I am deffo a fan of the design as a toy although I have the standard version that doesn't have the additional sound effect when the emmitter comes out or when the eye peice slides out but overall very nice toy just wish it looked more like a sonic screwdriver in the show
As a sci-fi prop I think the design is gorgeous and would be perfect for characters like Rogue or other space and time travellers to possess, but as a sonic screwdriver design it’s atrocious 😂
Might honestly have been much more appealing if it were another characters gadget, they could have easily done a more screwdriver-esque shape for the doctor and still put in fold out lense gimmicks or a scalpel/lockpick or whatever really. Make it a sonic-multi-tool rather than a screwdriver, but still with the same old shape.
one of my favourite elements of this sonic is the lights. there's an incredibly subtle difference between the blue colour of the lights on the initial press of the first sound effect and when the whirring sound starts. Such a minute attention to detail that I think perfectly displays how much effort they've put into this.
I'll personally be calling mine a Sonic remote most likely, but I love it a lot! This is the only video I could find showing off the secret master sounds and lights, can't wait to get my hands on mine.
To the people complaining about it not being shaped like a screwdriver, I imagine they’ve changed it to look more like a handheld computer to move away from the magic wand comparisons
8:28 having an electronic sound when any action is performed. I always like whenever props does something like that it makes you feel like you’re actually doing something rather than just hearing a plastic chunk noise or anything like that.

Okay so I’ve just received my Sonic Screwdriver and wow! But you’ve also missed out a sound. During the alternative mode with the green Chrystal, there is a second sound effect. If you click the main button twice, it makes a regeneration like sound effect!
Well, they've taotally f***ed up this once Classic Tv Institution, so the fact that they reworked the iconic sonic screwdriver to look like the sole of a shoe....I suppose was inevitable!!

Glad to see Matt survived watching good man goes to war to be able to do this review 😂 I too don’t like the design but think it’s an excellent toy and a great replica. Can’t wait to get it as I love to have sonics sitting beside me that I can fidget with.
I really don't like the new Sonic, it's used more like a Tri-corder now. Don't get me wrong it looks nice as a toy but it's lost its original use. The B&M release will have a less shiny paint job.
Not sure if I should go for thus version or the standard one buti know with the standard one it will not come with the laser screwdriver sounds which I don't mind not having on this sonice and I've heard the deluxe version is about £35 -£40 and the standard one is £25
I know there a tradition and theming that this design goes against... but its just so clever and 90 chic. But mostly, the sonic screwdriver has always been a bit absurd, they're honestly more akin to magic wands than a screwdriver. I'm not to hard up on this and this translation to physical form is pretty clean.
Makes me wonder when CO will release the pink and yellow versions, seeing as how a colour change feature for the casing couldn't be integrated on this.

It took me a while but I've really come around on this design and I absolutely love the proverb.

So that second sound effect you are hearing in the "Laser Screwdriver" mode is the sound it makes when the Master "ages" up the Doctor!

They have done a very nice job with this toy, but personally not a fan of the design or the series, so not for me.
