Gene LeBell didn't work on the movie "Marked for Death". It was "Out for Justice". LeBell had previously worked on Seagal's "Hard to Kill". If it has happened prior to "Out for Justice" LeBell would have never been hired on to work on that movie. LeBell never worked on a Seagal movie after "Out for Justice". I heard the story the same year it happened from a friend who worked on that movie. LeBell choked out Seagal and that was Seagal's fault for acting like Joe Badass and taunting people. John Leguizamo, who worked with Seagal, has confirmed that Seagal acts like Mr. tough guy and had no problem hitting him.
But seriously, I think it's shameful that the Academy Awards don't have a category for stuntmen, these guys do things that are unbelievable, these guys are artists in their own right.
Worked 30 years in the industry... worked on 2-3 of Seagal’s films back in the day (as well as stunts with Lebell), Steven was a nut. Stuntmen I knew had horror stories about him. But based on what I experienced - everything people have said about him since fits what I experienced.
So that was definitely wrong and messed up of Seagal to hit Lebell in the balls when Gene went to just show him a choke. Then Lebell threw him on his back . Justified. But what isn't Justified are the lies for decades about Seagal passing out and shitting his pants. I was told those lies and was skeptical but the lies kept going. Smh at least Lambert came clean with this. I'd be interested in hearing what Seagal's bodyguards had to say as well.
Both sides apparently behaved badly. Also because Segal is not a big star anymore people feel free to attack him. I'm sure other loved mainstream actors also have diva like qualities, I guess egos caused bruised egos.
Most people in acting are narcissistic to some degree. Because other people are not good at this kind of work. Seagal's movies are hilarious to me, but I do watch them and I'd rather see his weird, formulaic-but-incoherent films than anything Marvel makes.
I was on the set of Marked for Death (Working title was Screw Face) doing camera work as a 1st AC. On the MfD set I did second unit. I know Steve from many shows we worked on together. He was one of the best stunt drivers in the business. Unfortunately second unit, at least my camera, was not there the day all this happened. When we came back Steve explained all of this the exact same way he just did in this video. Steve has no reason to lie or embellish. Sensei LeBell is quite the story teller if you know him. I have worked with him both as a student at LACC and when he was a stunt man on different sets. Gene loves an audience and having been around a long time in the Business he has a lot of stories. RIP Sensei.

I believe him because of a few things he said. We still park the trailers in the same pattern and he said "base camp" which is where we stay on set while "holding" areas are completely different areas mainly for BG, casting directors, etc. Also, the story he told matches what a certain "crewperson" told me on set on a different project I worked on last year. I won't name names out of respect for privacy, but it matches Lambert's story so yes, take his word folks.

this honestly sounds like the most credible version of all of them, its very detailed and nuanced. you can tell when someones bullshitting or exagerating
So Seagal could of ended this rumour at any point but it would mean him having to admit he got put on his arse so he'd rather just deny anything happened at all.
He didn't deny it, he just made it sound more friendly than it might've been. I've gotten into fights with people who tried to have me arrested afterwards but then went around town telling everyone how they 'kicked my ass, but we're cool, dogg.' It's how a lot of people are after they know they instigated something.
Seagal claimed in an interview that all he and Gene did was "stretch". Guess Seagal's ego wouldn't let him admit that he got man handled by good ol Uncle Gene.
@@rashidmartialarts9513 He even swore on his children that there was no altercation but there was because hitting someone in the groin is an altercation and LeBell´s answer on that also.
I never believed that Seagal soiled himself. Ive seen people choked a 100 times in BJJ class, never even heard of anyone losing control of himself like that.
So not much happened at all. One guy tried to show a hold on another guy. The guy reacted defensively and hurt the guy trying the hold. The only times when you hear about people Pooing themselves.. is if they either had a bad case of diarrhea... or if they were blackout drunk... where their poo was again.. in a diarrhea state, without them consciously able to hold it back. Do you really think anyone would film a movie, while they are in a state where they are about to have diarrhea ?! Would ANY martial artist, ask to do a DEMO, in that state ?! Ok. I should've started with this. I really liked the interview. It was well done! By continuation I meant 3 things. 1) At the end of the interview it said, "to be continued". Thus, I inferred a continuation. 2) At the end you started asking your guest about Seagall hitting his stuntmen too hard. Then it just dropped off. I assumed more would come of that. 3) At the end of the interview you said you would release several more sections that week (hence I inferred a continuation) but I didn't see any links in the description to any episodes that followed. Perhaps I misinterpreted all of that. It was a really great interview though. 👍
We don't care who won or lost. We want to know who the liar is. If this guy's story is true, then Gene Lebell is a fucking liar. When he was interviewed by Ariel Helwani, he said there were 30 people watching when the alleged story happened, but this guy said there were only 6 including himself, plus that there was no soiling in pant according to this guy.
Ganging up on Seagal has become a bit of a pastime for people. Some of it he definitely brought on himself IMO because of his attitude toward people and the number of BS stories he's told such as the story of sparring with Bruce Lee. Lee died in 1973 and Seagal did NOT know Bruce Lee. That said, when is enough enough? I don't even like the guy all that much chiefly because of a lot of those silly BS stories But when people talk as though Seagal is some sort of punk I think that's way over the top. I think he likely was a skilled martial artist when he was still heavy at it years ago. I'd say he still knows what he's doing but he's older and not in shape for any actual fighting.
Where did you hear that? Whoever told you that is a liar. He never said that at all except JCVD challenging Seagal to a fight in his home in Miami. Seagal backed down after JCVD confronted him over Seagal's hateful comments towards him.
@Transport King never heard about it being a wrestling match. Pretty sure Sly and Seagal are also NOT friends. I don’t believe he was desperate for Seagal to be in the movie. The guy isn’t a star anymore and hasn’t been for decades.

