I remember that one Doctor Who episode where for the first time ever a Dalek started hovering up the stairs, cause before that, it was like the best strategy to escape from them, I saw that and I was like "No way, the Daleks conquered stairs." It was so monumental to the show.
Still one of my favourite moments. Imagine being a Doctor Who fan, watching the oldest of the episodes and be like "Lol, thy are claiming to be supreme beings, but they won't handle uneven terrain" And when, you are watching newer series, laughing with the characters, because Daleks can't go upstairs. WHEN that thing will just say "elevate" and start flying. What a moment!

In the very first one they arrived in the Stone-age and met cavemen. Another early one was about insects. It was all meant well with the producers trying to fill the stories with suspense. Clearly the BBC didn't take long to realise that it wasn't working quite so well, introduced the daleks and have never looked back.

Well the daleks had such a profound effect on me as a kid.. 57 now and I still occasionally have nightmares about ... Daleks... The ultimate protagonists... Well loved and best remembered 'baddie' of all time..

My 17yo who is studying engineering and systems-tech has suddenly found Project Dalek, and is now talking of cleaning up the garage so we can make a Dalek... I foresee a great many weekends in the garage coming up...
honestly i'd love a doctor who episode where daleks try to blend into a convention, and even plant dalek designs in fiction of recent history, that way they strike at the precise moment in time where dalek cosplays become their most popular. then i could imagine a new dalek type getting introduce, where people willingly get in to pilot a fun, free use dalek model, only to get trapped in it and act as a hostage situation for the doctor to try and resolve
What would be a comedic idea for a fan movie would be "real" daleks teleport into a building where have people gathered including these imitation daleks, and massive confusion for everyone occurs.

Man I wanna make my own Dalek and attend one of these Dalek gatherings, that'll be *SOO* much fun!!!! . . . But I honestly don't know if Project Dalek can help me build my Dalek because of this simple premise --> He's one of the very first Daleks ever created in history and has continuously repaired & modified his casing every time it got damaged or a component was too old to work anymore. There's a lot more lore behind my Dalek, Dalek David is his name by the way, but that's the overly simplified general idea behind David, a Dalek who's still alive despite living past a Dalek's technically natural lifespan/cellular structural integrity.
Perhaps because green is such an iconic colour with a big British back story, ie British racing green, , maybe the producers didn't want to poke the bear or show disrespect . in all honesty... That's the 64 million dollar question.... That I'm sure some fan boy/girl out there may have the answer to
