Composed by Callum Anderson Jan/Feb 2021. ‘Covid-19’ theme by N. Papadimitriou. Performed and recorded by Callum Anderson. Harpsichord by William Dowd (1976)
Been listening to this since this video was published. People I have shown this to were convinced they were listening to Bach, Händel, or Scarlatti. I can see why; such clever music!
Extremely nice work, very close to Rameau if my perception is right. Especially the one Variation after the Andante reminds me of his Opera “Les Indes Galantes” more precise, the “Air pour les sauvages”
Nice use of Baroque idioms performed with stellar expression. Dance-like and filled with spirit, as music like this should be. Performed on a lovely instrument.
I'm so glad to have such a great genius with so creativity and passion in my time. This piece is simply wonderful, and really reminds me one great past masterpiece. Excellent work, simply wonderful.
it is really very fine piece of music, i even noticed a few dances for example allemande in 7th variation i think, ang gigue in 11? Beautiful. Great respect. You must have not only great music taste but also a great knowledge. Thank you for this piece!
i feel like i lost my drive to overcome a playing injury and get back to music... but your compositions are inspiring me to get back to it! (Are any of your pieces on musescore)?
Please, may you give access to partition? And I would like to see this song and variations in FLAC format to buy, try Spotify ou even Apple Music, I would purchace it!!!
I did not know that there were so many Covid-19 mutations but I don't need an anti-dote for these delightful variations :-).
LOL!!! 😂
There are as many variations of the theme as covid strains
Thank you for sharing your excellent music.
You possess a wonderful facility with this style. Excellent playing too!

Wow, 13 is great! LIke a mix of d'Anglebert, Frescobaldi, and Froberger!
Bravo! Could stand alongside anything of Handel without a blush.

shadows and ghosts of Versailles 💕
Variation 13 is my favorite. :-)
These E major harmonies are unexpected 😳
Really excellent piece of music!
I also love the way you write with your own handwriting.

@@matim7549 I also believe that Variation 13 could be reminiscent of a Sarabande, excluding the 4/4 meter.
var 17 reminds me of a gavotte
Damn, this is good. Bach blesses you.
No 13! 'Prelude non mesure' in Louis Couperin style 💕
Wow! Beautifully composed and executed.
This was really fun! I Like your handwriting :)
Thank you
I love the sneaky Bach motif starting at 10:51;)
Marvelous!
Kind regards from Brazil, 💚💛
This is amazing!!! Great job, truly ingenious counterpoint, and sublimely imitative of the Baroque style. Well done! Beautifully written, too!

What Pen are you using?
Was wondering the same. I think that it must be a flex nib fountain pen or maybe a music nib
This is so sick.
Why can’t more composers alive today compose like you!! This truly sounds like Bach could’ve written this it’s amazing.
sometimes the harpsichord sounds so much better than piano, at least in this style, it's just more fitting.
Splendido
2:24 gave me strong Rameau
