  • Two more places to stay in Udon.
    Living in Udon Thani Thailand.
We take a look at The Ban Bua Hotel and The 8 Hotel, both on Soi Samphan here in Udon Thani. Soi Samphan is probably the most well known Street in town. Lots of nightlife and interesting people to meet, but retreat to either of these hotels, and find some peace and quite and a place to relax.

Good to see these newer hotel have a high ceiling staircase. I remember on time in pattaya I checked into a hotel walked up the stairs to the first floor bang hit my head on the overlap to the ceiling. Bloid everything, so used the lift after that. The swimming pool looks great at the first hotel. Funny at the end , someone has had the safe deposit box away, maybe del boy stayed there. The lady who showed you the second hotel was so sweet and charming

I have seen the low ceilings in many of the older buildings Raymond. So many of the staff are charming and attentive.

@@TheIsaanFarang hi kevin and puk stayed in both banbua and pannari twice both nice hotels plus for pannari hotel is buffet breakfast minus unless you pay around 300 baht extra for pool view side paying around 1400/1500 baht per night the other side of hotel faceing bar area can be really noisy some nights and need to update the aircons both rooms was pretty useless and t.v little english channels and was like watching in a snow storm plus some channels the volume was not working, the banbua grand was really great hotel staff much more welcoming rooms brand new every thing worked well and even have great pod coffe machine plus pool/ gym much nicer and around same price and can always get a great full english breakfast at the brick house just down the road.

The BanBua Grand’s signage out front is a copy of the “Welcome to Las Vegas” Sign. Thanks for the shout out anything motorcycle related definitely catches my eye. As for the 7 foot wide bed we’ve tried those out in the past they’re so big I could t find Pok. Personality prefer a California king size mattress gives me an extra 4 inches of length. Ok on to the bathtub It looked like a whirlpool the difference is water jets come with the classic, high pressure, deep massaging jets that most people have come to associate with hydrotherapy. When you visit a professional physical therapist, this will likely be the type of tub they have. An air tub, on the other hand, is a more generalized, effervescent feeling. Instead of a few concentrated jets, the air tub has numerous air jets that shoot millions of massaging bubbles. It’s a gentler sensation, but still highly relaxing. Pok prefers a whirlpool were as I like an Air tube.

These hotels need to understand that many people will choose one hotel over another one because it has covered parking. Sitting in the tropical sun all days isn't at all good for a vehicle, paint, rubber, plastic all suffer, not mention stuff you might have inside the car, the temperature inside quickly rises to 50 degrees plus.. They would make back the cost of putting up shelters, through extra bookings in no time.

You need to do a little more research , you said in your commentary that Ban Bua Grand had to shut because of COVID , before they had accepted a guest ...Not True , my wife and i stayed there when we were in Udon in Febuary/march ...thought the buffet brekky needed work , but the rooms were ok ...I thought the Eight hotel was a little less pretentious , and more comfortable , no pool though ,,
