Very underrated method! Edgar Byars showed me this while I was at Frost. You have inspired me to work on this more often again! It really does help with memorizing chord changes, as well. It is like a super vitamin (credit to Patrick Bartley for that analogy) - something with multiple benefits!

Thanks Nathan! Yeah man I’ve been doing this since I started learning originals and tunes with tricky chord changes. Underrated method master !!!

I'm a new jazz tenor saxophonist at my local community college.
In high school, I never really practiced much.
But strangely now I've been bitten by the bug. And I want to learn how to get good at this.
It's like a never ending nagging challenge. Classical music doesn't train you for this.
Thanks a bunch for these tutorials!

Hi Steve… this seems very basic, but it is EXACTLY what I need!! Information like this is so helpful as I try to learn (and learn how to learn) jazz language. Thanks for this!

Great video, but when I tried to access your website my antivirus program blocked it, saying it was infected with some kind of HTML virus or malware...:(

Hey - so sorry about this! I am a mac user and wasnt able to recreate it on any of the browsers I use- is it possible that your PC might have a virus? Sometimes these things clear up in a few days so please check back or try another browser in the near future. I hate when these issues happen!

@@SaxophoneSteveKortyka Thanks. No, my computer is clean. It's a pc, not a mac. But I know that sometimes these antivirus programs are overly sensitive. I'll try again in a couple of days...

By the way, what it said it was infected with is called "HTML:ClearFake-C [Trj]", whatever that is...
