SO excited to pick up a new ninja 400, Saving right now and getting relatively close! As an auto mechanic it always makes me laugh when moto guys are saying its a BIIIIGGG job. everything working on motorcycle looks SOOOOO much easier than cars XD
Wish I would have got the 400 as my first bike. Instead I have a 250. Still buying a 400, as my first track bike. Will probably upgrade to a 636 for track, and keep 400 as a daily. A 400 is all you really need for the streets, without being tempted to do way more than you should. SOOO much attention should be put into your safety street riding, compared to the temptations on a 600+, drawing, or limiting that attention.
Just figured I'd add this as I'm watching the video. I took all the plastic off my 2018 really easily. So just dive into it, mark some bags or boxes and put your screws in the right bag or box. Pretty easy.
you're doing really nice man, i liked the video. however, i wish the music was much more quiet (or your voice much louder when you speak). i found myself turning sound wheel back and forth like mad :D p.s. tail looks amazing!
It's probably fine to try to remove that bolt without removing the seat, but all you have to do is pull a cable when you already have the passenger seat off.

It's an 04,SV-650 with freaking 3,970 miles on it lol. It looks like it's right off the showroom floor. Oh and it's 3200 bucks. I wanted to ask all you seasoned riders if that's a good deal or if I'm getting greazed lol? One thing he left out when installing the frame sliders.... Do not take both engine bolts out at the same time. Take one out at a time or your engine might drop and you will have to lift it up to get the holes to align. He also said there in no torque ratio's for those bolts. Not sure if that is correct. Waiting on an email from the manufacturer to see if these engine bolts need to be torqued to a specific. will update later.

Just put on Woodcraft sliders on yesterday. Taking the fairings off took maybe 5 minutes. And guy, take off the seat. It takes 2 seconds to pull the loop under the pillion
I love the soldering. On my personal cars I ditch connectors for soldering oftentimes. certain connectors, especially older ones or aftermarket, are just not that reliable.
Yes, twelve volts cannot push past crimp connections long term. Solder , shrink tube lasts forever. I have repairs I made nearly 50 years ago still working perfectly.
I HATE removing plastic fairings. One of the main reasons I bought a KTM 790 Duke after my experience with my 2011 KLR 650, and why I just bought a 2019 Royal Enfield Continental GT. Still have the KLR but it is not a pleasant machine to work on if you need to remove the body work.

Idk about the 400. But i have the 250cc version and it is worth it. :) Why? Because i have a sport bike look, fast around it class, and yet so comfortable for riding in the city or touring. The issue for me (250cc) are just the low rpm too slow, you must mid-high rev it to get a better start after traffic light. And the seat i think not so comy after 2-3 hours riding, it always getting hot. But my first issue now better because i change the exhaust to full system aftermarket exhaust and change the clutch plate and clutch spring with racing one. Because the clutch is very light at standart, my modification just made the clutch a bit hard/heavy but not as heavy as old ninja 250 i guess. Thats my opinion. For a better feel try it yourself. :)

Do you need to use loctite on the frame slider bolts?
