In some showrooms, owners will set the targets to mechanics to bill nearly 20L per month and mechanics will be paid only salary of 15-20k per month And some service stations, mech's are not qualified at all, junior mechs also working on big bikes Battery charging sacm one of the biggest scam in service center
Regardless one should; 1) Stay with the vehicle till the service is done. 2) Ask to see and request that if any parts that are replaced, that you want all the old parts back. 3) Always ask for a itemized break up of your estimated bill. Many times unnecessary addons are added and if you notice it after service you have to pay for the addons. So scan the service estimate bill and have the addons removed. 4) Also do not hesitate to question if you are not satisfied escalate the issue. 5) Always be extra granular on your vehicle knowledge. The more you know the more difficult it becomes for the service center to scam you.
Honda Bigwing service at Ahmednagar (MH) is the biggest scam. They dont attend bike recalls, they forcefully use spares on bike service increasing costs. Pathetic!! Never expected this from Honda
I own Platina 110. My biggest worry was the engine oil (Bajaj Dtsi 10w30, which was actually 20w30 oil, I got this information from HP) which costed Rs 515. Actual price of that oil was Rs. 180-200 (As per the distributor). But it was impossible to buy that oil from distributor. Problem with the oil and these bikes (Platina 100/110, CT 100/110, Pulsar 125) is that the lubrication system is outdated as the oil has viscosity index of 109 and if anyone uses aftermarket 10w30 semi-synthetic (viscosity index of 145+) or even mineral oil (viscosity imdex of 135+), the oil gets overheated. After studying and experimenting a lot, I was able to upgrade the lubrication system of my Platina 110 (same method can be used for other Platina 100/110, CT 100/110, Pulsar 125). Now I am using 10w30 thin semi synthetic oil (costs only Rs. 400) with viscosity index 153, and it is running perfectly (warning, using the same oil on other Platina/CT without upgrading lubrication system will wear the engine). Also, apart from the parts, the regular per year labour cost is only Rs. 200 (mostly for rear brake & chain adjustment, rest self service)
Vikas gf analogy for massage is legendary and too good, you made me embarrassed coz I lol like a crazy person in public😂😂 This is in the top 3 jokes I have heard...😂😂😂
But your statement regarding "stomach fullness" doesn't apply on government employees. Their salaries are absolute mint for their living even far ahead than their levels but they still live only on bribes.😊
Service Centers.. are only Good until the Service Warranty validity. After that it'll just be better to do it ourself or third Party 💀 Specially our buddies pamper thier Lovely Bikes a lot .. so they trust authorized Service the most. But. That's where sometimes things go wrong. . I feel that Every Biker and Motorcyclists should atleast know the Basics or 20-40% of Automobiles and Engines.
Suzuki service centre not selling spare parts , stating counter sale is not allowed. Only if I am installing it in service center then only they call sell it.
I have a Vespa, most local mechanics dont want to work on it so my default option is the company service station. Sometimes they push for some minor things but mostly damages and replacements are reasonable.
luckily i found a yamaha service center sri jaya yamaha Yelahanka Bangalore. every my r15 goes to service ot comes back better and feels much more fresh. also they call for every part replaced and provide recommendations for future repair. they do not coerce you. i hope they keep that up. parts and labour costs is standard in service centre. so cant scam there.
Simple suggestion would be only get the free service done but be aware sometimes they tell to do engine flush or engine oil additives once the warranty period is over get it done somewhere outside yo a known person

Service stations should have video coverage of the service being done to be transparent
