Great series of videos. I also use urethane tires on my digital track and have been for about 3 years. Tonight, I tried the Windex that you demonstrated. Much cleaner than a lint roller or masking tape. I run Paul Gage urethanes. Since you said you have been cleaning the tires this way for many years, I wanted to ask if Windex does anything that may shorten the firepan of the tire?

I also run PG tires and love em. I have never had ANY ill effects on the tires using either the Windex or the Wd40. I've used Windex longer than the Wd40. Not even sure what got me to try Wd40. I think I had it on a rag one time and wiped the tire and couldn't believe all the stuff that came off it.

You'll be surprised at the dirt that will come off the tire. Make sure after you clean the tire to wipe off the excess or you'll be slippin and slidin for a lap or two.

are you going flat out all the time with no effort or are you having to control the throttle on the bends?

You definitely have to drive the cars. There is only a few places on the track where you can go full throttle and it's just for a second or two.

I'm looking for some rubber/urethane but don't know the size?
1/24 C7 Corvette Valvoline to start with.

Hey Greg, you're in luck with the C7's. They share the same size with many other Carrera 1/24 cars. CarreraSlots is my go to site for parts. These are the tires you need if you want urethanes. Stock rubber tires are getting harder to find as Carrera doesn't support parts anymore.

How do I determine what size tires are on my Carrera 1/24 cars?

What are you looking to do Greg? Are you looking for aftermarket tires? Stock Carrera tires are a hit and miss proposition, they stopped producing parts for their cars a few years ago but tires are still around. You need the part number for the tires found here (copy and paste) Just google the part number of the tires.

If you're looking for aftermarket tires Paul Gage Tires makes some great urethane tires (found on Ebay). Cincyslots.com also makes urethane and silicone tires. Both companies just use the car for tire sizing. Quite a few of the 1/24 cars use the same tire.
If you didn't know urethane tires are more forgiving on a dusty track and will still grip. Silicone tires grip excellent but require a very clean track for optimal traction
