Ive been doing momigami for years… but have never painted the paper first… ill have to try that next! However, for those who add oil or lotions, keep in they all have limited shelf life and will, in time go rancid and stink up the piece ………. Thats why i use Mineral oil because it never go rancid.
Go for it and thank for for the info
What is Minerl oil? 🤔
@@bleu1104 think is was supposed to say mineral oil. And I think its an oil that don’t get rancid.
@@bleu1104Baby Oil from the supermarket (for babies) is a mineral oil and easy to find.
Hello from Toronto, Lisbeth thank you for your Momigami technique. Usually, I use coconut oil, just a tiny bit on my hands to mush the papers. I let it dry and then painted the papers. Next time I will try the way you do it. My hands get stiff as well, I have Ostearterithis. Thank you for your tutorial.
Thanks and good luck trying my way
Thank you
You’re welcome
I just received an early birthday gift from my son and saved the beautiful gold craft wrapping paper to include in some art and your video about momigami is perfect timing. I learned about it in lockdown from the channel of British artist Louise Jannetta and made some from a few types of paper. I just made a first small piece and it will be beautiful to use in some collage. Thank you for the reminder of this technique!
You’re welcome. I know Joe of her work and I like it
I love making Momigami too. You can use any lotion, oil or even hair conditioner to make the paper softer and more like fabric. I believe technically it does become fabric. It will also deepen the colors and some papers become translucent. ❤️
Thanks for the info, I am sure others will use your idea but I don’t like greasy papers and oil on my hands.
That’s why I shared the info for others. And oily hands is yuck for a lot but lotion and hair products don’t feel as slick 😁
I can’t wait to get home to try this paper trick! Thank you, Lisbeth!
You’re welcome
Toujours aussi inspirante. Merci beaucoup pour ces échanges 😊🧡
You’re welcome
I love this way of doing momigami, I have not done it before because I didn’t like the idea of using oils or lotions, so thank you this is perfect ❤
You’re welcome, like you I don’t like to get oil on my fingers
A most interesting video, Lisbeth. I've taken notes and will sit this afternoon and create! I am going to enjoy this transformation of the paper. Thank you.
Go for and enjoy the process, you’re welcome
This was what I needed. An easy way to do momigami. Thanks for share ❤
You’re welcome
Love the papers. I knew your papers were special. Please show us more painted paper techniques.
Thank you, I mostly use a gel plate for making interesting papers, there is a playlist on that subject
Thank you so much for this demo. I'm going to try it! Love the papers!
Go for it, thanks
They look great, I have made some in the past.
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you for this demonstration! I pulled a few papers from magazines that are sturdier (non-shiny) pages and I'm hoping that I get a good result. I also really liked the ink trick that you showed on the wax paper. I ♥ wrinkled paper
You’re welcome
As always, this video is inspiring! Thank you!😊
You’re welcome
Thank you, Lisbet.
You’re welcome
As always, i love your work, and will use this idea today…. Its just what i need for a collage piece in a book I’m working on Thank you!
Thank you and nice you can use the idea
Thank you! Very involved process.
🙏
Thank you for this tutorial!
You’re welcome
Thank you I will give it a try.
Go for it 😊
Could you use a gelli plate to give the papers a coat of paint? I have done this spraying the paper with water and glycerine. It was quite thick brown paper and it turned out like leather! Never knew the name. 😊⭐️🇦🇺🦘
You can do this so many different way, this is just the way I do it. But of course you could use your gel plate. I my case I just like the painted papers better, even though I love my gel plate
Love the colors!
@@cherylschliske5811 thank you
I use hand lotion that is non-greasy and fragrance-free and it works beautifully.
Take care if you are unfortunate it can rancid
@@lisbethdegn-dragenkunst You know what, I had NO idea that can happen, and I just looked it up and lotions, once they reach the expiration date can be subject to bacterial and fungal growth. Wow, I did not know that. So now I wonder if I should discard all the papers that I have turned into "fabric" using lotion. 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Thank you for the info.
@@qso3566 if you want to use something, use mineral oil. I would try to use them for my own things, but nerve in something you sell
.
Thx for sharing 💐🫶🤎🦊🦊🤎

I use gardening gloves to crumble the paper, cause it really hurts😉
Thanks for the advice, others may use your idea, but my hands are fine without 😊
