I got the deluxe edition ahead of release due to the BBC shop putting it up for sale to early and they actually filled my order and I love it and I say it’s worth the price unlike the anniversary sonic we got last year where the extra settings aren’t a deal breaker for this one to me it just looks better in the deluxe edition
After Comic-Con, the leftover stock from the initial 1,000 Deluxe Editions was listed on the BBC Store in America, but they were only available for U.S. shipping and sold out in just a few days, so you definitely got lucky with that early listing! I got the Deluxe myself, the paint is lovely... but mine arrived damaged - there's a little patch missing near the rotating hinge point, and I imagine that's a risky location in general, it's a very tight tolerance. I bet the Standard has a lot more room to play with there, probably much lower risk of scraping anything.
Ah, that’s such a shame about the damage, especially with that beautiful paint finish on the Deluxe. 😕 You’re right, that hinge area is definitely a tight tolerance and seems prone to issues. The matte finish on the Standard probably holds up better in that regard. Hopefully, you can get it sorted, maybe contact Character for a replacement or try touching it up a bit yourself! These shades seem to be much closer to what is in the show and they seem less toylike and more restrained (well, or so it seems on camera). But the lack of sound from the loupe analyzer is a huge loss. And if it weren't for this fact, then we could say that the usual version is no worse in any way. But without it, the choice becomes much more difficult.

I would say that I would recommend the who shop, as they are selling the standard edition for £34.99, so not much difference in price between the standard and deluxe version, so some could feel slightly more cheated out of features paying this price , plus £8 postage. Id recommend Forbidden planet who are selling it for £24.99 for the standard version

I got that stand in a multi-pack on eBay! It’s actually meant for my fob watch, but I borrowed it for this video. It holds the Sonic okay, but it’s not the best fit. Little Shop Props recently released a dedicated stand for the 15th Sonic Screwdriver I got a few of them, and I’d definitely recommend those! They work great, thanks for watching 😎
I love this Sonic Screwdriver or Sonic Remote because it's a verry unic and verry complex version. It's verry Galifrenian. I don't like so much all episodes from Doctor Who season 14 but a lot of them are masterpiece in my opinion. The best part of this Doctor is that he sing and this is a great thing. I always wish a singer Doctor. And in season 14 he sing almost in every episode. I love that. My favorite episodes from season 14 are the episode with daughter of Toy Maker, Boom and the episode with Old Ruby Sunday who is a great episode in my opinion.

Hey mate, thanks for the watching! The Destiny of the Daleks collection video has been at the top of the list for a while, but with the recent surge in Sonic Screwdriver releases, they’ve taken priority. The script is done, and most of the Daleks are ready, I’m just waiting on a few neck extension parts from the latest History of the Daleks Revelation set. Once I get those and complete the modifications, they’ll be 100% done, and I can move on to filming the video. I do have a few Sonic Screwdrivers from LSP expected soon, so I can’t give an exact timeline, but you will see the Destiny of the Daleks video some time within the next few months. 😎

Great choice! The Deluxe Edition really does have that extra factor with the shiny paint and added features! There’s the standard Sonic sound, then the 'data sonic' sound, and finally a 'lifeform scan' sound apparently! 😂 Gotta love the creativity with these names. Thanks for watching!

It really depends on where you are and where you've ordered from. I preordered two Standard Editions, one from The Who Shop and one from Forbidden Planet. Both were initially set to ship around October 7th. However, The Who Shop received their stock early and started dispatching from September 27th, whereas Forbidden Planet hasn’t received theirs yet, so that order hasn't shipped. The Who Shop charge £34.99 plus postage, while Forbidden Planet was £24.99 plus postage. Even though The Who Shop was pricier, I ordered from both to ensure I'd get one early enough to make this video. 😊
Using the same packing , for both the Deluxe and th non deluxe version proved problematic , as some people got the Standard edition sent to them by mistake , and at the time Chracter options stated that they couldn't understand why , as at the time this was happening the standard edition shouldn't have even been in the country yet , this was around the same time that the Who shop stated that they had them in and were shipping them out . As for me I prefer the one that I got , and doubtless, ( as with the 14th dr sonic ), people will say that the standard edition is more screen accurate to the one used by Ncuti in the show ...

I heard about people receiving the Deluxe Edition in Standard packaging by mistake, which sounds like a factory mix-up, especially considering the Standard Edition wasn’t supposed to be available at that time. I totally understand your preference for the Deluxe though, it definitely has a more premium look. And you're right, the debate about which version is more screen-accurate has already started aha. Kinda regretting my collectors edition purchase now... The paint job seems much cleaner on the standard relaese, I've actively chosen to stop closely looking at my 'metalised' copy because the paint work is sloppy and scuffed in more places than I'd like for a £40 sonic screwdriver toy.
The matte finish on the Standard Edition definitely seems to have a cleaner look overall, and it’s probably more durable. Hopefully, you can still enjoy the Deluxe Edition despite the imperfections. At least you get those extra sound effects with the Deluxe, but I totally understand the frustration! Thanks for checking out the video! 😁
