Do you think his nearly two-year absence could have been due to contract issues with his sponsors?

Illia ‘Golem’ Yefimchyk, popularly referred to as the world’s “most monstrous” bodybuilder owing to his towering six-foot, 154-kilo figure, has died following a severe heart attack. The Belarusian athlete was 36.
According to various Belarusian and Russian media outlets, the athlete fell into a coma after the heart attack on September 6, and died on September 11.
A report in the New York Times, citing local media, quoted Yefimchyk’s wife Anna as saying, “I spent every day by his side, hoping, and his heart started beating again for two days, but the doctor gave me the terrible news that his brain had died.”

It was steroids. Period. Rapid mental decline is a literally side effect of steroids.

Honestly, I think the bigger problem is the entire online discourse around steroids. You have so many people on forums telling new lifters from day 1 that their goals aren’t achievable without steroids. People obsessively have the need to cry out “steroids” about any lifter who achieves anything remotely impressive. All of their role models in the fitness industry either admit to taking steroids, or are just assumed to be taking steroids anyways.

@@StrongerThanTheWorld it’s disgusting. My dad and his close friendly were all semi and pro bodybuilders. All juice heads. Some responsibly and still alive other half dead including my dad from the growth hormone enlarging his heart he died on New Year’s Day morning. Dead instantly. He had me train since I was 13. 29 now. Never touched a steroid in my life. Learned proper nutrition and low volume high intensity training.
I am not bragging by any means here but I am shredded and vascular with a lot of size for my frame at 5 foot 8. When I see these young kids come into the gym skinny and less than a year later are double my size. Not even really training that hard it makes me sick to my stomach that they think they need juice at their age because of this disgusting bodybuilding media crap.
Didn’t mean to get passionate but lost a few friends and my father to these drugs. Suicides, liver failures and heart attack

The sport is literally "get as big as possible", and some people who receive a little validation for their bodies just can't let it go. They will always want to be bigger.. and obviously, they will end up trying gear.
