- An in depth look at one of the ways we install a garage door here at Dapper Dudes Garage Doors of San Antonio. This way saves a lot of bending over etc and we have found it to be a rather quick and efficient way of installing garage doors.

Just confused on the rollers .. why sole of them are in the middle slot of the hardware and why some are on the second.. great videos tho really appreciate u putting this out there and teaching very well !

@@dapperdudesgarage that’s great! Today I just landed a huge deal with a big apartment deal. I spoke with the owner and got myself a huge project to do. I’m going to be installing 33 8’ x 7’ garage doors. I’m blessed and happy to have this deal done with the owner.

@@dapperdudesgarage I honestly would like to start that but I’m not fully 100% to even start a TH-cam channel. However, I do have an Instagram account where I post before and after pictures of the garage doors I install.

We have OHD Co The Strut doesn’t cost very much & a operator bracket full one . No more then 50.00 ! Figure it in the cost instead of a up sale & saving the money on tracks . If no opener on the job or customer never going to put a opener on then it’s ok . Unless you buy a power coated bracket . Your saving a lot of time you can do the job correctly even if the customer doesn’t want you supply the strut . That’s not Professional thing to do . Been doing doors residential & Commercial for over 40 years .
@@Fred-d9n I appreciate your feedback, but as you see in the video your just being technical based on something and some WAY someone has taught you. I go off what my experience has taught me. And I have learned if I take care of customers and their door then there will never be a need for a top strut because even the door alone without an opener moves up and down like butter! So, thanks brother but Im here to break the mold and get off the old traditional and “technical” ways of doing things. But thanks for the engagement. Much appreciated!

I know the old timers use to nail the sections up before they hardware.. looked like your space was limited good job on working around obstacles keep hydrated this summer heat brutal

Great content!! Are the garage door tracks universal to fit any brand panels?
@@jixia676 No not at all. Many doors actually won’t line up with different door tracks at all. A lot will but a lot won’t. Experience will sort of lead you into what will and wont over time.
Note : also no extra cost for lock hardware that saves a cost even if use a side lock the cost is under 10.00 . Also any door that has locks on the door has to be made inoperable .

@@skippy05 at Tex Door or Mega Door look those up on Google. You should be able to find them, but I will say you do have to have a DBA license or be legally registered as a business.

Pretty sweet & easy install since they only wanted the panels swapped. I do quite a few of these types of jobs here in the Atlanta area. What do you do with the old panels…? Are you scrapping them at the metal yard for cash or do you just trash them…?
@@brandonleesanders Yeah this was easy. I had all the tracks ready to replace and the customer just came into the garage and said “I don’t see anything wrong with the tracks so you can leave those if you want and still charge same cost etc!”
I’m like OKAAAYYY thats a win all day! lol I do scrap the metal and all parts for money yes sir. When my trailer is full ill take it and get almost $300 for it.
If you were installing the tracks what is the best to way to ensure they are square? Measure the width of the vertical and then compare it to the horizontal tracks?
@@nhbackyardgarage1892 I don’t do that sir. Experience has allowed me to to visually scan and make changes based on what I see. If we are being honest you can check all you want but some foundations are so messed up it dont matter. Ive learned thats being more technical than necessary. As long as your panels aren’t rubbing and the cable are both tight your good!
