t you lose a lot of them?
Yes, label everything and keep it together
Thanks!
Nice stanless hardware. I was going to suggest such ;)

Non-mechanic?? I mean you can learn as you go for sure! Label everything! I would be a humvee 99-up
@@SplitBuilds I am pretty handy with home renovations just don’t have much automotive experience. Thus the question.
if you have a farm supply store near you they will have the bolts a lot cheaper than Lowes
Tractor supply is way more expensive
@@SplitBuilds must be the location they are much cheaper here than Lowes
Before paint, consider filling holes like removing reflecters or unnecessary holes from accessories

I removed the turn signal cover, and the IR (infrared) reflector off the front.
How long did your EUC take to clear? I've been waiting 4 weeks now.
Shoot took like 12-13 weeks
Those rubber mounts for the headlights look just like older sportster oil tank mounts....just sayin :)
I’ll check
