Steve is kindly giving you his personal language here. If you want to come up to Steve´s level and create your own language, write your own phrases down. Then you are on the way to being a player with a personal voice. As did Hawk through to Joe Henderson , Lovano ,Steve Coleman, etc. The more you have your own voice, the more you will come on the radar of the people with the wherewithal to put you on the international scene.

Steve, I think you have been misreading my comments. They’re not negative; they are an attempt to further elucidate. Having seen in others (and experienced in
myself), sometimes the language is difficult to fully understand. I will look up the time stamp later vis-a-vis the Db concert/Eb tenor keys.

That’s possible - let me know where the confusion was when you have time. Thanks.

Hey Steve... Have you ever played with Greg Osby? Do you know him?

I haven't played with him but my friend Josh Quinlan has and knows him pretty well. Greg is awesome!

@@SaxophoneSteveKortyka Awesome! Ive been listening to him and Steve Coleman and Im just about ready to give up, man.. Brutha, these streets are cold and DANGEROUS. Im going to make this announcement on one of his videos and see what funny thing he has to say. xD

He is speaking in concert key, even though he refers to “tenor key”. In an Eb blues the IV would be Ab, not Gb.

Yes sometimes I made mistakes with the transpositions but for the most part what was written on the page was pretty clear no? Sorry your one take away from this video was that I got a chord wrong lol

@@SaxophoneSteveKortyka Definitely NOT the only takeaway; just helping folks who might get confused. The tritone sub can be difficult to “grok”, so students really need clarity. Your stuff is excellent (just a nod to the potential confusion).

@@Osnosis Ok great thanks for clarifying. Over the years all I have seen from you is what appears to be negative comments, my apologies. I think your comment here is making things more confusing - where did I say Gb in the video? In the Eb Blues segment I am talking in the tenor key throughout and identify the IV as an Ab...