This story I’m about to tell is true. This happened in 1994. I was a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. I served with a fellow Marine last named Marcheso who was heavy into the striking martial arts. I think he had earned his black belt in one of the Karate styles/disciplines. Now this was during the time when Steven Segal was at his prime! I thought back then that Segal was the bomb as far as martial arts goes. Well anyway, Marcheso told me, and I don’t remember the context, he was present at some martial arts demonstration. This must have been this “set” that is being discussed. I don’t remember why Marcheso was there, but as he was a martial arts black belt and follower of the martial arts, he was present and watching Steven Segal demonstrate certain techniques. What he told me is that he saw an “old man” choke Segal and put him to sleep! I told him “bullshit”! I did not believe it. I couldn’t believe that an “old man” could do that to Segal. Judo and BJJ were not popular back then. It was the striking arts and Segals very unique Aikido style from ABOVE THE LAW that was popular back then. Van Damme was also the bomb, but Segal was in his prime. I never believed Marcheso! I thought he had made it up, but it was such a unique story. I never knew until just a few years ago that this “old man” was none other than the great Gene Labelle!! Marcheso was telling the truth!! This story came up again many many years later. The internet finally brought this story to light. But when Marcheso told me this story back in 1994, there was no way to verify anything. All these years later, now this all comes out! Amazing!
The truth is ALWAYS exaggerated some how or another. But most people just believe everything they here. Glad I got to hear the real story from someone who cares about the truth

Seagal probably didn't give permission for the chokehold and had that automatic reaction to the chokehold. It's sad to see how hated he is, the man appears to want respect but it keeps backfiring on him. Thank you for sharing all this information.
Great interview/story. I just woke up and had to hear it before I even had coffee. Edit: Joe Rogan needs to hear this. He spreads the rumor too, except with poop.
R.I.P. Mr. Lambert. He was truly a legend in the western stuntman circles. I remember hearing people sing his praises all throughout the 90s. Especially taking note of his driving skills. Seagal's 6'4 , Lebells roughly 5'11 how'd he choke him without breaking his balance to get him down to a size he could choke him.(without backpacking him or Seagal kneeling) I'm as useless as an ashtray on a motorbike grappling but the few times I've taken someone's back standing In a control/restraint situation was so close the person in front couldn't angle off because i had control of their neck and any movement tightened choke or took them to ground.

Wait by his own admission he left to get someone ergo he wasn’t there the whole time. I think Steve pooped himself. No one gets that bent out of shape and embarrassed over getting knocked out by a rear naked choke.
From the description it wasn't a rear naked choke, but rather a really nasty cross-arm leg sweep. That happened to me years ago while training, but he managed to put his arm at my chest, and get both of my legs so I corkscrewed, and fell with my arm slamming into my ribs. I was hurt for days after that. Either way it sucks for Seagal, but he well deserved it for pulling a chickenshit cheap shot like that. Moral of the story is he should just stick to beating women since he seems to be good at it.
This is so dumb, you literally have someone who was there and who spoke to someone who saw the whole thing, yet you still "think" you know what happened.
Mystwolfe Lambert CLEARLY points out there was no chokeout at all. There's more detail in the book, but Seagal tagged Gene hard in the nuts, Gene dropped in pain, but toughed through it and dropped Seagal on his back. Seagal (obviously upset) got back up and brushed it off like nothing happened. The bodyguards were told to relax and then Palmisano told them all to disperse. That's it.
The story I was told from someone in the industry in Hollywood at that time was he’d heard Seagal was choked out by LeBell, crapped himself and went to his trailer. Someone then came out, handed LeBell a check and said his services were no longer required.
Even Joe Rogan told the story of Gene saying Gene told him, that was pretty easy. If anyone made it blow up without trying Joe is top of the list following the fighters that like to tell the story.

Ganging up on Seagal has become a bit of a pastime for people. Amazing!

@@skycow3208 all know that Chuck Norris 6 time karate world champion,1968-1974.But the first world championship was in Japan in 1970,and the first full contact was in 1975.
@@zverev85 Exactly! Chuck Norris is bullshit. Point fighting isn’t fighting and back in the US those days, a “World Champion” is super common - even if the competition had 6 fighters, one would be the “World Champ”. They organized so many “world competitions” back then cos it was so profitable.
@@bertt1055 i think something about this.,there were many competitions which called world champ.for example Oleg Taktarov told that Lebell had not a real black belt in judo,he was only wrestler. And i believe it,because in 1960-1970,how you write me were very more tournaments with big titles.
This story is just as good as the choke story. LOL
Awesome stuff brother,Steven Lambert seems like a really likeable guy,and would be fun to hang out with, cant wait to see more of the interview.
Seagal didn't piss his pants because he crapped his pants, then ran to the nearest doughnut food truck.
I'm happy to hear someone who was actually there rather than the usual bulls*it factory of the rumor mill.
That's good to know. I despise Steven Seagal but it's nice to know the truth.
somebody needs to do an reenactment of this.
I'm sure alot of people wanna see this
Yeah, like Charlie murphy style reenactments!
Wait by his own admission he left to get someone ergo he wasn’t there the whole time. I think Steve pooped himself. No one gets that bent out of shape and embarrassed over getting knocked out by a rear naked choke.
I mean shit . Rear naked chokes happen. Just like shit 😁😜🤣
Yeah but his friend Isaac was there the whole time. So that confirms that was pretty much the end of the situation.
Obviously they lied to you. This guy was a witness!
Now we know what really happened! Thanks Viking Samurai! Could you get Seagal too?
I'd luv to talk to him someday.
I am sure you will! We are looking forward to it man! Thanks bro!
How the hell can a person like you can do a great interview but the 60 minutes lady can't.
"Person like you"? Now wth is that supposed to mean?
Probably meant someone who doesn’t work for network tv and is just like us
@@michaelblaine6494 bingo
Because it takes that lady an hour and half to do one segment on 60 minutes lol safe, yet true.
@@scypsylock9402 hahahahaha
Even Joe Rogan told the story of Gene saying Gene told him, that was pretty easy. If anyone made it blow up without trying Joe is top of the list following the fighters that like to tell the story.
He’s a bullshit artist.
I wasn't there
but I don't take 10 minutes to start a story....... women do that.
Actually the word is. Seagal didn't piss his pants. He shit💩 his pants?😝.
Great interview. Need about 10 more ads every two minutes
adblock or ublock plugin for firefox, not sure why you're paying for a computer, or a phone and your internet connection and then also paying your additional time to watch ads for garbage on a garbage video about people talking about something that sort of happened decades ago
Gene is very humble for saying "and if I do that then this is what YOU can do" respect!
Now I’ve heard this happened on the set of Golden Girls.
Lmao
That was different, that's the time that Betty White choked out Steven Seagal.
stories and exaggeration's are unstoppable especially from people looking for some kind of recognition, online or on youtube.years gone by and stories still keep going all over the place..thanks for setting the record straight.
This old guy jumped three feet in the air, lands with a crazy throw, all in a split second, like it's a Matrix movie.
Nice!!!! I'm so happy for you. You're a cool guy and I'm sure it would be awesome to speak with you. I've had the pleasure of speaking with you, in the comment section of your videos, as well as a few of my own. I really don't like when humans, make things up, to make someone look bad, simply because they don't like that individual.
TERRANCE OUT
This is my first visit to your channel. Very entertaining and informative. I gotta say, though, this host is a BEAST! "Viking Samurai" indeed!
Keep up the good work. Subbed!
This is the best interview I've seen ANYWHERE on this issue. Truth told.
I wish someone had caught this event on tape. That would have been awesome to see.
I watched all three LOTR movies during this TH-cam video😪💤
Very happy to subscribe and support. I like smart websites that I can learn from. It’s like college that you couldn’t buy. 💥🤛💯
Steven Segal was wrong to atack someone wich was showing him a martial art move.when someone is showing a chuckold or a a legs kick etc the point is to learn what he has to show not to atack hiim and reveal your defence etc. Wich does not counts anyway becose the atack was unffaire without Honor becose the teacher in that case was not thinking to fight or to defend himself wich in a real fight is a real rare situation.
